It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Today was the first time this winter I've seen snow outside! I woke up this morning and it was snowing outside and there was a small layer of snow on the ground!
It was pretty nice, since this morning it was "cold with a purpose."
Aside from snow however, I haven't had much time to think on what I want to get this year for Christmas or what to get other people. I've been wondering whether to just get some clothes or perhaps get some new game (possibly Dragon Age since I hear it's good). I'm not sure though since I recently got Modern Warfare 2 like two or three weeks ago and I've been playing that lately.
What are you all planning on getting for Christmas this year?- Posted Dec 7, 2009 7:37 pm PT

60K Posts
Well looks like I've hit another GS milestone. It took me like 8 months to go from 50K to 60K though.
I created a post party and here's the link. Hope to see you all there.- Posted Dec 1, 2009 7:20 pm PT

Top 10 GS Users Who Have Influenced Me
So I decided to create a countdown of the top 10 users that have affected me in GS. These are the users that I most look up to in GS and have learned from in this site. If it wasn't for these people chances are I'd probably act different. A lot of them chances are you haven't heard of and many aren't around anymore. I've never really done a countdown blog like this before, so bear with me as I try to do one.
#10 serbsta69
Level 28 - Banned
Serb was the founder of Sector 7 and leader Graphic Design Union when they were both in their prime. He got banned about this time two years ago so not many people will remember him, although at the time when he was around, Graphic Design was one of the biggest designing unions out there and he was well known in the GS community. He was one of the users that I used to look up to in the past, and became his officer shortly before he got banned at GS. He influenced me a lot by being part of the reason how I started to post a lot.
#9 -Masterchef-
Level 36 Radical Ninja
-MC- is a user that I never got to know really well in this site, although of all the designers on this site, he's always been the designer that I've always thought most highly of. His designs are extremely good, and of all the designers that have been around in GS, this guy has been one of the best since I was here. He is responsible for my current avy and sig, as well as a couple other designs that I've requested from him in the past. I don't know if he is still around in GS or not, although he is an extremely talented designer.

Level 28 Bionic Commando
Cookie was one of the first users that I became friends with on GS. We both met at The Elder Scrolls Fan Union and it was there where for the first year of my time in GS I was around. We were both around pretty much from the very start of the union and got to see it grow into the biggest Elder Scrolls union in GS and we both were officers at the union for most of its GS life. Aside from being friends on GS, we were also rivals. Cookie's been the only user on GS that I've ever considered as a rival on this site, and at the same time he was a great friend, who has pretty much left the site.
#7 hsedai
Level 19 Gitaroo Man
Sedai was a user that randomly joined the Social Cafe Union back when it was still relatively new and was still growing rapidly. When he joined, he quickly started to stand out from other users. Sedai was the funniest user I've ever seen on this site, he was the only user I've seen actually make me laugh by reading his posts. He ended up becoming the fastest user to become an officer at the Social Cafe Union, and has been the lowest leveled user to be one (and is still right now even though he left GS still a lower level than all the current officers). He was one of those users that stands out right from the start amongst the other users. He influenced me a lot in how the SCU is today, due to making it a lot more laid back.
#6 lancelot200
Level 48 Mr. Domino
lance is a user that I first met when I started doing the top 25 union views list in the summer of 2008. He would often post in my blogs, and I started to get to know him a little. Eventually, he ended up joining the Social Cafe Union that summer, and that was when I really started to get to know him. He's one of the wisest users on this site that I know of (or at least acts like it pretty often
). He ended up becoming an officer at my union and has always been someone that I can ask for input. He has always given me a lot of advice on union matters, and is someone that I've always looked for ideas.
#5 Racer_XLR
Level 35 Stitches
Racer has been one of the oldest members in my union, and has pretty much been around since the start of it. When we first started the Social Cafe Union, he was a much newer member on the site and barely had any posts. As the union started growing, he posted a lot for the union's first summer, and was one of the most active posters the union had. Shortly after though, he became more of a lurker and is still one to this day and is probably lurking this blog right now reading about himself. He's been pretty much the officer in the SCU that I've always been able to count on. He's taught me that lurkers can be cool.

Level 37 Heiankyo Alien
Number six on the countdown is none other than D_D! If it wasn't for this guy, chances are I would never have posted so much, or wanted a UCB enough but be too cheap to end up creating the Social Cafe Union.
D_D is one of the coolest users in all of GS, and is who really got me posting. He's the type of guy that you can end up spending a long time talking to without noticing the time fly.
He is also the owner of none other than the Open Communication Center which is one of gamespot's biggest UCBs and is today's most active UCB around. It's a really great board that I highly recommend to people.
#3 lettuceman44
Level 35 Stitches
lettuce was another user that I met soon after joining GS who was a part of The Elder Scrolls Fan Union. He was another officer for the union, while it was in GS, and was there pretty much since the start of the union as well. We always used to argue over a lot of things, especially pc's vs. consoles. However, we also worked together in a lot of things, and after The Elder Scrolls Fan Union left GS and went off-site, him and I were pretty much the lead moderators there for a while. Eventually, I ended up becoming the admin of the off-site TESFU and he became my second in command. This was where I ended up learning a lot on managing actual forums and sites, which helped me out in creating the SCU. After I left the off-site TESFU, lettuce became the new admin of The Elder Scrolls Fan Union. That was also when I returned to GS in the spring and decided to create the Social Cafe Union. He's not around much on this site anymore, although he's a really cool user once you manage to get past his being an extreme pc fanboy.
#2 fastesttruck
Level 41 Thunder Force
fastest has been a user that I've known well pretty much since I returned to GS in the spring of 2008. He's the only user I know to love statistics more than me.
Before I got to know him, I had always thought of him as one of those users bound to be a mod some day. He was known throughout the site for his top 25 lists, as well as The Emblems Union. fastest has always been a user that has loved competing, and it was partly due to him why the Social Cafe Union became so successful. He influenced me a lot with posting, and when it comes to stats. Aside from all this though, he is a really great user on this site, and one that I have posted with a ton (probably more than any other user).
#1 hendrix29
Level 34 Paramecium
Of all the users I've met on GS, hendrix will always be the user that I most looked up to on this site and learned most from. hendrix was the founder of The Elder Scrolls Fan Union, and the person who I learned most from when it comes to leading unions. I guess in a way you could say he was the Sensei and I was the student, since a lot of the things I do today with the SCU come from this user. hendrix was a user that I got to know when I was still pretty much a noob on GS, and eventually I ended up becoming one of his officers at TESFU while it was still on GS. I learned a lot watching the types of ways hendrix would create activity with TESFU in order to make it keep growing, and by the end of the first year of The Elder Scrolls Fan Union's time, hendrix decided to take the union off-site due to getting disappointed with how GS was never going to bother much more with unions. When TESFU went off-site, hendrix remained as the admin for a while, until he retired from the site and gave me leadership over the site. I give credit to hendrix for how I run the Social Cafe Union today.- Posted Nov 28, 2009 11:29 pm PT
