Welcome to Julian's blog

8Jan 10Well the past two days have been snow days for me which mean a 4 day weekend!
It's been my first two snow days of the decades.
I've been playing a lot of Modern Warfare 2 since I got the snow days, and today I rediscovered what I was good at in the old CoD4: headquarters. I've had Modern Warfare 2 for quite a while now, although I had never played headquarters up until now for some reason I don't even know.
I decided to give it a try in this game, and just like in CoD4, I was killing everyone, and being one of the top defenders. I had forgotten how much fun it was trying to defend the headquarters from the other team, and having to play smart in order to survive while defending. This has led me to wonder why I didn't bother playing it until now, I've always been about average at all the other game modes (aside from the 3rd person ones), but in most of the other ones a lot of confrontations were more long distance firefights or being shot from behind. In headquarters a good portion of the fighting is close mid-close range which is where I can do really good using my favorite gun: the Tar, and I can usually expect where the enemies are coming from.
Well looks like I've gone on talking more than I expected about how I just now got back to playing headquarters in CoD.
Overall for those who don't want to read the whole blog, I had my first two snow days and have been playing Modern Warfare 2 a lot. -

29Dec 09So this year I lost to NFS102 in our annual Christmas gift competition. He beat my gift with this design: I'm gonna have to wear that till next year.
Actually I don't care much since I'll just turn off sigs till next year.
So enough about that, let's talk about the user himself. Interesting facts about him: his GS nickname is Steamy, no one knows the true meaning of what NFS is supposed to really stand for
, he likes UK 8), he plays tennis, and he lives about an hour away from where I live although I found out about this only like a month ago which is kinda weird.
NFS has lived a tough life compared to many others. He braves the streets in the big city every day, in his journey to the local tennis courts. He's goal: win state at playing tennis. I heard rumors that his disappearance earlier this year was actually that he got shot on the way to courts, by his coach after losing a match. He has yet to admit any of this is true, but regardless of what he says, he's got a tough goal in his life. You can expect to see this guy in the Olympics several years from now you guys.8) -

19Dec 09Have you ever noticed that the first day that it snows outside there's always several people that you know that are freaking out about it, like the apocalypse is coming?
Today it snowed early in the morning and I noticed several people were all like "IT'S SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and they react like that every year.

18Dec 09Well my Christmas Break finally started. 8) It's kinda sad in a way though, since I was thinking today "gosh I've only got one more semester of high school left." I don't know what I'm gonna do yet this break, although I've always liked Christmas Break the most. You all can expect to see me around a bit more now that exams are over.

-
17Dec 09Well without including today, I've got just 1 more day left before having Christmas break. I'm not sure what I'm gonna get this year, although I'm still excited that Christmas is coming. Throughout the past few years I've started liking the holiday more because of just the spirit instead of because of the presents, I've came to not care that much about presents.
This school year has been flying though, it feels as though it just started and we're already halfway done with the school year.
Next year around this time I'll be a million times more stressed about finals than I am now, when I'm in college I bet. -
16Dec 09Well today I killed my calculus and computer exams. 8) Today was pretty much my hardest day for finals exams, and it's finally done. Now all I've got left pretty much is English which shouldn't be too hard thanks to sparknotes
and weightlifting where apparently the coach just makes us do a current event for some reason and then basketball the rest of the two hours. 8) We've got the best game ever set up for the day of my weighlifting exam. 8) -

14Dec 09Well I've returned from my last ever beta convention. It was amazing, and a lot of fun. I'm gonna miss it next year, although I can gladly say I got to do it in high school. Also this year I can say I helped out more than usual since I was involved in a campaign skit where we performed it in front of like 1500 - 2000 people or so and I was the main character in it so I was the spotlight. Our skit ended up being the best one and even got a first place plaque which was really cool.
Aside from all this I've got finals this week.

9Dec 09Well I had a concert last Tuesday! It was my first ever choir concert and it was a major success. All the choirs were extremely good and the concert was a success!
Well now tomorrow I've got another concert although this next one is a band concert. I've had tons of band concerts so I already know what to expect from experience. We should do alright, although I doubt it will be as good as the choir concert since the choirs at my school are amazing. Still, it should be a decent concert.
This week has been a really musical week for me.
I'm ready for a break. -
8Dec 09So in one of my classes in school, my teacher has decided that she is going to be teaching all the students in the class (including me) how to create blogs.
The teacher doesn't know that I've been doing blogs for over two years now though.
I love computer class, one of the easiest classes I've ever taken.

7Dec 09Today was the first time this winter I've seen snow outside! I woke up this morning and it was snowing outside and there was a small layer of snow on the ground!
It was pretty nice, since this morning it was "cold with a purpose."
Aside from snow however, I haven't had much time to think on what I want to get this year for Christmas or what to get other people. I've been wondering whether to just get some clothes or perhaps get some new game (possibly Dragon Age since I hear it's good). I'm not sure though since I recently got Modern Warfare 2 like two or three weeks ago and I've been playing that lately.
What are you all planning on getting for Christmas this year? -
28Nov 09So I decided to create a countdown of the top 10 users that have affected me in GS. These are the users that I most look up to in GS and have learned from in this site. If it wasn't for these people chances are I'd probably act different. A lot of them chances are you haven't heard of and many aren't around anymore. I've never really done a countdown blog like this before, so bear with me as I try to do one.
#10 serbsta69
Level 28 - Banned
Serb was the founder of Sector 7 and leader Graphic Design Union when they were both in their prime. He got banned about this time two years ago so not many people will remember him, although at the time when he was around, Graphic Design was one of the biggest designing unions out there and he was well known in the GS community. He was one of the users that I used to look up to in the past, and became his officer shortly before he got banned at GS. He influenced me a lot by being part of the reason how I started to post a lot.
#9 -Masterchef-
Level 36 Radical Ninja
-MC- is a user that I never got to know really well in this site, although of all the designers on this site, he's always been the designer that I've always thought most highly of. His designs are extremely good, and of all the designers that have been around in GS, this guy has been one of the best since I was here. He is responsible for my current avy and sig, as well as a couple other designs that I've requested from him in the past. I don't know if he is still around in GS or not, although he is an extremely talented designer.
#8 mewantcookie
Level 28 Bionic Commando
Cookie was one of the first users that I became friends with on GS. We both met at The Elder Scrolls Fan Union and it was there where for the first year of my time in GS I was around. We were both around pretty much from the very start of the union and got to see it grow into the biggest Elder Scrolls union in GS and we both were officers at the union for most of its GS life. Aside from being friends on GS, we were also rivals. Cookie's been the only user on GS that I've ever considered as a rival on this site, and at the same time he was a great friend, who has pretty much left the site.
#7 hsedai
Level 19 Gitaroo Man
Sedai was a user that randomly joined the Social Cafe Union back when it was still relatively new and was still growing rapidly. When he joined, he quickly started to stand out from other users. Sedai was the funniest user I've ever seen on this site, he was the only user I've seen actually make me laugh by reading his posts. He ended up becoming the fastest user to become an officer at the Social Cafe Union, and has been the lowest leveled user to be one (and is still right now even though he left GS still a lower level than all the current officers). He was one of those users that stands out right from the start amongst the other users. He influenced me a lot in how the SCU is today, due to making it a lot more laid back.
#6 lancelot200
Level 48 Mr. Domino
lance is a user that I first met when I started doing the top 25 union views list in the summer of 2008. He would often post in my blogs, and I started to get to know him a little. Eventually, he ended up joining the Social Cafe Union that summer, and that was when I really started to get to know him. He's one of the wisest users on this site that I know of (or at least acts like it pretty often
). He ended up becoming an officer at my union and has always been someone that I can ask for input. He has always given me a lot of advice on union matters, and is someone that I've always looked for ideas.
#5 Racer_XLR
Level 35 Stitches
Racer has been one of the oldest members in my union, and has pretty much been around since the start of it. When we first started the Social Cafe Union, he was a much newer member on the site and barely had any posts. As the union started growing, he posted a lot for the union's first summer, and was one of the most active posters the union had. Shortly after though, he became more of a lurker and is still one to this day and is probably lurking this blog right now reading about himself. He's been pretty much the officer in the SCU that I've always been able to count on. He's taught me that lurkers can be cool.

#4 double_decker
Level 37 Heiankyo Alien
Number six on the countdown is none other than D_D! If it wasn't for this guy, chances are I would never have posted so much, or wanted a UCB enough but be too cheap to end up creating the Social Cafe Union.
D_D is one of the coolest users in all of GS, and is who really got me posting. He's the type of guy that you can end up spending a long time talking to without noticing the time fly. 8) He is also the owner of none other than the Open Communication Center which is one of gamespot's biggest UCBs and is today's most active UCB around. It's a really great board that I highly recommend to people.
#3 lettuceman44
Level 35 Stitches
lettuce was another user that I met soon after joining GS who was a part of The Elder Scrolls Fan Union. He was another officer for the union, while it was in GS, and was there pretty much since the start of the union as well. We always used to argue over a lot of things, especially pc's vs. consoles. However, we also worked together in a lot of things, and after The Elder Scrolls Fan Union left GS and went off-site, him and I were pretty much the lead moderators there for a while. Eventually, I ended up becoming the admin of the off-site TESFU and he became my second in command. This was where I ended up learning a lot on managing actual forums and sites, which helped me out in creating the SCU. After I left the off-site TESFU, lettuce became the new admin of The Elder Scrolls Fan Union. That was also when I returned to GS in the spring and decided to create the Social Cafe Union. He's not around much on this site anymore, although he's a really cool user once you manage to get past his being an extreme pc fanboy.
#2 fastesttruck
Level 41 Thunder Force
fastest has been a user that I've known well pretty much since I returned to GS in the spring of 2008. He's the only user I know to love statistics more than me.
Before I got to know him, I had always thought of him as one of those users bound to be a mod some day. He was known throughout the site for his top 25 lists, as well as The Emblems Union. fastest has always been a user that has loved competing, and it was partly due to him why the Social Cafe Union became so successful. He influenced me a lot with posting, and when it comes to stats. Aside from all this though, he is a really great user on this site, and one that I have posted with a ton (probably more than any other user).
#1 hendrix29
Level 34 Paramecium
Of all the users I've met on GS, hendrix will always be the user that I most looked up to on this site and learned most from. hendrix was the founder of The Elder Scrolls Fan Union, and the person who I learned most from when it comes to leading unions. I guess in a way you could say he was the Sensei and I was the student, since a lot of the things I do today with the SCU come from this user. hendrix was a user that I got to know when I was still pretty much a noob on GS, and eventually I ended up becoming one of his officers at TESFU while it was still on GS. I learned a lot watching the types of ways hendrix would create activity with TESFU in order to make it keep growing, and by the end of the first year of The Elder Scrolls Fan Union's time, hendrix decided to take the union off-site due to getting disappointed with how GS was never going to bother much more with unions. When TESFU went off-site, hendrix remained as the admin for a while, until he retired from the site and gave me leadership over the site. I give credit to hendrix for how I run the Social Cafe Union today. -

22Nov 09Well I just now noticed the my feed thing in my profile is glitched and is showing all the past feeds that have occurred since August 31. I wouldn't have noticed, but I was gonna go check my unions page and it took forever to get to the bottom of the page where they're at cause of it.

Aside from that however, I ended up getting Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 last Friday. It was a surprise, since I wasn't planning on getting the game, and then suddenly that day my dad came home with the game. I'm not complaining however.
The game is really good and lives up to its name, I like all the new features in the game. This past weekend I've pretty much just been playing the story mode for the game. I beat it in the easiest mode in like 5 hours, although now I'm re-doing the story on veteran. 8)
Finally, I'd like to ask those who read my blogs, would you be interested in getting interviewed? This would be for my union, it's a feature that we used to do that I want to restart. Also, for those that might be interested, this Wednesday at my union we are going to be hosting a post-a-ton event, so for those that enjoy posting in the boards and just having a general good time relaxing on GS, you're more than welcome to join in. Anyone can post in the union board, even if you're not a member of the union. Here is the link to my union for those that don't know it and I hope to see some of you all there.

20Nov 09Well I got tagged like a couple weeks ago and felt like doing the thing. I post 5 facts about myself I think right? If not then oh well, that's what I'm doing.

1. I run cross country.
2. I run track and field
3. I used to play soccer.
4. I play the saxophone in concert band.
5. I play the snare drum in marching band.
Well that was pretty easy.
Well I'm gonna tag only two people and they are: -
8Nov 09Well I finally returned to GS after like a 3 month break from the site. I guess you could say I had gotten burned out from the site. I did quite a lot outside of GS, mostly with school. Senior year has been great so far! Also, I got accepted into the university that I want to go to a few weeks ago, so aside from getting scholarships and such, I'm pretty much set on my future for the next few years.

Well my plans now that I'm back in GS are to revive my union, the Social Cafe Union to what it used to be like. That's where I'll mostly be in GS until it gets improved.
Well ugh... I don't know how to end this blog.
So bye.
