    Web 2.0

Zopa - A bank run by it's users

Slice the pie - Record label run purely by it's users

Couch surfing - Get a room, anywhere in the world for free

    Videos

Vodo - Free indie films completely leagal

TED - A collection of entrpenous and inventors presenting their ideas, it's like 500 James Dysons and CLive Sinclairs in one place

Vimeo - A youtube with vids actually worth watching (mostly art films)

Zattoo - Live TV on your PC over the internet, it's not one of those ones that only picks up the Jamacan Bobsleigh channel either, all the major teretial channels are there.

Seriously what's up with all these bannings, some are expected on atleast some level but users like Azure and Darkxsoul. If GS keeps loosing members like his there ain't gonna be any community left to mod. I think the baan tooll stands at about 5 users over just a few dayspossibly more.

If this continues along with all the boring OT threads i may not be here much longer.....

    /rant

    Anyway just as an update:

    1. Broke my colar bone skiing
    2. Sat my AS exams and i think i've failed Physics and Maths

Just did one of those personality tests and the result was perfect (INTP)(67 62 100 11). Apparently my future job is going to be in natural sciences or computing which are strangly my best 2 subjects at college. The rest:

Rational Portrait of the Architect (INTP)

Architects need not be thought of as only interested in drawing blueprints for buildings or roads or bridges. They are the master designers of all kinds of theoretical systems, including school curricula, corporate strategies, and new technologies. For Architects, the world exists primarily to be analyzed, understood, explained - and re-designed. External reality in itself is unimportant, little more than raw material to be organized into structural models. What is important for Architects is that they grasp fundamental principles and natural laws, and that their designs are elegant, that is, efficient and coherent.

Architects are rare - maybe one percent of the population - and show the greatest precision in thought and speech of all the types. They tend to see distinctions and inconsistencies instantaneously, and can detect contradictions no matter when or where they were made. It is difficult for an Architect to listen to nonsense, even in a casual conversation, without pointing out the speaker's error. And in any serious discussion or debate Architects are devastating, their skill in framing arguments giving them an enormous advantage. Architects regard all discussions as a search for understanding, and believe their function is to eliminate inconsistencies, which can make communication with them an uncomfortable experience for many.

Ruthless pragmatists about ideas, and insatiably curious, Architects are driven to find the most efficient means to their ends, and they will learn in any manner and degree they can. They will listen to amateurs if their ideas are useful, and will ignore the experts if theirs are not. Authority derived from office, credential, or celebrity does not impress them. Architects are interested only in what make sense, and thus only statements that are consistent and coherent carry any weight with them.

Architects often seem difficult to know. They are inclined to be shy except with close friends, and their reserve is difficult to penetrate. Able to concentrate better than any other type, they prefer to work quietly at their computers or drafting tables, and often alone. Architects also become obsessed with analysis, and this can seem to shut others out. Once caught up in a thought process, Architects close off and persevere until they comprehend the issue in all its complexity. Architects prize intelligence, and with their grand desire to grasp the structure of the universe, they can seem arrogant and may show impatience with others who have less ability, or who are less driven.

As this new meme seems to be a confusing alot of people with it's suddenness i shall explain it here:

    .

For reasons of moderation when i say 'that site' i'm referring to the most popular imageboard on the internet which has pretty much no rules, the only rule that was made was because the FBI came calling at the admin's house. So you can sort of see why it's a moddable offense to mention it.

    .

Boxxy is a teenage girl who posts on 'that site' she made various meme style pictures such as "I see what you did there". These threads became incredibly popular including a photoshop thread. Later other users posed as boxxy, this is possible as on 'that site' you can post under any name and no password is required, messages such as "I love 'that site'" cropped up.

These images grew in popularity resulting in a reply video on youtube: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Yavx9yxTrsw She then exponentially grew in popularity leading to a full blown mem, this like every meme resulted in mass spamming.Other users and the admin (known only as 'moot') weren't happy about this so moot started suspending IPs of people who spammed the meme (also know as trolls) and the general users that wanted the meme gone started reply with messages such as "Boxxy is the cancer". After some time these users raided the site (also known as a DDoS), this is where auto refreshers and auto posters are used to overload a server and crash the site, this was finally sucsessfu around midnight last night.

This halted the meme by cutting the sudden popularity the site had experienced and also allowing moot to delete boxxy posts that had already been made and apply a filter auto banning anyone who posted the word "boxxy".

    .

If you have a problem with this blog jody or any of the mods just PM me with any adaptions you would like or if you wish it to be removed entirely. This post is only to remove the confusion and provide a quick end to these "What is boxxy?" threads.

    Name: mark robinson
    August 20 1992
12:00 PM Time Zone is BST
    manchester, UK

Rising Sign is in 28 Degrees Libra
Very attractive and popular, your charm helps you to get your own way and prevents others from getting angry with you. "Peace and harmony at all costs" is your battle cry. You always try to ameliorate or to cosmetically hide any physical ugliness or any angry feelings between people. Flashy, but not gaudy, you prefer to dress elegantly. You generally have good taste in music, art and literature. Beware of the tendency to compromise yourself in your attempt to be agreeable at all times. A bit of a social butterfly, at times you can be vain and lazy. For the most part, however, you are gracious and affectionate, and your refined and aristocratic demeanor serves as a role model to others.

Sun is in 27 Degrees Leo.
More than a bit of a showoff, you love to be the center of attention! But others do not usually mind because they tend to enjoy your genuine warmth and affection. Very spirited and willful, proud and self-important at times, you demand your own way. You are quite honest, however, and the respect of others is very important to you. You never compromise yourself and you pursue your goals with persistence and dedication. Your regal presence and demeanor draws you to positions of leadership and authority. But beware of being overly hardheaded, domineering, ostentatious or patronizing or you will lose the goodwill and admiration that you enjoy. Very theatrical, you live life on a grand scale wherever and whenever possible. Your strength and energy vitalizes those who come in contact with you.

Moon is in 16 Degrees Taurus.
Warmth, comfort, security and familiar surroundings are necessary for you to feel at ease. Very loving and affectionate, you prefer a steady, patterned way of life. Patient, calm and steadfast, you are not easily upset. Others look to you for support. You tend to be a slow starter and a slow mover -- others may try to rush you, but they will never succeed. Emotionally, you are quite stubborn -- your attitudes about people and things were firmly set in your youth and will change very little as an adult. You are also very cautious and conservative about spending money. It is not that you are selfish, you just need to feel secure. Beware of a tendency to become overly complacent and too self-satisfied.

Mercury is in 09 Degrees Leo.
You are usually quite convinced that your own ideas are correct and you enjoy persuading others that they are. At times, you are very stubborn and proud of your beliefs and principles, and you get very defensive when they are challenged. You appreciate truth and honesty -- you practice it yourself and expect it in others. You have good talent for organizing, directing and planning. You delight in being asked for your advice and counsel.

Venus is in 16 Degrees Virgo.
You express your love and affection through selfless service to people or causes. You have a tendency to underestimate yourself and doubt your self-worth. This is very demeaning and should be avoided -- learn to love yourself as well as you do others. Your standards of perfection are very high -- you are attracted to relationships based on duty and responsibility. You are supercritical of yourself and others and, at times, prefer to be alone rather than deal with any imperfections in yourself or in those with whom you might relate.

Mars is in 16 Degrees Gemini.
Your energies get turned on quickly whenever anything interests you. But you have a very short attention span and it is difficult for you to complete tasks because something else more interesting always seems to be beckoning. You love to debate and argue, usually in a spirit of friendly disagreement. But watch out that you do not get too overly aggressive or antagonistic or others will be quick to take offense where none may have really been intended. You need to be in constant physical motion -- sports or daily exercise is a must for you if you are to feel fit and healthy.

Jupiter is in 19 Degrees Virgo.
You feel most expansive and at ease with yourself when you are doing something that you consider to be practical or useful. You enjoy being dutiful and carrying out responsibilities. You gladly take on the little tasks that others seem to want to avoid. At times, you carry things to extremes and feel guilty anytime you do something that you consider to be self-indulgent. While it is appropriate for you to demand little for yourself in life, try to loosen up once in a while -- go out on a fling and enjoy yourself!

Saturn is in 14 Degrees Aquarius.
Your personal sense of values is a reflection of the value structures of your peer group and of those you respect and admire. Try to be more critical in your acceptance of these values -- you tend to prejudge the abilities of those you trust and then follow what they say blindly. Basically very conservative, you prefer orderly, systematic changes and fear doing things rashly or impulsively. Ideas and philosophies must have some sort of immediately realizable, utilitarian function in order for you to pay any attention to them.

Uranus is in 14 Degrees Capricorn.
You, and your peer group as well, seek out practical solutions to a changing society's attitudes to customs, traditions and authority structures. Your logical and orderly manner of dealing with these matters will result in permanent and carefully planned, but sweeping, reforms.

Neptune is in 16 Degrees Capricorn.
You, and your entire generation, will idealize work, practicality and the ability to attain reasonable goals. But, because you will also stress the need to be selfless and giving, you may find it difficult to attain your goals unless you have lowered your expectations on all fronts.

Pluto is in 20 Degrees Scorpio.
For your entire generation, this is a period of intense research and discovery in areas that were heretofore considered mysterious, remote or taboo. The root causes for many complex occurrences will be unearthed due to the intensity and thoroughness of the search.

    N. Node is in 28 Degrees Sagittarius.
You will probably have many different contacts and acquaintances throughout your life. You're quite gregarious by nature and your natural curiosity about others lets you take the lead in forming new relationships. You'll form close ties with those who have similarly idealistic ideas -- especially those who can stimulate you intellectually in your chosen field of interest. Your enthusiasm for learning new things may also cause you to do quite a bit of traveling. Because you probably will have many wide-ranging interests and concerns, you most likely will have contacts and connections in various parts of the country (or world).

    bit's in red are wrong

pretty much perfect except that i hate attention and sometimes i go out on a fling but it's an organised fling (like if it needs money then i'll have a certain amount to fling), i'm not attractive really (though maybe my idea of perfection is the problem here), i also don't really care what other people think and make my own way

Mark robinson, Manchester UK, August 20 1992

Erm right... So i'm 15 years old and i've just left highschool, my options being: Seperate science, History, Business studies and German. Going to sixth form next year to take: maths, computing and physics at AS level and computer games development BTEC, I'm not sure which i'll carry on in the second year yet.

I like video games and play mostly on my gaming PC which i managed to build myself when i was 14. I've recently managed to do some non standard pc hardware work such as RAID0 and installing third party CPU and northbridge coolers. I'll play pretty much anything but i love a game with a story and depth. I play CS;S with my friends on my friend's clan's server and zombie mod.

I also watch anime on veoh and animecrazy.net series i'vefinished are deathnote, trigun and air gear. I'm currently watching bleach and cowboy bebop. I watch very little TV though i do watch some online, usually it's just top gear or dr who but sometimes i'll watch a sitcom like my name is earl or panel shows like never mind the buzcocks or mock the week.

I'm quite and am quite happy on my own. I have a small group of friends who i don't seem to have seen much of recently but nevermind.

Before i started school i lived in germany for 18 months and went to kindergarten there.

When I'm older i want to develop technology, the intergrated digital home particually intrests me. I guess i'll go to university before that and study computer sciences though.

That's everything i can think of for the mo'.
