  Best Bang for my buck combo

  I'm looking to buy a series of games with some coupons and deals I have, and I'm looking for input as to which games would compliment my playing style. So far, I've narrowed it down to Gran Turismo 5, (Game X), (Game Y), and a controller. I love solo shooters, rpg, and platformers, but am unsure which games in these categories lives up to their hype. I've looked into Little Big Planet, Red Dead Redemption, Resident Evil 5, Borderlands, Uncharted 1 and 2. I've played a few mintues worht of at least half of those games, but I'm not fully aware of their multiplayer capablities and replayablity. I like to have a few people over and play exciting games, but I also spend a lot of time on the sticks by myself. Does one of these games, or any unmentioned game, have what it takes to be my next buy? Im open to any suggestions or comments on these games
