Was I the only one who paid attention in civics class?
Yesterday there was a rally on the steps of the Capital featuring the several Republican Congressmen. The featured speaker was House Minority leader John Boehner. Mr. Boehner took the stage and proceeded to deliver one of the biggest forehead slappers of the year. As seen in the video he holds up a copy of the Constitution and says he wants to quote from it but quotes from the Declaration of Independence. D-Day
Today is the 65th anniversary of the Invasion of Normandy, better known as D-Day. A few days ago marked the 65th anniversary of a turning point in the history of my family. It was May 1944 and my grandfather Dewey Jenkins (yes his name was Dewey don't laugh) was set to ship out to England and take part in the most important battle of the century.
