    The Rambo arcade machine MARATHON!

    -Dunk, Myself and Giles

Earlier this year I attended a little gaming meet organised by a site called Ready-Up to be held at the London Trocadero. Made some new friends that day, played some games, good times had. Amongst the games played was one of my favourite recent arcade machines of the Troc- Rambo. I slowly managed to tempt one of my new friends, 'Giles' to participate in the organised co op warfare.

We locked our coins in and loaded our guns up. Cock Locked and ready to rock.

The rest of the night was spent in the warmth of the DS pub meet where a bunch of us were huddled over some bevies discussing our new found love for the Rambo arcade machine. I and a somewhat un-sober Giles pondered the idea of achieving a marathon, an arcade completion. Non-stop. All out. Un censored action. £15 each we figured.

A couple of months ago this drunken slurring became a real life, accomplishment... thing. If you can call completing an arcade machine that. I mean let's face it, it's not 1995 anymore.

Although our original idea of doing it ourselves with war paint went out the window, we managed to do it with help of 10 or so other gamers from the Ready-Up community.

It was a great laugh, even if one of the gamers jumped ahead of me when it was my turn finishing off the game. I mean that's just poor arcade etiquette!

I'd like to think that I shall revisit the Rambo machine and complete it myself someday. War paint and all. Maybe even film the whole thing. Who knows.

    In other events...

The trailer for the new Karate Kid film was released yesterday. Myself and another fan of the original where awaiting this with low expectations. Seemed as though those expectations served us well. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the link.

There's so many things wrong with this trailer. One of which, is that the martial arts in the trailer seems more reminiscent of kung fu rather than actual karate.

And that's it till tomorrow. Christmas is right around the corner. Literally. And with that I'll leave you with a picture of my advent calendar all empty and sad.

step 1 to fixing the Trocadero. WHERE THE F**K IS SEGAWORLD!?

Click here for a video on how good Sega world London use to be.

Back in 1996 the wrolds largest indoor theme park and arcade 'SegaWorld' opened in the London Trocadero.

Four years later it was closed down.

What remains is Funland and a fine selection of random crap. Today Trocadero is the Coney Island of London; a semi deserted, uncared for piece of entertainment history. It was the place I had taken my first date, it was the place I use to go to for EVERY birthday growing up.

Realisitically, I dont see Segaworld coming back. It was the death of the arcades during the late 90's that brought it to its knees. That and the reductions of Sega as a company.

But hey, who knows maybe someday. Something as cool as Segaworld, or at least something thats looked after and with pretty lights can be back in the Troc.

From a Londoner born and raised on the streets of Sonic, I miss you.

'dont b nervous talking 2 girls'- yup I bought it and heres a video

Heres the video of me playing it, you probably want to watch that first to know what the hell I'm talking about.

For the past year independent gamers having been welding their ambitious programing/ developing 'talent' upon the gamers of Xbox Live with varying degrees of awesome. Theres the ones that really try for something original and fun like 'Kudo game lab'. Theres the novelty cash in games like 'pumpkin carver' released during the Halloween season. And then theres the old school formula reworked with pretty pixels, such as 'I made a game with zombies'.

This game falls into none of those categories. Its just crazy. But its also kinda practical and for an upcoming independent gaming studio quite the cash in. Because lets face it, we gamers have been known to not be the smoothest with the ladies, right? Plus we'll almost always buy a game with a pretty girl on it. I'm not sure which of these facts is more depressing

I have to say however despite my initial speculations on the game, it works well as a 'play it with your mates for a laugh' game. You know like a guilty pleasure. Its pretty funny to see friends reaction when they got a cocky negative response from 'Jessica' the virtual hottie.

And from a single man who practically has no game, I do find that I am actually learning the basics of being smooth.

...And learning how tall the tallest rollarcoaster is :/
