is it just me?
I don't know if im just growing up, but im getting bored of all the new games, I bought gears of war 2, godfather 2, brothers in arms HH and a few other big name games, and sadly, im bored by them. Every game seems the same, nothing is different about them, I bought spore, and whilst I liked it, it really wasn't anything ground breaking, I bought crysis and while its graphics made my mouth salivate, all it was.... was another shooting game.
Perhaps Im just sick of playing the same type of game, over and over, and notice little things that other games have stolen from other games, (gears of war = killswitch had cover long before it they didn't invent it!) god father 2 trys to be like gta only gives you the optionto be "the don" while it is good and fun, its kind of broken and very simplified, they give you a tutorial and make you think your being overwelmed, but really its simple and easy to use.
Iused toplay a game, I think it was called universal combat, It was awesome, you needed a 400 page manual to learn how to play the game and you needed a cheat sheet for controls in front of you. The things you could do in that game were limitless, you could travel the universe and land on every single planet, I could go on and on about universal combat but i'd get mad, because there isn't a market for games like that, only 4 out of who knows how many gamers appriciate having to read a 400 page game manual just to enjoy a game. But mabye thats the problem, games are too simple now and days, 10 hours to complete a game is just rediculous when I used to be able to spend 40 or 50 hours replaying some of the games on pc back in the day! and they were at least fun to replay!
Granted graphics have gotten better, and some game play features are really cool (making a very acurate representation of yourself in an rpg is really cool), some things are getting stupid... Like the endless amount of shooters out there, and if it doesn't have a "cover button" its no fun, I was suprised brothers in arms had a cover button! this game is supposed to be realistic, and that really took me out of the game.
GTA was really fun, but I felt like I was playing gta 3 with better graphics, so much was simplified in that game it wasn't funny, I want to be able to have san andreas mixed with GTA 4, but unfortunatly alot of good ideas, arn't implemented well, and people complain when a game has something that "takes to long to do" or "isn't easy" mabye gamers attention spans have gotten worse over the years, put it this way... if you can't watch the entire movie "the stand" in one day, you have an attention problem. (The stand is a 6 hour movie, its actually pretty good)
Well, besides gaming, I have found a few solutions to my problem of being bored... I keep myself busy with house repairs, my girlfriend, and I have 2 parrot cockatiels (soon to get one more a blue fronted amazon parrot) and trust me, you want entertainment, and fun, get pet parrots, their full of personality, and a pain in the rear to take care of, not in a bad way... they just take up most of your time, cleaning cages and spending time with them (they need stimulation so you have to physically play with them and train them or else they may end up disliking you) Its pretty sad when entertainment thats supposed to "entertain" me is no longer doing that... Can I get my money back if im bored of a game? no... which sucks because I would be returning alot of my games because they are getting too repetitive to play...
Mabye older games were simpler, but they were alot more fun, and I think i may just have to take another break from gaming to appriciate those so called "games with a high review rating" because I just don't see what some of those reviewers see...

Check please!
Just a usual check in, Im still Alive, I think, I really havn't had time to play alot of video games latly, I have pretty much abandoned Xbox live, I havn't signed on in, 83 days or something like that, I bought mercenaries 2, but I really havn't enjoyed it thus far, its repeatitive and I want my 50 bucks back, that could have bought me 2, THATS RIGHT count it, 2 cases of beer...
So, besides that, nothing really is new, I have a house now finally, Music is going pretty damn good, were getting somewhere with black reign, at the same time not getting anywhere, we have an album artist whose doing a crazy amazing job on our album cover but unfortunatly, its an album that SHOULD have been released last year...
Its still sitting on my desktop haunting me.
Me and my buddy have been in the process of recording a grindcore/deathmetal album, guitars are thus far almost done, and mixed down, its sounding good (along the lines of pig destroyer meets dying fetus meets all shall parish kind of sound (minus the over used, over triggered drums)
anyways, Im alive, and not lazy, so alot of my post thus far (posted on mp3.com) will probably be about music instead of video games, cause I really have time for only one, and lets face it, video games arn't going to get rid of my beer gut!
