My Friends

15Jun 09

Ok so I am going to tell you guys something very horrible, it may change how you feel about me.

I bought Soldier of Fortune Paypack on ps3 about a year ago

Why is my conscience so plagued by a video game?? Well , that is because this is one of the worst shooters ever made and I enjoyed it the first playthrough I was bored as hell that day so any game would have been good, but I still feel shame for having liked this game. After playing some better shooters again though I realized the terrible lapse in judgement I made in purchasing this. Yesterday I started the path to recovery by pawning this game off at a gamecrazy.

Please Everyone! Avoid this game! Yes sof 1 and 2 were great on pc, but this one is a different devloper. Not even the gore can save it. I read the reviews of the game before buying it, but I was young and naive, I thought "it can't be that bad" and "maybe the gore will still be fun" BUUT OOO HOW WRONG I WAS!

To give you an idea of how bad this game is, on the pc version people are so bored with the game that for its online they made a mod to make all the characters naked. They are all men. Now you see the destructive force that this game can unleash on society!

I may have finally removed this abomination from my gaming library, however another game I have still refused to release me from its evil hold. This game is Madden 06. I try selling it I do!! 3 Times I have gone to gamestops and gamecrazys hoping to get rid of this, but they say no. A new madden comes out every week so they do not buy the old ones. How do I get rid of it!! I don't have the heart to just throw away a game and I can't sell it.... you see the game is evil and will cling onto my gaming library leeching away its awesomness until I can get rid of it.

Somebody save me from this game, no not a game, a football simulation, it's not a game I tell you!!! I should not have to memorize 50 football plays to play offense ! I want to play a game!!! not learn a sport!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHH

    Confession is good for the soul. Now that it is out that you enjoyed a playthrough of SOF Payback, you will sleep easier. As for Madden '06, have you ever done one of those white elephant gift exchanges for the holidays?

    HA! You got that right. I am with you 100%. Blades of Steel on the NES is still my fav sports game.

    I felt the same way as you when I bought Dynasty Warriors 6 and it was completely different, I traded it back in not long after. I may buy Tenchu Z (I am a huge fan of the series) but it got crappy reviews. I played the demo, not bad, but I am not sure.

    You could use the disk as a coaster, or perhaps as a frisbee? Have you ever stuck a CD or DVD in the microwave? Just put it shiny side up. While you're at it, it's also fun to cut grapes in half and microwave them.

    Custer's Revenge made me feel cheap, used & dirty. But in the good way.

    Does your parents house have a backyard? Are there twigs in this backyard? Do you have access to a match or a lighter? If you answered 'yes' to all these quesions your Madden 06 problem is solved.

    Just chuck the Madden away, it's worth all of $2 at best.

    The first SoF was pretty good, the whole shooting off body parts was new at the time, but after that the series went downhill fast.

    Yard sale, like red0584 said, is a good idea. And I've never heard of Soldier of Fortune

    Yes, MJoanne is correct. Good for your soul, my beloved friend. There, there (patting you on the back). Go the yardsale route. Someone will remove it and give you a (small) compinsation. My Mother's boyfriend works repairing HUD houses. He finds ALL KINDS of stuff. Some of which you'd find quite vulgar in nature. Some of which he keeps (including old video games, movies and porn). Some he trashes. Some he and Mom sell off to turn a quick buck via yardsale. And in this ravaged economy, you'd be surprised to find out how many people shop via yardsale. It'd definately help you part with your atrosities.

    Sorry you feel that way about Madden lol I used to play football so I knew the plays when I played the game.

    Or burn Madden NFL like what the Angry Nerd does to the crappy video games: stick into toaster, slice in half with katana, shoot cartridge with bow and arrow pushing it into a pit of fire, or throw it out through your window.

    Dont worry about the first one, Iv played many games most people hate and enjoyed them. If you have fun with something so be it.

    As for Madden, you could try selling it on ebay along with other games in a group as one whole item, if you have any other games you dont want.

    Heh, I'm sure we've all gone through our share of games we wish we never picked up. As for your madden issue, how about finding Donovan McNabb, get him to sign it, and sell it for money? Then again, at this point you probably won't get much for a signed copy anyway since he's a shadow of his former self.

    My personal favorite is to package it in an envelope, pick a name in a phone book (preferably out of town), and send them an anonymous gift! It never goes wrong! At least, until the police find your fingerprints, track you down, and cite you for sending a suspicious package= disturbing the peace and whatnot.

    Not that it's ever happened to me.

    I agree with you on Soldier of Fortune: Payback. The game really is horrible. I did a couple of videos of playing the game to show people how awful the game is. I'm thinking about playing it one day and finishing it, like some sort of a mental challenge.

    Doesn't Madden 06 have the "ask Madden" option when it comes time to call a play? That's usually what I do, simply because it's easier than scrolling through the plays to get the one I want, if I even have a preference. If you can't get rid of it, it will make a decent drink coaster.

    @red0584 meh too lazy
    @mjoanne Yea this terrible secret had been eating away at me for months. Hah, yes I have done that white elephant stuff before, but doubt I will be at any more any time soon.
    @ebbderelict Yea I enjoy less serious sports games like nfl blitz. Nfl Blitz on n64 was a ton of fun, you could completely ignore football rules and elbow drop downed players to your heart's content.

    @regulator0013 I haven't had a chance to play any ninja style games yet, but I do own shinobi and dynasty warriors 3 now. I need to find some time to start them.

    @grigjd3 What happens with a cd in the microwave? Does it just melt or explode in some cool fashion?

    @eggmcmuff never heard of that game b4

    @johnsteed7 Hmmmm

    @polsci1503 sof2 started off crappy but was awesome after the first few levels. It half-assedly tried to make you use stealth at the beginning.

    @tennis12master soldier of fortune just basically involves running around warehouses and cramped hallways blowing off lots of peoples limbs and faces. Mindless but fun.

    @nate1222 well the only thing i need to sell is that cursed madden game. So I would just have some sinister looking table set up with that game there. It would be like some bad movie, I could make an evil laugh and warn the buyer to beware of its curse. But they would not listen! and would buy it anyways and madden would decimate another person's mind.

    @bigd575 Yea if you knew the sport of football well it could be fun I guess.

    @Akatsuki398 I have never thrown out a game before, but this bunghole of a game may drive me to this.

    @wildcat2000 Being a lazyhoboguy, I do not have the energy to deal with selling to random buyers through ebay.

    @jt4mtb Since I do not like football much or know who that is, it may be difficult to track him down and make him sign a used ps2 game from 2006. @mprezzy I am a jerk sometimes but I am not going to randomly destroy some poor persons life like by sending them this atrocity.

    @jaykho213 LIES!!

    @sh4yo save yourself the pain man, just pawn that game

    @garey017 yea I think I remember that function. I find that annoying as well since the computer might as well play the rest of the game for me as well if I do that.

    @GodModeEnabled It doesnt deserve to leave the earth in such a cool fashion.

    @pacuuuuu3 yay lol

    @polarmanda well depends what I am learning

    Hahaha atleast with SoF you're a poster boy for the Gamestop ads they run instore.
    Madden considering its 4 years old you could'nt get much for it if they did accept it you're probably better off going to a real pawn shop. or just save a corner in your collection called stinkers and let it own that spot.
