Torchlight
looked at this awhile ago.

Torchlight is a singleplayer game that is being developed with the creation of a Action RPG MMO. Developers from Diablo 1 & 2 and Fate and Mythos are in the team building the singleplayer project that will prep the MMO. The MMO is being funded by Perfect world and is hopefully able to appeal to both Asian and American players it will be F2P but with microtransctions.
I'm looking forward to his, cause I like diablo, not its excess gore, so this is like a graphically easy version of mythos. Mythos was my favorite game, so this development is of great excitement to me.

Wildfire Games
0 A.D. is a 3D rendition of essentially a historically accuate Rise of Rome. Sounds great. Will look into it. It will be released as freeware, with a free expansion. Hopefully the toolsets are powerful and lead to more unqiue and FREE creations.

News flash: uprising costs of MMOs
I have been thinking about costs for MMOs, and I wonder if it really should cost that much.
I mean, who actually started charging for MMOs? What do u get for paying moeny to them? A server costs a fraction of the cost at hand, the game should be able to pay for itself with a hundred thousand copies sold... yet, people pay to play a game online with more people...
i got into this MMO genre because everyone else was doing it, it does not seem to be worth the money, I'd rather try to kill people online with FPSs and such. I try to find every free MMO out there, and options seem to be running thin.
I find it hilarious that people buy MMOs and pay the monthly fee (updates are shabby just fyi, so I still dunno why they make u pay) and every expansion is another 20 dollars to play more of the game. A FPS and RTS have free multiplayer, I know they take less time to make, but still paying alot less for a game than a MMO.
Hopefully someone will be enlightened by this.
Long live Mythos (the original), and those games that know how to make people enjoy a game, not play for sport.
