-E3 Review Coming Soon-
I have been watching a serious amount of E3 on site, and I do mean serious, it's been extreme and I feel totally E3'd out now. I watched all the media events live and also most of the best stuff from the live GS stage shows, sometimes staying up till the early hours of the morning here in the U.K. Last night I stayed up till fricking 5:00am because of the Resident Evil 5 Stage Demo. Anyway, I of course have many thoughts on it all including strong opinions on the media briefings from all three companies as well as the games that have been shown over the last couple of days, both on the floor and behind closed doors. It's all on the way very soon but for now I wish to keep it very simple; I was very impressed by what Microsoft had to show, I was deeply disappointed by Sony's effort, and absolutely mortified by Nintendo's. This is despite them showing some things that were very welcome, these being a few....

IGN, like the lucky fellows they are, have interviewed Animal Crossing: City Folk producer Katsuya Eguchi, revealing a few intriguing details along the way.
The only control options are nunchuk/remote or remote alone. From what I can gather by snuffling around the Interweb the remote alone option has the pointer controlling movement, a bit like the touch screen movement in the DS version.
Characters can be transferred from the DS' Wild World to City Folk, taking along your outfits and things with you. It also works the other way so that you can take your character to a friend's house and play in their Wii town. If your Wii isn't connected online, you'll also be able to take your character out within the DS version, go to a Wi-Fi hotspot to download things like new furniture and then upload them into City Folk.
The idea of tying the Weather Channel into City Folk was toyed with, but they decided to make it independent of that so that players experience all the seasons. It would have sucked anyway seeing as though I live in the UK, who the hell would want to visit my town if it rained all the time.
Functions such as the auction house will be updated automatically via WiiConnect24.
Any downloadable content will be free and automatic. It won't be using the Pay To Play model. In the words of Tom Nook: yesyes!
You can read the full interview here, which goes a little more in-depth into the things mentioned above.

I ******* heart this series!, I find it all very fun and amusing, besides I am a sucker for cuteness. It just has this very simple charm that I find very endearing. It all looks like it's going to get far better with this game, partly because of the new devices pictured below. With this version I am going to create the best Animal Crossing town the wide world has ever seen!. This time it will be a drug free environment where friends of all ages will be able to visit and have fun. I am going to make sure everyone in town is happy without the need to do crazy stuff at night.
You should all consider yourselves invited to KoOkaViLLa as soon as it opens up to the public in November!.
WiiSpeak

Nintendo are all about innovation, apparently this device allows you to speak to a entire room of people in realtime online during games- AMAZING!
Wii Cordless Keyboard

This should make typing the Animalese easier, it's always been pretty tedious in the past.
Wii MotionPlus

This is by far the best device, it's something that the Wii and this game really needs, it should be great for chopping down trees and going fishing but I am certain Nintendo have many other far more imaginative ideas up their sleeves.

During E3 Pikmin 3 has been mentioned and hinted at, but now has once been confirmed once again by mastermind Shigeru Miyamoto.
The result of the company's rumoured secret unveiling saw legendary game designer seemingly confirm the game's existence officially. No maybes, or clever hints. Just three key words, according to PalGN: "We're making Pikmin."
WooTz!
Pikmin 3 is definitely on the way, Olimar fans rejoice!

According to the recent issue of UK Mag NGamer, alongside Animal Crossing, there will be an all-new Wii version of the ****c Punch-Out!! at E3.
From an article seen by N-Europe, the Publication states in an E3 Preview article;
And if all goes to plan (and our sources haven't played a mean trick on us), that hands-on coverage will be of Animal Crossing and Punch-Out!! Wii, aka Nintendo's great hopes for 2008.
The magazine also states that the Balance Board will be implemented alongside the expected Wiimote + Nunchuk combo, that will follow the example of Wii Sports Boxing and the Rhythm Boxing side-game in Wii Fit.

Gotta love the original, even today after all these years it's still wicked fun, well up until you meet the final opponent Mike Tyson or Mr Dream of course, because then it becomes a test of will and determination like no other.
In regards to Animal Crossing, NGamer says that the game has been complete for a while (which would possibly mean a simultaneous regional release), and that it won't be a MMO, although there will be extensive use of WiFi.
I managed to find one today ![]()

I also got Shenmue on the Dreamcast, it's in minto condition which is fantastic. I only paid £10 which is pretty amazing given that.
We've known about some sort of motion controller for the XBOX 360 for some time now, but it has remained shrouded in a thick cloud of mystery and PR babble. Now however, developer Motus have shown off a motion-sensing break-apart pad for the XBOX 360. The major question is whether this is a third party offering or the real deal first party contraption.
Is it for third or first-party production? Nowhere on their website is it made clear if this is simply a third party product for the XBOX 360 or if the hardware developer have signed a deal with Microsoft to bring the controller, codenamed 'Darwin', to the system.
The developer boasts:
'Darwin uses a number of sensors that allow it to know where it is (kind of like a personal GPS, but using a different kind of technology) It is self-contained, meaning what you hold is all you need, no IR strips or other devices for a reference point.'
It also provides a visual description of each element of the controller, showing that it breaks in half, which will apparently allow for three different modes of play. Single player with two hands, one hand or even multiplayer with one person using each half. Sounds pretty clever...if it works.
The company website takes a number of cheap swipes at the Nintendo Wii Remote in highlighting what it sees as strengths of their Darwin system. Time will tell just how good or bad the product seems to be, but it certainly shows a lot of promise, albeit fairly unoriginal promise.
It has been rumoured that Microsoft will unveil some sort of motion-sensing controller at its E3 keynote conference on Monday July 14th, but speaking to MCV they refused to comment as to whether the Motus pad is what they will be showing at the event stating "We do not comment on rumour or speculation".
So there you have it. You guys check out a nice little demonstration of the controller by clicking here.

Videogame Trivia
Birdo is a Transsexual

Birdo's gender has changed throughout various American game versions, but has always been male in Japan. In the original manual for Super Mario Bros. 2, Birdo is referred to as male that believes he is female, and would liked to be called Birdetta. Most later American-localized games, such as the Mario sports titles, which have featured Birdo with a diamond ring, have listed Birdo as a female. However recent localizations have not been using any gender pronouns when describing Birdo, and many fans consider Birdo as male-to-female transsexual character.

Can you think of any other gender vague videogame characters, or any you know or suspect as being gay or lesbian?
