My Friends

kaoken10's blog

  • 16Nov 07

Hey everybody, what's up? You may have noticed that I haven't been on for a while and I probably won't be on again for another while. Here's a list of half-assed reasons:

    -been busy

    -car stuff

    -work/money/distractions

-it's kinda too much for me to keep up with right now

-kinda burned out on this site/need a break

    -doing more volunteer stuffs lately

See? I told you they were half-assed. Anyway, I had to let go of my old car. Goodbye, Old Friend. Here's a picture of what my car looked like (not an picture of my actual car)

    volvo

    R.I.P White Lightning

I got a new car. It's a 2002 Honda Accord. It's a lot cooler than my old car, but now I have an expensive car payment like a big kid.

    Halloween:

Had a great time. Heather's party was a lot of fun. Then on Halloween day I came to work with a fake rubber pencil through my neck and blood running down my shirt. It grossed out everyone in my office. They were lining up to take pic of me with their cell phones. Then went to my friends' house to hand out some candy and happened to run into an old friend who now has a 3-year-old daughter she was taking trick or treating! Wow, all my friends are growing up.

Oh yeah, I carved a Rock Lee pumpkin and sent the pic into Anime News Network. I knew I wasn't going to win but I thought, what the hell. Check it out here. My entry is under my real name, Julie.

    Ninja Warrior:

    nagano

Spoilers from latest episode, Sasuke 19:

    ***SPOILER***

    TV stuff:

-The writers' strike sucks, but I totally understand why their doing it. As far as I understand, they want to get paid for people downloading their stuff on the internet. That's fair enough. Some actors get paid ridiculous sums of money, execs need to kick the writers a little somethin. Without writers, there'd be no story. Nothing to act, direct, produce... just give into them already. Especially the writers of Heroes, they're geniuses.

-Seth McFarlane is on strike with the writers. I heard Fox is going to go ahead with the episodes without him. Bad idea, Fox. I'd rather wait for McFarlane to come back than have a crappy Family Guy episode.

-They announced the date for the much-rumored Dragon Ball Movie, August 18, 2008. Hells yeah. I can't wait to see it. Even if it sucks.

    Work:

-Somehow I got on the Holiday party-planning committee. I didn't really want to, but whatever. So I'm trying to organize this years Non-demoninational Holiday Festivus Winter Gift Exchange (formerly Secret Santa).

-Boring meetings, boring everything. Servers keep crashing, other sucky stuff.

    Other stuff:

Oh yeah, I won a contest to go to a local chocolatier and see how the chocolates were made. It was AWESOME. We got champagne and all the free samples we could eat. Then a big gift bag full of tons of chocolate to take home. So if you live in or ear Maryland, check out Kirchmayr Chocolates.

I want Guitar Hero III and Rise of a Ninja very very very badly. But I dont have an XBox360 to play Rise of a Ninja on, so I have to stop wanting it. And I'm too broke to afford GH. As Buddha would say, desire is the source of all suffering.

I love talking to everyone, but I just need a break right now. So I hope everyone will understand. Scatha_guardian and Fairywings1981 have my email if you want to drop me a line. I check it often. (Scatha and Fairy- I hope you dont mind giving it out if someone asks.)

So that's about it. I'll be back eventually. Everyone take care of yourselves.

My apologies to everyoneI haven't been in touch with this week. I'm very busy trying to get this accident thing straightened out with the insurance company. It's not going well and I'm going to lose a sh!tload of money. I'm also trying to catch up on the work I missed. I will be back when I have some free time. Thanks for all the support.

Oh man, I was in a really bad car accident yesterday.

I was on my way to work and I had a green light and pulled into an intersection then POW! I never saw it coming. And I just thought "Oh fvck." And there was just glass and debris everywhere.

I couldn't believe it. I'm thinking "what just happened? This didn't really happen." Then I looked around. There were a few cars pulled over or parked in like the middle of the road blocking traffic. And people were getting out of their cars. My glasses had flown off my face when the car hit me and everything looked kinda fuzzy.

Then I saw that one of the cars had smoke coming out of it like mine and I thought "this must be the car that hit me. What happened? Was the light really green? I can't remember now." Then I got out of my car on the passenger's side so the cars on my left wouldn't hit me and a woman comes over to meand says "oh my god, are you alright?" And I say "yeah I'm fine." She said "that woman just ran the red light." Then a guy comes over and says he saw her run the light too. And I'm thinking "Oh thank god it's not my fault."

So I get out to see if the other person is okay. she said she was, but she looked even more shocked than me. She was probably in her 70s. The cops and paramedics came. I told them I was fine but they tookthe other womanto the hospital in an ambulance. The whole hood of her car was kind of crumpled and the front right side of mine was all smashed in. Neither car was drivable and they are probably both totaled.

So the good thing is that the cop said since it wasn't my fault her insurance company would have to pay for everything- my car, getting it towed, and renting a car till I can find a new one.

The woman didn't look like she was hurt, so I'm hoping she's okay. I have to go now and rent a car so I can get to work on Monday, so I'll try to catch up with everyone in a few days.

Well here's a little recap of what's been goin on with me. Let's see...

The caramel corn turned out pretty good. I won 2nd place, which I'm very happy with. I love to cook. Oh, but I burned my hand very badly making it. Be very careful with hot caramel. It'll take your skin right off.

The breast cancer race was alright. Very early in the morning and very crowded, but all for a good cause.

I'm trying to settle some things with my health insurance company. I don't understand their policies. It's complicated, and boring, but it ends up with me owing them almost $2000. Bad.

I started playing Diablo II. I played it about 6 years ago. Why am I playing such an old game? Cause shut up, it's good. Plus my bf never played it before, so we're playing it together.

My mom gets to go to Tuscany, Italy for a trip with her job. How lucky is that? All expenses paid and everything. I wish I could go. It's not until next June, so I think I might get her a digital camera for Christmas.

Meetings at work all this week. Most of them are mind-numbingly boring and have little to do with my job. But at least we get bagels.

That's about it. This blog needs a picture.

    There we go. Adorable.

That's right, I beat the game last night! The last stage was pretty difficult. I haven't played any of the other modes yet, like the missions or survival, so I will hold off on my review of the game. However, I will say that I wish the game had more characters. It only has 11 total and only 1 girl.

I haven't played this part of the game yet (because Sasuke is not in the story mode), but I thought you'd all enjoy this screenshot:

    takethatsasuke

I'm going to be mad busy this weekend. Saturday I'm going to try to make caramel corn for the potluck meeting. I volunteer there, so I have to get there early and help set up. Then Sunday I have the breast cancer race. Then I have to hand out balloons at the booth at the race with my company. And if I have time, I have to take my car to the mechanic. It keeps stalling at stoplights. Not good! But the car is literally almost 20 years old, so what do you expect?

Edit: Oh I forgot to mention that the girl I share an office with is now selling Mary Kay products. She keeps trying to sell me stuff or get me to go to a makeover party, which is totally not my sty1e. But she needs to practice, so I finally gave in and am letting her give me a makeover at work today. Wish me luck.

Still kinda busy at work, but I'm catching up. I will leave you with 2 questions:

    1. When is Deathnote coming to Cartoon Network?

    2. What should I be for Halloween?

This blog is color-coded for your enjoyment. And yes, I'm ripping off Wakai_Inago.

Hey I'll be online today but just for a little while. I've been kinda busy lately. So I'll tell you what I've been up to. But first here's the brand new Kaoken awards!...

As I mentioned in a previous blog, Merhimek is writing a cool story called Darkest Science. It's a very good story and I recommend everyone check it out. He's working hard on this and he'd like your support.

Scatha came through by getting the mods to unlock the Hurt and Heal games. Nice job, thanks Scatha!

Dear Abby recently came forward in support of gay marriage and gay rights. I commend her for standing up for the gay community. Respect is key to living in a civil society.

Okay, now a brief recap of my birthday weekend.

On Saturday I slept in, then went to my mom's house for lunch and cake. She gave me a Tomtom GPS system! I love it! Anyone who knows me knows I'm notorious for getting lost. Then I went to Heather's house where I hung out with her and her friends and learned that her boyfriend is pregnant. Congratulations Pat and Heather! Then I went out with some friends and my boyfriend for bday drinks. The great thing about going out on your birthday is that your friends wont let you pay for stuff.

Sundaymy bf took me out for sushi at our favorite sushi place. I don't eat fish, but I love vegetable sushi. We had lots of sake and plum wine. He got me way too much stuff. I got one of those super-soft robes, a teddy bear, Heroes season 1, and Arrested Development seasons 2 and 3. *happy dance*

    Other stuff:

Endei, I finally beat the bees and got out of the castle in Uzumaki Chronicles 2. I think I'm close to beating the game.

Yesterday I got a flu shot and I got real busy at work.

This Saturday I have a veg group meeting. I'm going to attempt to make caramel corn.

This Sunday I have the breast cancer race.

I'm pleased to hear that Darknaruto is staying on tv.com. I hope the whole thing wasn't a ploy to get people to ask him to stay. I have no respect for BS like that.

Hope everyone is well. What's new?

Hi guys. It's a long story but I'm there are issues at my job that have just come up. I'm really busyand probably wont have time to get on here until it's fixed. Sorry. For those of you who have my email, I will still be checking it. If you dont have my email, you can get it from fairywings or scatha. Be back as soon as I can.

    chuck norris cake

I guess my co-workers aren't such assbutts after all. So dinner w/ my mom tomorrow, then out with my friends. Then out with my bf on Sunday. Good stuff!

  • 2Oct 07

So I have DirecTV and they had this promotion a few months ago that was supposed to give us free pay per view movies. We never got them, so they offered to give us a free month of Showtime. It started yesterday and last night I watched a very cool show called Dexter.

It's told from the point of view of a guy that murders people who deserve it. What could be better than that? They totally stole my idea for a career.

    dexter

So if you have Showtime, check this show out.

I also caught Weeds last night, which I have seen before at friend's house. It was alright, but I guess I missed too many episodes and now I don't really know or care what's going on. Although I'm crazy about the theme song.

And in current events, I got an email forwarded to me that someone found 5 puppies in the middle of a road and are trying to find homes for them. So this woman I work with is interested but I cant get in touch with the person with the puppies. So now this woman at work is emailing me literally every 15 minutes asking if I've heard from her yet. It's very annoying. Like those people that blow up your phone trying to get weed......I imagine. Now she wants me to call all the local animal shelters and ask if they've been turned in. No. No no no. Chill. Doesn't she know how busy I am? ....oh wait.

Also, I'm feeling much better today. I should be back to normal by the weekend. I almost typed "back to naruto by the weekend." I do that with every word that starts with N.

So I was up till like 2am with this massive headache. I thought my skull was gonna split. Still congested/coughing. I wonder if I have the flu.

That's about it. Aren't you glad I shared all that with you?

I DID IT! I BEAT THE PUPPETS! And it's all thanks to Endei and his brilliant strategy!

Everyone please form an orderly line and give Endei the baked good of your choice!

    *may contain game spoilers*

I rushed in there and filled the place with shadow clones until I was able to go Kyuubi. Then, instead of running around aimlessly on a rampage, I used to button that locks on to your opponent to make sure they got the full brunt of the Kyuubi's wrath! Then, when it ran out, I knew just one hit would kill me so I ran away from them. But the whole time I was running, I was making clones to fight for me! Then Naruto died and Shika died and let's just say I got really good playing as Kankuro. The cool part about Kankuro is that you can reach his puppet out to grab stuff for you.

Anyway, I'll never go on another mission unprepared again. I'm so glad I didnt have to start the whole damn thing over.

Everyone please BOW DOWN TO ENDEI and his MAD SKILLZ!!!!

I really need help with Uzumaki Chronicles 2. I've gotten myself into a tight spot. I'm in the room in the 2nd level with all the puppets. I saved right before I went in the room, but all 3 of my characters have almost no life left. Every time I go in that room I get my ass handed to me and die. The only way I can beat these puppets is if I get back to Konaha and restore my life. Is there any way I can get back to Konaha without finishing the mission?

    PLEASE HELP ME OUT!

Soooooooooo, I took my film to get developed last night and the guy says it'll be like an hour. So instead of driving all the way back home I decide to cash my check and bum around the shopping center for a while. One thing lead to another and I end up buying Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles 2.

    leeuzumaki chronicles 2

I'm not a gamer at all. I played a hell of a lot of Nintendo when I was a kid, like any good 80s child, and I love Tetris. I've also been known to dabble in computer games like Diablo and Arcanum, but I'm not in the gamer scene, so I dont keep up with game stuffs. Oh and I'm a closet DDR player.

Also, I own the crappiest PS2 on earth. It doesnt always work. It was on it's last legs 2 years ago when I traded illicit substances for it.

Anyway, I only got to play for like and hour and a half last night but it's a decent game so far. Although non-Naruto fans might not like it as much. And so far I dont think it compares to DBZ Budokai 3 or Tenkaichi.

What else is new, you ask? I'm sick. Runny nose, cough, etc. But I want to save my sick days for faking sick and doing fun stuff, so I came to work.

Oh and my friend is now using her tv.com account. Her name is fairywings1981. It's step 1 in my plot to overrun tv.com with anime-loving adults. Give her some love.

So what's new with you guys? Everyone have a good week? I some work to catch up on here at my stupid job, but I'm going to stop by as many blogs as I can.

You know what I suck at that I should really work on? Taking time to cool down before I say/do something that will get me in trouble. Want to hear an example? No? Too bad.

Today me and 2 of my coworkers were talking about Rosh Hashanah(a Jewish holiday)and Ramadan (a Muslim holiday). Both holidays fall on today, Sept 12, coincidentally. So this guy says "those Muslims are crazy enough without fasting for Ramadan." ....WTF? I said that I didnt think it was fair to say that all Muslims were crazy. I really like and respect this guy so I was disappointed in his comment. So I sat here getting angrier and angrier and just as I was about to call him a racist a-hole, he apologized. Good thing I didnt go off on him.

Unfortunatly, there are a lot of people that think all Muslims are terrorists. That's unfair and just not true. I think my coworker knows that, even though he made a thoughtless joke. We all remembered 9/11 yesterday and how tragic it was. But let's not forget that most Muslims are peaceful law-abiding people.

Some of you know about the poisoned food that came out of China. The other day another one of my coworkers said " I hate Chinese people." And "Chinese people eat cats."

Another woman using an internet dating site and said "when they match me with a white guy, I just delete it." If she doesnt want to date a white person, that's her personal business. But it's pretty rude to say that in front of white people. That's only one of the countless racial remarks this person has made about white people.

So what's your point Kaoken? My point is that some people consider it okay to be racist against certain groups of people. Like it's fashionable. But it's not cool to say bad things about Muslims, Chinese, whites, homosexuals, Latinos or anyone else just because they're the "outcast of the day."Some bad sh!t inhistory could have been avoided if people didnt go along with the crowd.

But I dont want to make a whole blogpointing the finger at other people. So I gotta work on cooling down and not letting that stuff get to me. Losing my temper only gets me in trouble.

And if you have to say something racist, at least make it funny.

Hey guys, here's some more of those crazy laws. These are for Louisiana so, Scatha, watch your step!

    Louisiana

    · An old ordinance declares goatees illegal unless you first pay a special license fee for the privilege of wearing one in public.

    · It is against state law to steal even a single crawfish.

    · It is illegal to gargle in public places.

    · It is illegal to shoot at the bank teller with a water pistol.

    · It illegal for a woman to drive a car unless her husband is waving a flag in front of it.

    · It is illegal in Lafayette, Louisiana to play a musical instrument for the purpose of attracting attention, without a license.

    · You may not tie an alligator to a fire hydrant.

    • Snoring is prohibited unless all bedroom windows are closed and securely locked.

So Scatha, shave that goatee or I'm making a citizen's arrest. I want to be able to walk the streets safely without worrying about seeing goatees or hearing snoring.

ALso, thanks to the people who listed me as one of their favorite users. If I was on your list and I missed it, sorry bout that. I'm not making one of those lists because I love everyone equally. Except Urbano, who everyone knows I hate with a passion.

EDIT: For those of you tracking takeahint5786, check out her icon in your tracked blogs. See anything you like???

    It's a PENIS

    LOL I'm so immature!

My friend found this website with a bunch of crazy old laws and send me these. Check it out:

    Arizona
    Donkeys cannot sleep in bathtubs.
Cars may not be driven in reverse.
If you bother the cottontails or bullfrogs, you will be fined.
    Hunting camels is prohibited.
It is illegal for men and women over the age of 18 to have less than one missing tooth visible when smiling.
It is unlawful to refuse a person a glass of water.
A decree declares that anyone caught stealing soap must wash himself with it until it is all used up.
An ordinance prohibits the wearing of suspenders. No one is permitted to ride their horse up the stairs of the county court house.
There is a possible 25 years in prison for cutting down a cactus.
    Women may not wear pants.

LOL! So if you're planning a trip to Arizona to hunt camels in your suspenders, you are out of luck my friend.

Also, this weekend is my boyfriend's birthday so you wont see too much of me.
