HELLO!!!!
Remember me? I've been MIA for a while and thought that I'd pop up again and let you know what's been up
I moved from SoCal to Chicago for school and love it so far, only met one Doctor Who fan so far, and I think that my Doctor obsession paired with my Dr. Strangelove poster is what has lead him to propose... 3 times
Other than that still working in theater, as always, don't have cable in my room yet, but there's a guy on my floor who is a cable guy, so he's going to fix that up for me and my roommates, just in time for Heroes!!!
So I'm going to be a girl right now and talk about another one of my favorite shows
GREEK
You don't have to like it because it really not that good but I love it. Last night i used the wonder of the internet to watch the latest episode and it changed the show for me.
See, I WAS a big Casey/Cappie shipper when the show started, and then they had to introduce Max, the adorably smart, sweet, painfully shy R, and gave him and Casey a oh-to-cute moment at the end of the show that had me saying to myself 'I don't care! He can be a meth dealing Sociopath and I will still ship them to the ends of the earth'
Did I mention he's insanely attractive and watches Doctor Who?
Other than that, I'm going to see Kevin Divine tomorrow night, and am slowly getting sucked into Sons of Anarchy
LOVELLUS!!!(I've missed typing that!)

here's a little going away pic-gift i found on deviant art for all my fellow whoolagins!
Hope you all have a great summer!

So, I adore Sex and the City, and for fan like myself, you will, without a doubt, love the new movie, HOWEVER! Product Placement GALORE
So, apparently, if you want to be a fabulous, trendy, sexy, savy woman you should:
Drink Vitamin Water, Sky Vodka, Starbucks, and Smart Water.
I actually love Smart Water... I've been drinking that stuff for years
For Seriously... It's redonkulus

But it is emotional, funny, and sweet... My personal favorite moment was when the entire audience gasped in shock when a certin husband confessed to sleeping with someone else...
It's so cute for fans, and GUYS, should your girlfriend drag you to the movie, don't B!tch about it, you may learn something. Single boy's, this is the a great place to meet girls!

So, I'm trying to get everything together for my summer lighting internship, so far I have everything except my tools... Which is consequently the number 1 thing I need...
I've also had to start working out to get my strength and stamina back up to par... That's going smoother than I had anticipated
But the one thing that's killing me is getting myself back to east coast time... I can't get myself out of bed earlier that 10 am... BLEH!
I still need to get all my ducks in a row for school in the fall, But till then I'm gonna just tie Bowlines over and over again!
oh, dinner's up... talk to you all later

While waiting between my 11'o clock final and my 6'o clock final out at the smoking benches I gots sunburned... So I'll be peeling and miserable tomorrow.... Alas
BUT My very last final at Santa Barbara City College is in one hour and it shall all be done with!
I am typically VERY into Politics, however, Both My polisci final and American politics have become a bit disenchanting after meeting a stanch Conservative boy who hangs out at the smoking section... This is typically neutral territory, but this guy will argue with a chair about the patriot act... Quite a character whom I'm not going to miss after tomorrow!
I know I said I would have a review for CoN
C by now, but just wait till next week and you'll get Indiana Jones too!LOVEULLS!!!

ialthough my time is still strained, I thought I'd give you a few new movie reviews
First!
Harold and Kumar: Escape From Guantanamo Bay
This movie is hysterical, If you enjoyed the first at all than you'll love the second. Don't get me wrong, It's crude stoner humor, but this time with a political twist that's refreshing. The characters get a bit more depth, and still have there priority's very out of order. The story takes off right were it left off last time, and things go to hell from there. You also get some history on the dynamic duo, and all i'll say is that Harold is emo.
Oh and Neil Patrick Harris is riding a Unicorn...
Iron Man
Superman and Spiderman take note, THIS is what a comic-book movie should be! It's was the perfect blend of political commentary, anti-hero, and tong and cheek. This is why I like comic books!
Robert Downy Jr. Was brilliant, I feel that he was better in the beginning scenes where he just doesn't give a $h!t, Gwenneth Paltrow, Great, but I cant understand why they sign these mega stars to films that are designed for sequels... Gwenneth Paltrow has an Oscar, Why should she do a sequel? However, I am a HUGE Big Lebowski fan... I am so SoCal, so seeing the dude himself rock out as a bald war mongrel was hysterical.
Speed Racer
The childhood cartoon holds a special nostalgic place in my heart, like pop-rocks, which isn't to far a cry of this film. lets just start with the digital city, take Dubai, add the Vegas script and give it a Guy Fawkes day and your on the right track. The pace was a bit much, you jolted between super high intensity race sequences and mellow scenes that left you a bit, dazed... Th film took all of the c****c (Seriously! What is so bad about that word?) images of Anime and put real people into the frame... It's defiantly different, but I think it went a bit to far. The comedy was surprisingly mature, seeing speed's little bro flipping off the evil corporate supper villain was kinda shocking considering this is a family film. John Goodman playing the type of role he thrives in and Emile Hersh: toned and in tight shirts, Need I say more?
I just have to say, a a Loyal member of the Colbert Nation, that seeing Korean Supper Sensation Rain geting his ass handed to him in his first frame, was awesome.
Join me next week for Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Sexy Pants... sorry Caspian..

I still have about a week of tech before you'll see me in the message boards again, but I thought I'd take a second to say Happy Saint Patrick's Day! and hope that you all have a great time on this holiday that is grouped into my other favorites like Cinco De Mayo, and New Years!
The laptop is still down, and I am really behind in most of my shows, but on a lighter note, I got into CalArts! and the University of Wyoming... I think my grandfather in London phrased it pest when he said "where the hell is Wyoming?"
Love all!

I wont say what it is, but I will say that I squeed, giggled and earned several odd glances..
Ok, Highlight below...
Owen Harper: News man with a Redonkulus voice
Penelope: Sweet, Cheesy, but ultimately an adorable feel-good flick.

I'm not going to make this long.... I don't really have allot to say... That and my laptop is down and my desktop keyboard is weird.
Sooo, Have I mentioned how much I love Across The Universe? I do, I really really love it... I finally got around to buying the DVD, and although it is still missing one deleted scene that was shown in previews, I still have watched it 3 times this weekend.

So, seeing as my laptop is all funky, I sill have not scene the latest Torchwood... and that makes me sad inside.

With Love

And this will be the end of any Oscar references! Scouts Honer, and I was a girl Scot for...9 years? longer?
Level 10 with 100%... TV.com is weird
Anywhoo! Lots of things to do next week, Midterms (eww), Rehearsals (Meh), College Interviews (
), And Lighting Hangs for a new original comedy (not fun, but every time I talk to the producer, my salary goes up...without asking).So... Book? Yes?
Bringing Down The House by Ben Mezrich
So, I first heard of the MIT Blackjack team about 8 months ago when I saw a special about modern gambling, and I though it was interesting, then I saw a preview for the movie 21 last week, and was like 'Hey! Thats a true story! I saw it on the History Channel... Because I'm cool... Seriously...'
Anyway, The book is great, fast-paced and exciting considering, at it's core, It's a non-fiction book about math geeks. I'm Only about halfway through, but I highly recommend it
I still have another half hour before I have my polysci lecture... Goodie... Followed by a long drive home, only to be greeted with Project Runway when I get home.
And Scene!
Loveulls

So, seeing as I didn't list all of my predictions, here's how I came out
CALLED:
Best Animated Feature (Ratatouille)
Achievement in Makeup (La Vie En Rose)
Art Direction (Sweeney Todd)
Best Supporting Actor
Javier Bardem (Lets face it, this was his year, I would have been shocked if anyone else COULD have won. Great acceptance speech with the thank you to his mother in his native Spanish)
Live Action Short Film (The Mozart of Pickpockets)
Best Actress
Marion Cotillard (She was wonderful and genuine tonight as she gave a adorable acceptance speech)
Best Foreign Language Film (The Counterfeiters)
Best Original Song (Once)
Best Score (Atonement, Love that typewriter...)
Best Actor
Danial Day Lewis (The favorite of the night, absolutely incredible performance... all I can say is 'I drink your milkshake'

Best Director...S
The Coen Brothers (I love those dudes)
So I missed on Supporting Actress, Writing, and Best Picture.... BUT I did say that Diablo Cody SHOULD win Best Original Screenplay, So that wasen't so much a loss as it was a not-win. My Grandfather was a screenwriter so the writing category's are very close to my heart.
SO, I would like to extend my congratulations to 'No Country for Old Men' and Diablo Cody for winning one for the underdog and winning one for every exotic dancer who dream of becoming a big time screenwriter!
And Bourne Ultimatum! Congrats for your bizarre big wins tonight.
Goodnight all!

In order to escape my little brother's impromptu party for his buddy's 19th birthday while my parents were at work. And while getting plastered before noon with a bunch of asses who can't pronounce antidisestablishmentarianism is my very definition of a good time, I opted to got to the movies and avoid them all being mauled by my parrot.
Charlie Bartlett
This was a surprisingly touching and funny story about very real kids in high school today. The story of an exceptionally smart young man seeking to be well liked uses his experience from years of therapy to help fellow students work out their issues. He takes advantage of therapists who would rather throw prescriptions at kids than actually help them work out their problems and sells those prescriptions back to the other kids at school. It's very funny, very sweet, and quite smart considering it is a 'teen' film. A brilliant and touching performance from Anton Yechin, who did a mavouls job carrying this film on his own, keep your eyes out for this kid, because I have a feeling we'll be seeing more from him. Robert Downey Jr. was also fantastic in a very interesting, honest role.TTFN!!!!
Loveulls,

I feel as though I've been neglecting the Whoniverse boards, I have been reading, just not posting... Primarily because I've been sick and haven't been able to perform basic motor functions...
BUT I'm better now, just in time to comment on all new Torchwood! All Hail Owen! King of Weevils!!!
In other news... I'm re-obsessed with Rooney.
I love love love Rooney, and I have seice... Honestly since Robert Schwartzman stared in The Princess Diary's. But thats not why I still consistently love them. They have a very old school surf town SoCal sound. They feel like the epitomize what all the funky throw back bands that I see all the time.

Movies? I don't feel like reviewing anything now, but I am looking forward to Charlie Bartlet, like all other Degrassi fans, and Penelope, because it looks adorable and I will watch anything with James McAvoy

Soo, I leave you with a promise to comment of message boards!
Loveulls!

Seeing as I'm sick as all hell and i would do this anyway, this is my personal 2008 Oscar breakdown. I could do the FULL report, but I'm not that bored. If you really want to known message me and we can speculate on art direction and animation
Best Supporting Actress
Cate Blanchett "I'm Not There"
Will Win/Should WinShe really inhabited the role of Bob Dylan in a way that no one else in this film could have, that pared with the academy's respect for cross gender roles, I see no reason why Cate Blanchett will win and ahould win
Best Supporting Actor
Javier Bardem "No Country For Old Men"
Should Win/Will WinDisspite the fact that he's winning every award in the known universe, those of you who have seen 'No Country' know why. He is absolutely amazing, and gives a complex and disturbing performance.
Best Adapted Screenplay
There Will Be Blood
Should Win/ Will WinThis powerful story pulled from Upton Sinclair's 'Oil' Is the type of thing that the academy loves to award, that paired with the intense story is why, I think, it should win.
Best Original Screenplay
Michael Clayton
Will WinThis is the type of original screen play that the academy will always award, It's a complex story paired with a fresh original idea
Juno
Should WinHowever, a fresh, smart quirky idea will be overlooked despite the simple brilliance of the story and the fun, fast paced wit that 'Juno' delivered.
Best Actress
Marion Cotillard "La Vie En Rose"Marion Cotillard's stunning performance of the tragic life of legendary french songbird, Edith Pilaf, was worth whatever ridiculous trip you had to take to find a theater showing this film.
Best Actor
Daniel Day Lewis "There Will Be Blood"
Will WinLets face the simple fact: The academy loveulls intense method actors. So this is why D.D. Lewis will win best actor
Johnny Depp "Sweeney Todd"
Should WinJohnny Depp is the actor that the everyone wants to honar, but none of the roles he takes are considered 'Oscar Caliber', But he should win for taking on one of the most challenging roles in musical theater history, even though he is, in no way, a musical theater actor.
Best Director
The Coen Brothers "No Country For Old Men"
Should/Will WinThey will win because they made one of the most powerful movies of the year, but they should win because their freaking awesome. Hello? 'Big Lebowski'?
Best Picture
Atonement
Should/Will WinThis was a tough call, because this year had three films that could easaly take it, but when I choose a Best Picture, I tend to lean towards the film that I think has lasting power, Atonement leaves you depressed but with closure, and tells a simple, beautiful story in a way that doesn't feel like it's being shoved down your throat. Not to forget, of course, how visually stunning it comes across.
So there it is cats and kids! I'm looking forward to being surprised, but in general I think I'm pretty on. I don't think that any one film is going to sweep, because there were three intense films that I see all getting a general wash, no defined sweep for the night.
I'm looking froward to actually watching the awards. Last year I was getting text messages as I worked a show that night. Added bonus of it being Jon Stewart...
One of my personal heroes
LOVEULLS!!!
Little M.
