Like we said in Friday's Start/Select, this is my final week at GameSpot.
I've had two marvellous years here, working with some of the handsomest, cleverest, funniest, handsomest people in the business we call writing about video games on the internet.
I'll be doing more of that in my next job, but here's not the place to talk about it.
As I set to excavating my desk out from under two years' worth of notepads and promo discs*, I wanted to say thanks for having me, GameSpot.
Thanks for watching and reading and commenting. Thanks for listening to the podcast (I'll do a last one tomorrow). I love what I do, but I love it harder because of people like you.You're alright, you are.

I miss Jane :'( Now Start/Select is missing too... Gamespot's just not the same without you..... (sigh)
1 Like I may be "new" to Gamespot, as far as my registration date is concerned, but I've watched you since pretty much the beginning and you were one of my favorite Gamespot presenters. It's truly sad to see you go, but fortunately you're still doing "videogame stuff" so I'm sure to keep following you.
Still, I clicked the "follow" button here on Gamespot so, hopefully, you'll still be around to post on your blog every now and then.
Whatever you do in life... best of luck, miss Douglas.

Best of luck at your next job, Jane. You're an excellent writer and presenter and you made Start/Select a regular part of my weekly viewing habits. Here's hoping your next gig features some on camera work too. Gamespot won't be quite the same without you.
Already saw this coming. She's the British version of Veronica Belmont, i.e. - keeps moving from job to job. Why not just tell your fans where you're headed? They deserve that.
4 Like @ChiefFreeman I'm not sure they do deserve that. Have you read some of the comments on the Start/Select episodes Jane is in? So distasteful and creepy it's not funny. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the reason she was leaving.
Either way I wish Jane all the best in whatever she does. As long as she is happy doing whatever she loves, that's all that matters.

@janedouglas Good luck wherever you go next, where it will be, we all anticipate. It was around 2 years ago I started to regularly refer Gamespot, particularly the podcast, which is consistently excellent. We both had to endure AMY for review, an experience i'm sure we both hope is never repeated!
