    New Game Fever ... (again)

I've got some serious New Game Fever.

You know that feeling you get when you want a new game, *any* new game? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

The trouble is, there's nothing out right now that I'm interested in.

So, I've been doing what I always do when I have New Game Fever: go back through my old games and see if there's anything worth playing again.

I have some JRPGs that I haven't finished yet: Ni no Kuni, Jeanne d'Arc, Infinite Space, Suikoden Tierkreis, and FF 4 Heroes of Light.

Then there are the ones that have post-game content: Dragon Quest IX and Devil Survivor 2.

Not to mention, there's a few games my roomie has that he's finished playing and says I could start a new save: Nostalgia, Etrian Odyssey II, and Dragon Quest Monsters Joker.

But here's the thing: I need a walkthrough/guide to figure out where I left off on the JRPGs, and I'm just too lazy to figure it out. I don't really want to do post-game grinding, although I wouldn't mind eventually maxing out my demons in SMT: DS2 and dungeon-map running in DQ9. Eventually. Nostaligia and EO2 didn't get great reviews, and I don't want to delete my roomie's DQMJ save because he's put in over 100 hours gameplay.

So, I've settled for going back to Final Fantasy Tactics A2, even though I still need a guide for some help with the dispatch missions; for the most part, I can load it up and play a map or two.

It doesn't satisfy my New Game Fever, but the only thing that'll do that is a new game.

I did try FTL Faster Than Light, and while it's a unique game, I'm not sure it's my speed. I prefer slow, methodical games -- preferably with a turn-based battle system. I like being able to put the game down at a moments notice if I need a break.

The new MMO, Marvel Heroes, will be open to the public soon, and hopefully that will appease the New Game Fever Beast.

I really do need to blog more often; this has been therapeutic!

    Summer 2011

Trying to get in a blog postso it doesn't look like I take a year between posts, hah!

Props to Sony for their Welcome Back event. Been playing LittleBigPlanet in-between Pokemon Black & White. I'm enjoying LBP, but some of the levels are extremely difficult, and I'm years out-of-practice when it comes to platforming games. Currently in pokemon post-game, doing a bit of breeding, and trying to fill up the pokedex. Also having a bit of fun in Dream World, trying to collect the last of the pokemon needed from there.

I'm anxiously awaiting the release of FF-Type 0, since there are so few PSP games on my wishlist.

I'm surprised that Sony is releasing a new handheld, since their last two epically failed compared to the NDS. Sure, I'd miss my PSP if it broke beyond all repair, but I'd have a fit if I lost my NDS. The only way I'm losing my NDS is if someone pries it from my cold, dead fingers.

The Vita does look interesting -- but Sony will only get my $$$ if they release more RPGs for their handheld systems.

    RPG'er for life!

    Summer RPG Heaven

Currently dividing my time between playing DQIX, Pokemon SoulSilver, and Persona 3 Portable.

...whew! There's just not enough time in the day!
