  Irony

  I'm using this Irony idea off a thread on the off topic forum. I just posted this on the thread, but wanted to put it in as a blog too hopefully get as many people to read it cause this is just fascinating.

  At the 1994 annual awards dinner given for Forensic Science, AAFS, President Dr. Don Harper Mills astounded his audience with the legal complications of a bizarre death. Here is the story:

  On March 23,1994 the medical examiner viewed the body of Ronald Opus and concluded that he died from a shotgun wound to the head. Mr. Opus had jumped from the top of a ten story building intending to commit suicide. He left a note to that effect, indicating his despondency. As he fell past the ninth floor his life was interrupted by a shotgun blast passing through a window which killed him instantly.

  Neither the shooter nor the descender was aware that a safety net had been installed just below at the eighth floor level to protect some building workers and that Ronald Opus would not have been able to complete his suicide the way he had planned.

  "Ordinarily," Dr. Mills continued, "a person who sets out to commit suicide and ultimately succeeds, even though the mechanism might not be what he intended, is still defined as committing suicide."

  That Mr. Opus was shot on the way to certain death, but probably would not have been successful because of the safety net, caused the medical examiner to feel that he had a homicide on his hands. The room on the ninth floor, whence the shotgun blast emanated, was occupied by an elderly man and his wife. They were arguing vigorously and he was threatening her with a shotgun. The man was so upset that when he pulled the trigger he completely missed his wife and the pellets went through the window, striking Mr. Opus.

  When one intends to kill subject A but kills subject B in the attempt, one is guilty of the murder of subject B. When confronted with the murder charge the old man and his wife were both adamant. They both said they thought the shotgun was unloaded. Thed old man said it was his long-standing habit to threaten his wife with the unloaded shotgun. He had no intention to murder her. Therefore the killing of Mr. Opus appeared to be an accident; that is, the gun had been accidentally loaded.

  The continuing investigation turned up a witness who saw the old couple's son loading the shotgun about six weeks prior to the fatal accident. It transpired that the old lady had cut off her son's financial support and the son, knowing the propensity of his father to use the shotgun threateningly, loaded the gun with the expectation that his father would shoot his mother. The case now becomes one of murder on the part of the son for the death of Ronald Opus.

  Now comes the exquisite twist. Further investigation revealed that the son was, in fact, Ronald Opus. He had become increasingly despondent over the failure of his attempt to engineer his mother's murder. This led him to jump off the ten story building on March 23rd, only to be killed by a shotgun blast passing through the ninth story window. The son had actually murdered himself so the medical examiner closed the case as a suicide.

  The Climate Change Swindle

  Well those who are visiting from the off topic post, welcome and those who track my blogs, hello my friends.

  Since i posted the original comments on climate change, i have done more research, read more books, looked at more websites and watched more programmes, culminating in a fantastic programme last night in the UK., which most of this evidence is from.

  My position has not changed, in fact my opinions have only become more strong. Big shock horror everyone and to try and get the point accross HUMANS ARE NOT CAUSING CLIMATE CHANGE FACT FACT FACT. You are all having the wool pulled over your eyes and to prove it to you here we go.

  What you are about to read is the truth, something you would not yet have heard on this topic.

  There is NO evidence humans are causing any disruption to the environment. We have all been told that Carbon Dioxide is the main reason for the earth heating up, we couldn't be more wrong. Firstly Carbon Dioxide makes up 0.54 % of our atmosphere, of this humans cause roughly 2%. Flatulance from animals causes more CO2, the oceans cause more CO2 and here is a bummer for the greenies, rotting leaves cause more CO2 than humans. So basically if  we have more tree and shrubland the CO2 emmissions would increase, FACT.

  Al Gore was correct but fundamentally wrong. There IS a direct link between CO2 and the earth heating up, but he got it the wrong way round, evidence has shown when the earth heats through sunspot activity CO2 in the atmosphere has increased AFTER the earth has heated, in other words CO2 has increased because of the earth heating, not causing it to heat, FACT.

  The Middle Ages were far more hotter than they are now and we humans were not splurting out any CO2 back then, you can look back at old photos of people having funfairs on the river Thames because it froze over, during a cool spell in earths history. Between 1945 and 1980 the earths CO2 emissions increased substantially because of the re-building after the war, but guess what happened to the average temperature, that's right it went down and quite low too, steadily increasing rom 1980 till the present day, yet it has actually fallen over the last couple of years.

  When looking back in time we can now see a direct correlation between the earth heating up and more sunspots, and the earth being cool and less sunspots, indicating without any doubt that this is the main cause of climate changes, which happen more frequently than you would believe.

  During times when we have a hot spell evidence shows that it is actually the surface of the earth heating and NOT the atmosphere, totally the opposite to what they would have you believe. The problem we are seeing now is that so many people have a career in this field that to blow the roof off this scandle would mean an unprecedented amount of people out of work, which is obviously why they would have you believe all of their B...S....

  Do not fear though people the truth will soon be out, hopefully, and perhaps we can get on with leading our lives without this Loony Liberal anti-capitilism, evil infesting our days, peace.

  First Banner

  Finally i have my first banner on tv.com. It won't be to everybodies tastes i'm sure, but some of you will know now i'm not religious in anyway and have one of my favourite films as my banner. A special thanks must go to dj_mrt for providing me with this piece of fantastic British comedy as my banner, cheers!
