First, a TV.com update of sorts. I have now reached Level 41, which scares me when I think how much time I've spent on this site. And over the last few days I have been named trusted on a few guides. Firstly to the show Love Hina, a Japanese anime show I used to watch, and three three extremely talented actresses - Sonya Walger (Penelope Widmore in Lost), Australian Rose Byrne (from Sunshine, Troy and the series Damages) and finally the one I'm most proud of, Amanda Bynes (The Amanda Show, What I Like About You, Hairspray, She's The Man and Big Fat Liar) who actually appears twice in my banner. So my thanks to the four editors in question to appointing me as trusted.
Anyway, it's been a while since I made the first post of this list (about 6 or so weeks now). Had I known how busy I would have been over the last couple of months I would have waited until now to post the first part of my list. Finishing off my semester of uni was hectic, and involved me staying up to 3, 4, 5, once even 6 am finishing off essays and other projects. I'm just so happy I'm now on holidays. Anyway, Part 2 of my list of My Favourite 100 TV Shows Of All Time:-
90. Dancing With The Stars (Australia)

A mega-hit all over the world, the Australian version has run for seven seasons, and is currently on a break as they search for a new host after Daryl Somers decided to call it quits. As someone who can't dance (saying I had two left feet would be an insult to people with two left feet) it may be odd to see I watch this show, but I enjoy the format, and I can admire the achievements of the others.
89. At The Movies
First a long running series on the SBS, before moving across to the ABC in 2004, and I show that I am editor for here at TV.com. This show is essentially a movie review show, whereby each week the new release films are critiqued, discussed, and rated, as well as containing some interviews with directors/stars/writers/producers. The show is hosted by Australia's two most renowned film critics, Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton, who have been working together on this show for 22 years, making it one of the longest running shows in Australia. It is always good fun to watch them when they disagree with their opinion of a film - always entertaining.
88. Out Of Practice

An extremely short-lived comedy about a family of doctors, starring Henry Winkler, Stockard Channing and Ty Burrell. While not brilliant in any stretch of the imagination, I always had a laugh when I watched it (which meant finding it - as Channel 10 changed the day and time for it almost every week).
87. Saturday Disney

Ah, the memories. Every Saturday morning for about 8 years I would watch Saturday Disney, which would show Disney cartoons, run contests, conduct interviews, and other such things. It was pretty much taken as a given that everyone about my age watched this and it should be a requirement to pass childhood.
86. Invasion

A show that is quite capable of climbing 40 or 50 places on my list, but as it currently stands, I have only seen one episode. Yep, just one. Throughout our summer of 05/06 Channel 9 heavily advertised this show in almost every ad break, claiming a February launch. Well it never launched in February. But in about April or May Channel 9 once again began advertising the show extensively, listing it as Coming Soon, and hinting at a June/July launch. Well it didn't launch in June. Not even in July. Not even in 2006. Not ever. I was hooked as soon as I saw the first trailer for it, and I was so disappointed when it was not even given a chance here in Aus. But then skip ahead a bit, and in early 2007, the DVD of this series was scheduled for release in April 2007. Anyway, April came, and it was pushed back to June. Then June came, and it was pushed back to Unknown Release, where it has been ever since, until two weeks ago when it was listed as a September 10, 2008 release. Fingers crossed it will be released then.
Anyway, over the last few years I managed to get my hands on episode one, which I've seen and I loved it. I just wish I could see the other 21 episodes.
85. Medium

My opinions of this show have always been varied. While I enjoy it as I'm watching it, I have never gone out of my way to see it, and if something else is on I would watch that show over this. That being said I have only seen the first two seasons as Season 3 clashed with Prison Break, though I will buy the third season on DVD when it eventually comes out. My main criticsm of the show is with the lead, Patricia Arquette. I just don't think she is a good actress, and her character gets on my nerves quite a bit. It's the husband in the show I feel sorry for - I have no idea how he puts up with her behaviour.
84. 'Allo 'Allo

Great irreverent British comedy about cafe owner Rene in occupied France, who constantly serves food to the German troops, while hiding a couple of British airmen upstairs, putting up with his wife, and worried that she will find out about his many affairs with the waitresses. This is political incorrectness at its finest and an absolutely cla$$ic show that I would reccommend to anyone.
83. Home Improvement

Tim "The Toolman" Taylor is a complete walking disaster, and something goes wrong every time he touches a piece of equipment. This was a usually funny show to watch, if perhaps a little dated today. Tim Allen was great in the lead, and the rest of the cast, including a much smaller Pamela Anderson (and I'm not talking about her height) were good in support. The show probably went a little bit longer than it should have, and some of the episodes did seem similar, but I always got a kick out of it - aided by the fact that my father is even more pathetic at fixing things around the house.
82. The IT Crowd

This British show is about the nerds working in the IT department (located in the basement) of a large company building. Enter Jen, a career woman looking to move up in life, and as such, lies on her CV, and lands the post of manager of the IT department. Problem is, she barely knows how to turn a computer on, littleown manage the IT department. And for the geeks working in the department, they become too distracted to work due to the presence of a woman in their department. Good fun, but not hilarious.
81. Heartbeat

An extremely long-running British drama/soap, which has gone through countless cast changes over the years. It's set in the 1960's and focuses on the local police force, and the many issues surrounding the small country village of Aidensfield, where everybody knows each other's private business.

The other week after stumbling across someone's top 50 television show list, my father and I decided to develop our own top 100 shows list. While doing my list, I came to realise it was a real struggle to reach 100 shows, and as such there are a number of shows at the tail end of my list that really shouldn't be there. The other day I compared my list to my father's and was surprised that 19 of the shows in my top 30 were also in his top 30 (and 8 of his top 30 are shows made before I was born). I never realised how similar our tastes were.
Anyway, I decided to share this list by adding it to my blog here, by placing 10 shows at a time. Of note here is that these are my favourite shows of all time. There are shows on my list I would not watch today, but I judged them based from what I thought of them at the time.
Now to the part of the list I'm not proud of, 100th to 91st. Don't judge me on these shows, I do have better taste - honest!
100. The Sunday Roast

A Rugby League talk show hosted by Andrew Voss, Phil Gould, Matthew Johns and Matt Geyer. I love my rugby league and I always find this an interesting watch as they analyse the matches and complain against the rulings.
99. Micallef Tonight

Short-lived Australian variety show. While being a proper variety show, it also parodied the format. Highlights included the musical acts whereby Shaun Micallef insisted that the performers add a word to the song to prove they weren't lip-synccing. One episode he gave an extremely long introduction to Jamie Durie, only to dismiss him as soon as he came on set. Its cancellation came from the 'controversial' 13th episode, when in an interview with Ricky Martin, Martin uttered the f-word, before then asking if he could. Micallef said he could, and proceeded to say it a few times over the episode. This episode also took the mickey out of radio shock-jock Alan Jones, who was good friends with Channel 9 boss Kerry Packer, who instantly cancelled the show after the episode aired.
98. Firefly

Great sci-fi show with brilliant characters. Joss Whedon is a genious. Its low ranking comes from the fact I have only seen the movie and three episodes - but I will be buying the DVD to see the show properly.
97. Blue Water High

This is only on this list as I know one of the current stars. The show itself is cringe worthy, but as I didn't have 100 great shows, I decided to give it an honourary mention at the bottom of the list.
96. The Don Lane Show

Bert Newton at his absolute best. While I have never properly seen this popular variety show from the 70's and 80's, I have seen many highlights over the years. The funniest segments are when Bert Newton is 'road-teating' a new product, much as you would on an infomercial, but with one small difference - he never wanted to know how it worked, just how it didn't work which he would then exploit making for comedy gold.
95. Babar

One of my favourite shows when I was about 5 or 6 years old. I used to love coming home from school, flicking the television on, and watching Babar. I haven't seen it in about 13 years.
94. What's Up Doc?

A children's show which played Looney Tunes cartoons, as well as running competitions (which I reguarly entered, though never won) as well as interviews and the like. Good fun viewing when you are 7 years of age.
93. It Takes Two

Does to singing what Dancing With The Stars does for dancing. After tuning out in the first season, I have come to really like the show, and I closely followed the recent third season, as well as becoming editor for it here on TV.com. I have always been impressed by the great singing talent the show secures for its professional singers.
92. Sooty

Ah, now this brings back some great memories. I loved this puppet show when I was 4 to 7 years of age. I even owned life-size puppets of most of the characters. Sad, I know.
91. SeaQuest DSV

While I have no real memory of what actually happened in any of the episodes, I do remember enjoying watching the show. That and whenever I watch one of my favourite shows (which were recorded on VHS many many many years ago) there are so many advertisements for this show in the ad breaks and it always makes me reminisce about the show - and it always brings back fond memories.

In my last blog I promised to explain how my uni was screwing me over, and I know that you have been waiting intently to hear about it. No? Oh, well, you're going to hear about it anyway!
This semester, as part of my media degree, I have to do one prac and one theory media course. For the prac I could choose from Beginner Video, Advanced Video, Web Design or Sound. I had already done Beginner Video last year, and I don't think I'm good enough for advanced, and I loathe web design. So that really left me no choice; Sound. Not that it bothered me, I'm really interested to do it and I've really enjoyed working on sound designs for the videos I have made in the course. However, there was one little problem. I went to the class in the first week to discover that only one other student was doing it. Neither of us knew much about sound and thus on that basis I would have a fairly good chance of getting the top score in the subject. What's wrong with that? The uni won't allow a subject to continue with only two people.
That weekend I received an email from my teacher stating words to the effect that it will continue if we still want to do it (and there was a third member in the class too!). Relieved, I began to work on my project due for week two, only to then receive an email on the Monday night that the sound class had been cancelled, and I had to do either Beginner Video or Web Design as Advanced Video was full. And I had already done Beginner Video and couldn't pick it again. The thing that annoyed me the most was that on that Monday I had a lecture in that subject with the teacher who sent me the email (and she sent it only two hours after the lecture ended). It would have been so much better if she had informed us in the lecture as there was no way it was cancelled in those two hours and we could have spoken to her in person to discuss our options after the lecture (and if it was she would have known there was a high possibility and still could have asked us to the front at the end to discuss our options).
As you can imagine I was upset and angry by this and so wrote a rather scathing email to the lecturer (on reflection probably not the best thing to do as she teaches the Web Design component, the only one I'm able to do, and thus she will be marking my assignments...). Strangely, after reading my email suddenly she informed me that she had misread the information, and there was one place left in Advanced Video. Some coincidence, huh?! And I was also given the option of redoing Beginner Video. I chose to do the latter.
This just continues my run of luck that I haven't once ended up taken all the subjects I initially enrolled in in all five semesters at uni due to a stuff-up on the university's part.
On a TV.com note, I have gained four more editorships, the TV shows The Pinky And The Brain and its spinoff Pinky, Elmyra And The Brain as well as the Australian actress Yael Stone (All Saints) and the British actress Emilia Fox (Coupling, Silent Witness, Fallen Angel, Keeping Mum and Gunpowder, Treason & Plot).
And finally a shout out to all Australian users. After picking up today's The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) and reading the Seven Days segment I discovered that one of the girl's in my year in highschool is set to star in the new series of Blue Water High. The girl, I suppose you'd call her actress now, is Amy Beckwith and she is playing the role of Lauren Grove. So I ask all of you, if you can, to support her and watch the show (even though I've never seen it before, but I will watch it now). The show begins Thursday (yes, this Thursday) evening on the ABC at 5.30pm and runs for 30mins. I have included a picture of her below taken from the newspaper to help identify her in the show if you do watch it.

Well it has come that time again when another year has passed, meaning that I have been a member of this site for two years now. It's scary to think how much time I've spent on this site. I never thought I would have been a member here for 2 years (or on any website for that matter) while still keeping a huge interest in the site. In terms of this site, I've spent the last year improving the guides that I was editor for, as well as attaining a few new Australian shows, matched with the effort to keep them constantly updated. But it has all been good fun.
I even participated in Noahcrash's Cabin Fever 2 game - which was loads of fun, and I even managed to finish the runner-up in it which was a nice bonus. I have also hung around a couple of the show and character elimination games in the games forum. The area I put most of my non-submitting time into, and the place where most users would come across me, is the Ideas Forum, where, at least recently, I have tended to be rather negative towards a number of ideas (especially the more emblems threads!!). But despite that I love my time there and we tend to get decent discussions, and even the emblem threads produce some light humour.
But I thought I would take this time, not to complain about how my uni is screwing me over (I'll write that in my next blog), but to bring to attention my achievements over my two years here, as large or small as they may be in comparison to others. But then, most of you probably had achieved this within one year, but then I've always been one to do things slowly!

Just posting a blog to say that on Monday (Sunday if you live out of Australia) I will leaving on holiday, travelling up to the sunny (hopefully - but it has to be better than the rain drenched Sydney) Sunshine Coast in Queensland. I will be at Sunshine Beach, five minutes out of Noosa, for three weeks of relaxation, and, well, not much more. I do not know if I will have Internet access while I am gone, so I wish you all a great three weeks, and party hard!
If I get around to it I may post some pics of my trip when I get back.
In TV.com news, I have gained two new show editorships, the Australian news parody The Nation, hosted by Mick Molloy, and the new Australian drama series soon to commence, Sea Patrol, with Lisa McCune.
Also, when I just came on, I saw that I was on Level 1, but instead of the usual Level 1 bug, I was at Level 1 (10%). I've seen a few other people mention this on this site. Is it affecting any of you? And if so I hope it goes back to normal (for my sake as well, lol!)
See you, potentially, in three weeks time,
James Beauchamp

This is old news to Sydney siders, but last Friday (a week ago) Sydney was ravaged by fierce weather. Newcastle, three hours to the north of Sydney, was hit the hardest, but Sydney itself received a hefty battering. About eight people were killed, and quite a few injured, and many houses were damaged and thousands were without power after powerlines came down.
My high school was right near Sydney Harbour (you could see it from the classrooms). I was lucky enough to be driven to school every day by my mother, who would also drop my father off at Cremorne Point Wharf, and he would catch the ferry into the city for work. I too used that wharf many times, including on school excursions. However, the wharf was hit pretty badly by this storm. This is how the wharf now looks:-

Just a little damaged, hey. They say it will take a few months before the wharf is back in working order, and now our State Government has decided to look at the state of our other wharfs - long overdue. I just think it is awful that it takes something like this to happen for the government to decide that they should do some structural checks that should have been done about twenty years ago. This storm also saw part of a road collapse, killing five people in a car, and only now are they deciding to run checks on the safetyness of the road. Both disasters could have been easily prevented if the proper checks that should have been carried out years ago were actuallycarried out.
On a side note (but highly important) ~ I'm on HOLIDAYS!!!! Five and a half weeks! Queensland, here I come! I need to get away from the bitterness (temperature)of Sydney.

Well, after all the plugging I did for my video, "Dead Beat," it has now become the featured video of the week. I'm so proud. And I've doubled my view count in just one day! Anyway, must get back to my essay writing. I still have 1,000 words to write and only one night to do it.

Last Thursday I had my last day at uni for this semester, with the next semester commencing on July 23. My last day saw me having a consultation with my tutor over the essay that I have to write, followed by a 33 question short answer test, in which we only had 30 minutes - but it turned into an hour, but the subject was so easy ~ Australian Sport. Then I went to see Shrek The Third with some friends. A really taxing day, lol!
Most people have final exams, but luckily I picked the right subjects this semester and I don't even have one exam, which means an even longer holiday for me. However, I did have two essays due in after the end of session - one today (Tuesday - it has just ticked over to Wednesday here as I write this) and the other on Thursday. The bad thing is that each exam is worth 50% of my marks in each of the subjects. I 'finished' today's essay at 5.40 in the morning, but then made some changes, finishing it at 2.15 pm (it was due in by 4.00!) I finally handed it in at 3.30. See plenty of time, lol!
This just leaves one 2,500 word essay on road movies and its relation to both individual and national identity. Our major focus has to be on the Australian film Beneath Clouds but you have to use other movies as well. I'm planning on using Children Of Men, Easy Rider, Thelma And Louise and even War Of The Worlds. Any other suggestions would be great.
I can't wait untilI've finished this essay, though (not that I've started yet...). I have been really fed up with uni this session, partly because I've had to do a couple of subjects I didn't want to do (including the one that this essay is for), and I feel like I just need a break from it all.
In TV.com news I have gained three new people editorships (if only I devoted as much time to my uni work than I did to this site...). Firstly the legendary cricketer and commentator Richie Benaud, the Australian comedian Vince Sorrenti, and Ukrainian singer Tina Karol who performed in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest. Since seeing her there I have become a fan of her music and own many of her songs.
Also if anyone is interested in playing a new game in the TV.com forums, sign up for Cabin Fever 2. It is part Survivor, The Mole, Big Brother and tonnes of other shows. It is run by noahcrash, who did a great job hosting the first game, and he is looking for more people to sign up, so if you are interested or you know someone who may be then either sign up or let noahcrash know.
Hope everyone is well and having a great time.

Over the last few weeks, I have been making a number of submissions on new guides, seeing my reach the status of editor for some more shows and people. Firstly, I would like to thank both lozza1525 and JoeLostDharma, who both stepped aside from their editorships, entrusting me with the guides of It Takes Two and The Eurovision Song Contest respectively. The latter was the one I was the most happy about as I was the one who requested it to be added on this site last October. Also, once again to lozza1525, I also took over the guide of Michael Parkinson (I've really been stealing all your stuff haven't I, Amy! lol!).
Surprising as it may sound, but I also managed to gain some editorships that weren't 'stolen' from retiring editors. I also gained the Aussie reality show The Lost Tribes, the poor quality US version of the classic British show Coupling, and the great British actor Clive Swift, who is probably best known as Richard Bucket (pronounced Bouquet) from Keeping Up Appearances.
As to my uni life, I am now in my final week of session - I actually only have two days left now (Wednesday and Thursday) as I have Tuesday's and Friday's off (I have a hard life, don't I?!). But with two days left, my four courses are running at 90% Complete, 60% Complete, 50% Complete and 50% Complete. The two 50's each have an essay with 50% weighting due in next week (after uni has finished), and honestly, I don't know how I can pass either one. One of them is for the worst class I've ever done (Contemporary Approaches To Cinema) - it is so dry and mundane - it almost sends me to sleep. The other I have to discuss and analyse a media virus and explain, with theoretical backing, why it is a media virus. One week out, I still haven't settled on my virus. I am tempted to do The Secret, which is starting to spread like wildfire at the moment, but I've also thought about Santa Claus (and my father is really wanting me to do this - not that I would choose it based on his opinion) and I have also thought about children's advertising. Does anyone have any suggestions or possible input? It would be much appreciated, even if it is a brand new suggestion.
But I can't wait for uni to end this semester, it has been extremely hard and challenging (not in a good way) and I just need a break - and I'm going to Queensland (Noosa) for a couple of weeks which will be great!
And tonight I went to my first football match in over 18 months (and I call myself a die hard fan...), only to see my team, the Wests Tigers, who had won six in a row, get thrashed by Parramatta 38-8. Well, there's always next week, and this blog is getting too long and now no one will read it, so I'll stop my raving. Hope you all have a good week!
Oh, and please watch my video from my previous post if you have time (it's only a minute and a half). I would be interested to hear some feedback, that's all.

18May 07I have now posted my short film, entitled "Dead Beat" to my profile. This was a project that I did for uni. It had to be 60 seconds (though mine was actually 66 seconds - credits don't count), and it had to follow the theme "Recreate the moment after a crime". It was filmed on the south coast of New South Wales, and starred friends and family. I even make a cameo appearance in it if anyone ever wondered what I really look like (I bet it was well below your expectations! lol!). Please comment, even if you loathed it and would have preferred to watch the trifecta - the grass growing competition, the paint drying contest and tiddlywinks championship back-to-back. The link for the video is right here. Enjoy!

As a continuation from my previous blog, I have now added the list of top fifty movie one-liners from the special 20 To 1 (well actually 50 To 1) episode that screened on Tuesday night. You can view the list using this link (the list is under episode notes). You can't believe how long that took me to type it and format it correctly. I think on a whole it is a very good list, but I really think it needed the quintessential "I am your father" quote. That one line has been used and parodied countless times in numerous movies, TV shows, books, magazines, comics, news, etc.
Next week, hopefully, I will post up the short film I made for my media project at uni, if anyone is interested in watching something to fill in their time.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. I myself, will not be on here, or the Net for that matter, as I will be staying at my aunty and uncle's place as my parents are going to a wedding in Queensland.

One of the shows I am editor for, 20 To 1, is having a special episode on Tuesday where they will be counting down the top fifty movie one-liners of all time. So I thought I would take this opportunity to ask all of you what your favourite movie one-liners are. They can be from a movie from the 1920's or one you saw last week, a famous film, or one that is special to you.
I started a forum on the show's page here if you wish to involve yourself in a discussion, but I will warn you, there probably won't be many people involved in this discussion, as the only people who go to the show's page would be those of you who are reading this blog and you click the link.
Here is a list of 25 potentials that I have thought of:-

Last night while I was surfing the net I came across a page which mentioned a girl caught taking drugs who was a previous nominee of the Miss. Teen Australia Award. The name rang a bell. Anyway I checked it out by going to their site, and to cut a long story short I didn't know her. However, I found someone else on that site that I did know, a girl I went to school with almost eight years ago. A rather quick Google search later produced a fair amount of information about her - she was nominated for Miss. Teen Australia NSW, writes for her local paper, and won an award for community service. I was amazed firstly by everything that she had done, but secondly how easy it was to find all of that information. I then wondered, would someone be able to find anything out about me through a simple Google search?
So, I put my name in the search and returned a Prof. James Beauchamp, as well as a computer programmer James Beauchamp, and a child-sex offender with a middle name James, surname Beauchamp. I had known about all of these before. I then narrowed my search to pages from Australia, where one entry caught my eye. An entry from a dating website, with the following message:-
"19yr old virgin and very lonely - Chatswood - Sydney guys seeking girls.
My name is James Beauchamp, im 19 and studying at UNSW. I'm a good listener and very friendly."
Well, the name is the same as mine, the age is the same, the uni is the same, the location is almost the same, I've been told I'm a good listener...
Instantly I thought that one of my friends had done this as a practical joke. That wouldn't overly bother me. I mean I was angry at first, but I'd be able to laugh about it later. But I hadn't looked closely at the whole page, next to my name was a mobile number. MY mobile number. Suddenly I understood the unusual message I received on Sunday night from an unknown number ("Wanting some fun"). Now I love a good joke, and a practical joke can be great, especially if it is not at my expense, but I believe that this one went too far. Personal mobile numbers should not be used for those purposes in the given situation. What do you think?
I have kindly asked the site to take the page down, which they did promptly, though the message can still be seen (though without the mobile number) when you search James Beauchamp in Google - the link just won't take you to that page. But what should my next course of action be? I'm almost 100% certain who it was who did it, and half of me wants to get him back. My idea is to build on his, changing it from guy seeking girl to guy seeking guy as he is very homophobic. But the other half of me thinks that if I do that, he will top it, then I will top it, and so on, and we'll reach territory we shouldn't be crossing. Also I don't want people to think that I'm a person I'm not - that they search my name and find all of these hits which are about me, but written as a practical joke, and of course they won't believe me when I try and tell them. What do you think I should do?

It has been quite a while since my last blog post (over a month in fact), but I'm not someone who is overly interested in blogging, to tell the truth. Over the past month I have reached Level 23, 1,500 posts and gained a few more editorships, including the editorship for the Australian TV series Homicide, as the previous editor retired from their guide. I have also gained three person editorships. Firstly, a veteran Australian actor, Charles "Bud" Tingwell, whom you may know from Homicide, 20 To 1, the movie The Castle or the miniseries Changi. The other two were both Miss. Universe Australia contestants, firstly the crowned Miss. Universe Jennifer Hawkins, who now has a hosting job on The Great Outdoors, and secondly our controversial representative last year, Erin McNaught.
My university work has become very demanding and I have seriously thought about dropping it as I don't know where it is taking me and if I will ever use my degree. I don't want to go through three years of uni to then not use my degree. Now that would be a waste. Last week I had to hand in a 60 second short film that I had to make (individual assignment) with completly original footage and sound. I will post it up in my Videos section here as soon as I have received my marks for it, but I have received positive feedback from people in my course (even from people I don't know - which is a - hopefully - good sign).
It took a long while, but my football team posted its first win almost two weeks ago. The Wests Tigers defeated the Cronulla Sharks 14-12 in Golden Point Extra Time. We had lost our first four matches (including a 1-point loss, a 2-point loss and a Golden Point Extra Time loss - it is very rare to have one game go into extra time, littleown two in quick succession). We had the bye last week and play tomorrow night against the Canterbury Bulldogs, which will be a very tough match.
Well, that's about all from me. How have you all been this past month?

After making a few recent submissions I have now moved up to Level 22, officially making me a freak and a geek. Great, just what I always wanted...
However, though I have gained the percentage points for my accepted submissions, I have yet to gain the CP's on the guide for it. I'm hoping there may just be an extra day's delay, but I know that lots of people have recently had a problem with CP's not turning up on their guides.
I am now four weeks back at uni (though it feels like about fourteen - and I'm only there three days a week). I am hating almost every moment of it as I think my whole course is pointless. I can't see where it will take me for anything outside of uni. I just hope that I won't have ended up wasting three years of my life on a pointless uni degree that is never used.

17Mar 07On March 17, 2006, I joined this site as a member. I had a huge interest in television shows, and I had been coming to this site quite reguarly, mainly to look up information for Lost, and after a while I finally decided that I should join this site. I never would have intended on being here twelve months later, little own being active on the site for much of it. I didn't make my first submission on this site until April 27 (and it was approved!), but as soon as I started, I couldn't stop making submissions. Without trying to toot my own horn, I have detailed below all of my achievements over the last twelve months. To some of you this will look like a tonne of work in the time, but probably to most of you, it will look insignificant in comparison to your own achievements! lol!

Thankfully it appears that the level increase glitch I mentioned in my previous blog has cleared up, though I think the percentages that I would have earned over that time have now been lost forever. The ending of this glitch saw me advance to Level 20, and now, two days on, already Level 21. This in turn has provided me with three new show editorships. Firstly to the show I submitted for entry onto this site last October (and it only just came through), the Australian countdown program 20 To 1, hosted by Bert Newton. Secondly is the classic British comedy Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, a show I would suggest watching if you haven't seen any (Channel 7 is currently showing it on a Saturday night as part of their Great Comedy Classics programme - but they're now up to the final season which is poor in comparison). Lastly, I gained the editorship for the Australian version of the reality series The Mole, after it appears that the editor was retired from that guide as they haven't been logged in for a while.
On the 10th of March I finally achieved my goal here on this site to reach 1000 contributions before I was a member of this site for a year. The one year anniversary comes around on the 17th of March, so I only just got in in time!
On a sadder note, I learned over the weekend that one of my teachers from school had passed away. She had returned to her home country of India during the summer holidays, where she fell sick and in the space of twenty-four hours she had passed away. She was a terrific, friendly, caring woman and will be sorely missed. Miss. Vithanage (affectionately called Miss. V) had been my Chemistry teacher in Year 11, as well as the instructor in a science club I was apart of in Years 8 and 9, and was often the teacher present at my Saturday morning comp tennis matches. May you rest in peace.

I have seen a few people complaining about it recently, and I think that it is now my turn to do just the same. Over the last few days (approaching a week) I have been making a series of submissions, which have been processed quickly and approved, which has seen me gain a new show editorship, as well as many contributions to other pages. However, in all that time my level percentage has risen just 6%. I know that it gets harder every level, but I am only Level 19, and I flew to 89% with about the same amount of submissions that I have made to make it 95%. Strangely enough, the one day over the past week that I neither made submissions nor had any accepted was the day which saw me gaining my highest percentage increase - 2%.
Now, in the past I have had to wait a day or two extra to have my level incraese at the proper rate, but I am now starting to worry that it might not go up at all. I am just wondering if I should continue to make large quantities of submissions, or if I should wait awhile. Don't get me wrong, I submit to improve the site, but I also love to see my level go up, it is an extra sign of how much work you have actually done on the site.
I'll end my rant there, stating that today is the day I go back to uni, and today is a very long day. I start at 5.00 this evening and finish at 6.00. I don't really know why I'm going... The reason for the short day is that for the first week you only have lectures and no tutorials, and my Monday is full of tutorials. Well, one hour of work for my first day back. Not too bad. The problem is that I will spend almost three hours getting there and back.

After many months since my last show editorship, I have now become the editor of a third show. I submitted it as a new show last October, but it has only just been added to the site. It is the Australian show What A Year, which screened on Channel 9 last year. For those that don't know what it is about, they take one year each week from history and go through the major events (news, sport, entertainment, crazes, etc.).
Just to cheer everyone else up on this site, I have been on holidays since November 16 of last year, but alas, this has now come to an end. The uni is now in its O-Week (Orientation Week) for first years, and the semester starts on Monday. Having said that, I have drawn a great timetable which sees me having Tuesday's and Friday's off. (Three day weekend! Woohoo!) But Thursday is a real killer - it lasts from 9am to 6pm plus one and a half hours each way to get there, so effectively a 12 hour day. But if it means having four days off a week, it's fine by me.
And today is Wednesday, which is the big day in television in Australia (at least for me). Most of the night I have three clashes. Great fun. Thankfully I have two TV's and VCR's in the house. 8.30-9.30 Heroes and 9.00-9.30 Extras, 9.30-10.30 is Prison Break and Medium, and 9.30-10.00 The Worst Week Of My Life.
