Well, it's my 2nd anniversary here at TV.com. So, thanks to all of you guys. I wouldn't have stayed for all this time without you. And despite many things and issues that I have to disagree with, I also have to thank the mods and staff of TV.com for making this site what it is.

And so that's it, a really short blog. I really have absolutely nothing else to say, so good night.

Well, I've been back home for a week. I've barely commented or posted. Mostly due to sleeping too much and going on the Animation Revelation forums.

Today, I watched The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. And let me say that it was… crap. No offense to anyone who liked it, but I thought it was just pure garbage. The movie had a predictable and unappealing plot. It managed to be even more mindless than the first 2 Mummy movies (which were actually okay in my opinion). And the first part of the movie felt way too much like that movie Hero. Seriously, Jet Li seems to be wearing the exact same outfit from that movie. Honestly, I couldn't help but feel distracted that Rachel Weisz got replaced. Still, Maria Bello was okay. Brendan Fraser was all right. And that guy who plays Evelyn's brother, John Hannah, was more annoying than funny. I remember watching The Mummy Returns during a bus ride and ended up confusing John Hannah with Alexis Denisof for some reason. And personally, I think Alexis Denisof would've given a better performance. But, back to the point. Jet Li was okay, even though he spent part of the movie as a demonic soldier made out of chocolately goodness. Michelle Yeoh was good, but that girl who played her daughter got on my nerves. I can't say anything good about Luke Ford. I just thought his character was bland and his relationship with Lin felt too tacked on. And, I have to say that the part of the movie that made me wince the most was when yetis inexplicably came. Honestly, yetis? I wasn't expecting this movie to be realistic, but yetis? I miss Imhotep and Anck-Su-Namen. Really, the only part that I felt was interesting was the one where Jet Li inexplicably transformed into King Ghidorah. I have to say that the movie was too cheesy. And who wrote it? (checks wiki) Millar and Gough. The guys who wrote Spiderman 2, those two Shanghai movies with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson, and Smallville. Wait, the script for Spiderman 2 came from those guys? But that was actually a good movie. I always thought Millar and Gough's movies were nothing but pure guilty pleasure movies. Hmm. Still, The Mummy 3's fun if you like action/adventure movies. Overall, I'd give it a 4 out of 10.

And I rewatched The Dark Knight as well, mostly to get that Mummy 3 taste out. And, it's one of the very few movies I've watched twice in theatres, because it's just that good. Heath Ledger was really good as the Joker. Even from watching the trailers, I loved seeing him. It's just sad that he died. Unlike Mummy 3, TDK was more consistent. And there weren't as many useless characters. My only problem with the movie was that it was a little too long.

So that's it for the blog. Good night.

So has anybody seen that Dr. Horrible video?

For those who haven't heard of it, it's a little thing Joss Whedon did during the writers' strike. It contains 3 acts. One's already out. The next one will be out tomorrow. And here's a quote from Joss that can explain the thing better than I could.

"It's the story of a low-rent super-villain, the hero who keeps beating him up, and the cute girl from the laundromat he's too shy to talk to." - Joss Whedon

So, that's about it for the summary. IMO, the webshow ends up being a little schizophrenic in the first act. I didn't like a couple of the songs. Still, it was pretty good. I liked Nathan Fillion's performance. And for anyone who wants to watch it legally and free, you only have this week to do it.

And on a sad note, one of my friends on this site, Darklordavaitor, was recently banned. He knew what to say when it came to cartoons, life, and music. So Darklord, if you're reading this, hope you have a good future elsewhere.

Oh, and I'll be going to New York and Washington D.C. sometime next week. So, that's it for the blog.

So, haven't made a blog in a long time. I don't really have much to tal-- (checks news) Oh God, George Carlin's dead.

    George Carlin

Oh no. Didn't expect this. So, legendary comedian Geroge Carlin died of heart failure at age 71 sometime today. I don't know what to say. I liked his work. Even when I was a kid, I liked him. Even though he was that guy who narrated Thomas the Tank Engine and played a really small conductor back when I was a kid, I still liked him. It ended up being a huge shock when I realized that Carlin was that guy from Thomas the Tank Engine. So, I'll just say that he was a great comedian and actor. He had a lot of great things to say about society and I will always respect him for that. And with comedy becoming more and more lowbrow, I don't know if there will ever be another legend like him.

    RIP George Carlin May 12, 1937 - June 22, 2008

So, I watched some of Camp Rock a few days ago. Hated it. The actors were too dull. There was too much pop music. It was too corny. Honestly, I have a high tolerance for bad movies, but movies like this are just too much. Overall, I give it a 1/10.

And I haven't watched Turn Left yet. I had a cold today, so I didn't have time. I'll probably watch it tomorrow or Tuesday. So, that's it for the blog. Good night.

This morning, I went on a sponsored walk for my school. I mostly went because my teacher was handing out extra credit for going there. Also, free T-shirts. The downside is, I was really, really drowsy when doing it. I only slept for a couple hours the night before. So... yeah.

Since the last blog, I've found some stuff from the news that's just really stupid and nonsensical. Like, those Dunkin Donuts ads getting pulled just because Rachael Ray wore a scarf that kind of looked like an arab headdress. Then, there's the story about Christian groups trying to change the logo for Starbuck's Coffee because it looks "suggestive" and "obscene". Honestly, what's wrong with it? Yeah, the original logo isn't really family-friendly. But, I don't think that most of the customers are aware of it.

Oh, and I saw the Dollhouse trailer. It looks good. Initially, I was kind of confused about what the plot was going to be about. But, it looks promising. Hope this ends up being another hit for Joss.

    OBEY TEH DUCK-MUFFIN!

Also, I have to go through another round of MCAS this week. This time, it's biology. Still, biology's not that hard. So, good night and have a great June 1st.

So, it's May 19, 2008. The sun's somewhat shining. Finale Fanfare still rages on. And I don't really know what else to say.

So, haven't made a blog in over two weeks. So, Doctor's Daughter and TUATW were pretty good. So was BSG's Guess What's Coming To Dinner.

    ***SPOILER***

So I've heard about the Life On Mars remake. Even saw the trailer, which sucks. Really, why make a remake? They could show the original on ABC for a while. I don't think viewers are that stupid to not understand British accents. I don't want to judge just by the trailer, but it looks too stereotypically 70s. And why did they need to remake Gene Hunt? You can't copy the Gene Genie. The Gene Genie

Still, ABC hasn't let me down that much compared to the other networks. There's a slim chance that it might be good.

And like all people from Massachusetts, I have to take the Math section of MCAS this week. So, wish me luck and good night.

Yeah, random, out-of-context proverb I made up in a few minutes. Couldn't think of anything else for a title. Okay, now...

    Sontaran

So I watched The Sontaran Strategem last week. Above is a picture of a Sontaran, which resembles the unholy love child of Mr. Potato Head and a Power Ranger. I personally thought it was okay. It wasn't really good. I did like some parts like when Donna's mom, Wilfred, Donna, and the Doctor met up and argued. What killed the story for me was the "SON-TARAN! SON-TARAN!" battlecry they had going on at the ending. I just laughed during that whole time. And continuing with H2G2, I'm almost finished with Restaurant At The End of the Universe. I'm at the part where Arthur and Ford crashed at a planet where they just walk and find nearby fruit.

Also, I have something I've been planning to tell those of you who don't know for a long time. Apparently, someone's made a badly-written fanfic that has me as a side character. It's called Die Immortal. It's about the life of two emo people who go to Starbucks named Azurecries and Darklordavaitor, who are also somewhat "inspired" by users from this site. There's also a ton of petty jabs at Captain Nemo, Nightwish, and My Chemical Romance. I can't help but feel a little flattered. Still, Die Immortal's not a pleasant read. Seriously, here's a sample of it. Credits to Name for writing the story.

"I hereby wish for the revival of Marco Nightwish."

There was a blinding light. Luckily, Huntsy was wearing his shades and tanning lotion.

The vortex ejected a figure, landing on the ground in front of AC.
    Everyone crowded around close.

    Marco got up.

"You dumb mug, get your mitts off the marbles before I stuff that mud-pipe down your mush - and tell your moll to hand over the mazuma." he said.

    Marco! yelled AC!

    "Holla back, bebe" he said.

"Did you get a haircut?" asked ac, staring at his shiningly stunning hairless head.

"I used some of that there "Sexyfine" product" he said.

"hey! you used my sexyfine! " yelled Huntsy.

"yo homie he ova dere b madd illin cuz yo he be Gellin like a fealon YA KNAWH WUT IM SAYIN chea" said Marco.

I sincerely apologize to any Nightwish fan who read that. Oh, and I'm planning to watch Iron Man sometime on Monday. Hope it'll be good.

So that's the end of the blog. Good Night.

So, I heard about the whole duplicate UK guides crisis. I was annoyed about it because I thought the whole thing was pointless. I mean, the same exact show shouldn't get two guides just because it's being aired in different countries. Recently, I've seen that one of the duplicate guides is now gone. So, SCORE ONE FOR THE UNITED KINGDOM!

    Gurren Lagann + Welsh

This seriously was a potential Union flag. I am not making this up at all. Apparently, a Welsh politician suggested to change the Union Flag. It just so happens that some of the people making the flag suggestions were anime fans. The guy who made the flag said, It represents shouting "UNION!" and joining together; kicking reason to the curb and doing the impossible; fighting the power, and piercing the heavens. And that symbol that's on the Union Jack happens to be from the anime Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

    Kamina

This guy was also part of the inspiration. Anyway, I hope that the Guide Crisis can be worked out well. So, good night.

I've finished reading the book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. It was a great read and I hope to read the sequels sometime soon. Apparently, I'm one of the few people to read the book at my school as everyone I knew said that they only watched the movie. I haven't watched the H2G2 movie yet and I don't know if I'd like it.

Now on to Doctor Who stuff. I watched Partners in Crime. It was a little funny. I thought the Adipose were a little cute, but I thought it wasn't as good as Smith & Jones or New Earth. The Sarah Jane Adventures got its US release just a few hours ago. I haven't watched the show for some time, but it did reaffirm my hatred of Kelsey. And for Torchwood, this picture should say something. Don't roll your mouse onto the picture if you haven't watched Exit Wounds yet. And I've heard rumors that the next season will only be 5 episodes. Hope that isn't true.

    RIP Toshiko

So, that's it for another short blog. Good night.

I wasn't gonna write a blog just after writing one yesterday, but I feel that I have to say something.

(NOTE: I am not attacking the Jonas Brothers. So, if any of the fans stop by to flame me, just stop it. The issue is different.)

Yesterday, I was bored so I flipped through the channels and saw a little bit of that show Chelsea Lately. In it, she makes a rant about the Jonas Brothers. Since rants against the Jonas Brothers aren't very common, I read some of the responses from the Jonas fans to see what they thought. What I'm gonna say is, what is wrong with them? Honestly, I read some of the comments and half of them were death threats against Chelsea just for ranting on the Jonas Brothers. There's even some fans making a long list on reasons for why Chelsea Handler doesn't deserve to exist. It was disturbing seeing all this hate just because of a rant. So, I will say this to the fans if they are reading this. Just lighten up. I wonder if the Jonas Brothers would actually approve of you people making a really big deal out of it. It was just a joke. Every single band, TV show, or movie has at least one person that hates it. You have to accept it and move on. You honestly think that Chelsea Handler is less of a person because she doesn't like the Jonas Brothers? BTW, I don't hate the Jonas Brothers. I just think that they're overrated. A few of their songs are okay, and that's it. They are not the greatest thing that's ever happened to the world. Also, I might have to complain about a few other fandoms as well.

Doctor Who fandom-Whenever a new companion comes and replaces the previous one, I don't really think it's a big problem at all.

Transformers fandm-Beast Wars was 11 years ago. The movie last year was good. Not every change to the franchise is gonna ruin it.

Old BSG fandom-Please stop complaining about Starbuck being a girl. I beg you. The new BSG isn't like the old BSG. We get it.

Anime fandom-Dubs can be good. 4kids doesn't represent all of the dubbing industry.

    So, that's it.

So, haven't posted a blog in a while. I had to suffer a few days of standardized testing at school. Many people go through it in their lives. It wasn't a good experience. But it gave me some time to read more of Neil Gaiman's American Gods. Procrastinating all the time has caused me to not read it for a long time. Now, I have to go to New York on the weekend to do something that involves going to my grandpa's grave. So, I'll be here less. Anyway, can't wait to watch Partners in Crime which is coming in about a week. Nothing else to say. So, that's it. Another short blog. Good night.

Okay, I bought Angel Season 5 last week. Nothing else to say about that except it's a good season. Moving on!

And the recent release of Super Smash Bros Brawl has made me realize something... I didn't buy a Wii. Yes, I was one of those people who didn't buy a Wii, a PS3, or an XBOX 360. During that time, I was thinking, "Why do I want to buy this? It looks stupid." I was so wrong back then. Honestly, Super Smash Bros Melee was my favorite Gamecube game. The sole reason for buying the Gamecube was to play Melee. So, with the recent release of Brawl and my birthday coming up, I'm gonna get a Wii. Also, HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

    And have another Colbert pic.

Okay, I've been tagged. Hmm. So here's the five things.

    1. I have bought the same kind of sneakers for a few years, except each year, a size gets added to it. So, I have big feet.

    2. I drink a ton of Pepsi.

    3. I am a staunch agnostic, though I've probably already said that in other forums.

    4. Apparently, I was left-handed when I was in preschool according to my parents, but I forcibly bacame right-handed.

    5. I HATE pop music with a burning passion. I used to like it when I was a kid, but now it sounds horrible. Also, I doubt that I might tag anyone else. I might, so that's it for the short blog. Here's a random Colbert picture.

    Colbert loves cats?

Okay, short blog. So, I've just watched Battle Royale, and it was good. Some parts of the movie were just disturbing, particularly Kazuo. But, I liked it. I wouldn't recommend it to those who aren't used to violent movies. While it isn't that violent compared to other movies, it's still pretty disturbing. For those of you who don't what Battle Royale is about, it's about a class of 40 freshmen in Japan. It takes place in an alternate version of Japan where the government made the BR Act, which makes it so high school classes are sent to an island, and do what the title of the film says. It's adapted from a novel. There's also a manga of it. Some familiar faces include Chiaki Kuriyama, that schoolgirl with the mace from Kill Bill. It also has Takeshi Kitano, some of you who don't know his work may have seen him from Takeshi's Castle, or the U.S. dub MXC. So, that's it.

So, I haven't made a blog in a long time. May as well make one now. So, Presidents' Vacation Week is over. School's back. And I've reverted to being really sleepy all day. Also, there's some projects I have to do now. And it's gonna be March next week. Ugh.

    Justice League

Also, today I watched that movie Justice League: The New Frontier. I thought it was pretty good. David Boreanaz did a good job as Green Lantern. Also, Lucy Lawless was good as Wonder Woman. I felt Batman's VA was okay, but it didn't sound like Batman to me. The designs for the heroes looked okay. Still, I miss the good old DCAU. I hope that one day it comes back.

And apparently, I've gained an addiction for Lay's Barbecue chips during last week. Hmm. Anyway, now for the BAA non-recommendation. It was a hard choice since I haven't read any bad books lately. Though I have to say... Lisa, Bright, and Dark by John Neufield. It was a book that I read last year in English class. I just didn't like it. Some of the characterization felt too strange. Lisa's character was too flip-floppy, though they did give a somewhat decent excuse for it. Still, I didn't like the book. It felt boring and nothing was going on in some chapters. So, that's it for the blog.

Yesh, I made a random blog title. Why? Becuase I don't have that many ideas on blog titles. This is just gonna be a short one. So, this blog has nothing to do with Carmen Sandiego. I will probably never make a blog that features Carmen Sandiego. Too bad for you.

Anyway, I've gotten a fanfiction.net account. I'm called Sergeant Insomniac there. I have decided to take up an interest in fanfics. My first one is gonna be a comedy about a couple of Daleks and the other aliens of Doctor Who living on Earth. So, I'll be welcome to criticism and praise if you ever think about reading it. So, that's it for the blog.

    ...or does it? O_o

Okay, got myself a blog header from the good people at the Doctor Who LJ Icon Community. So, the credit goes to them. Anyway, the Writers' Guild of America Strike IS OVER!!!
Photobucket Now Heroes, BSG, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Scrubs, The Office, 30 Rock, Reaper, and all those other show that I've failed to mention can now be made in peace. The writers get their well-deserved residuals. At least something is right in Hollywood. Okay, the WGA strike isn't over yet, but it might be ending. So...
    Photobucket
I watched 3:10 to Yuma a few hours ago, and it was pretty good. Don't really have alot else to say about it. And, I'm really bored this week. Not a lot's happened. Hmm. So, that's it.

And now, everyone at my school seems to be suffering clinical depression over the Super Bowl. Even the bell seems a little slow today. I know the Super Bowl is supposed to be a big deal, but come on! Everybody's arguing about it. Though I didn't notice much since I was like half-asleep this morning. I have insomnia in the night, chronic drowsiness in the morning. Maybe I'm nocturnal. Well, that's about it. Hope anybody in New York are happy about the Giants.

So, Conan and Colbert are having a feud over Huckabee.

    Now, for random, short rants.

Anime-What happened to all the good shows? Pop Music-Throughout my life, I've seen the trends of bands such as N*SYNC and the Backstreet Boys rise and fall. I watched MTV when I was 6(mostly for Beavis & Butthead). People like Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers top the music charts. And, I honestly hate pop music now. I just don't find the appeal in it.

Cloverfield-It got too much hype. It was a good movie, but it just wasn't that good.

Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer-They need to stop making movies. Honestly, they're not funny. Disney Channel-Where do they get their writers? Because I don't like it. Most of their shows are repetitive and just an excuse for merchandising. Their shows just feel too sugary. There's not a single drama in the channel. I wonder what Walt Disney would think about it if he was still alive.

Seth MacFarlane-Family guy used to be so funny. Now, it seems a like a thinly-veiled excuse for him to rant about the government. Brian now seems like a Mary Sue because of it, and he used to be my favorite character.

Fangirls-Remember, you can't spell Fangirl without Fang.

Reality Shows-With shows like the Moment of Truth being aired now, remaking Spaced and Life on Mars doesn't sound as bad as it used to be. Still, McSpaced still sounds like a horrible idea.

MADtv-Remember when it used to be a little funny? This Blog-Yeah, I'm bored enough to rant about ranting.

Frank Miller-Patron Saint of over-the-top action scenes. Still, Sin City was pretty good.

DVDs from the BBC-Why are they so expensive? If they were priced like normal DVDs, my shelf would probably be full of stuff like Life on Mars, Jekyll, Robin Hood, Doctor Who, Coupling, The Office, and Torchwood. But, no. The price is way too high.

Okay, that's about it for my strange and obscure rants. Hope you enjoyed them.

A few years ago, I started realizing that The Daily Show, or A Daily Show as it's calling itself now, and The Colbert Report were better at talking about the news more than some of the stuff on CNN and most of Fox News. Sorry if I'm pointing out the obvious, but it just has me sort of annoyed. Most of the news keeps getting actual news stories out of the way in favor of celebrity news. I remember when they were reporting about Paris Hilton going to jail and they made it look like some kind of huge conflict that would affect the whole world, though it obviously wasn't. I'm honestly not a fan of people like Nancy Grace, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Wolf Blitzer, or any of those guys. When I heard Fox News's John Gibson mocked Heath Ledger's death, it just felt horrible. Besides, Brokeback Mountain was two years ago, so John's jokes were out-of-date and unfunny. I've watched his stuff on Fox News and it's basically an hour-long blog being broadcast instead of actual news. O'Reilly's even worse. Still, I don't want to rant solely on Fox News for this blog. I remembered watching Bowling for Columbine, and I thought that segment where Michael Moore was attacking the media for scaring everyone too much. I honestly don't listen to Michael Moore most of the time, but he had a little bit of a point. Everytime I watch the news, there's constantly news about deaths and stuff like that. It all feels like a montage on how dangerous it is to be outside. There's those sketches of the guys who they're trying to capture, and the sketchers apparently had to draw them to look as unnerving and menacing as possible. Those drawings creeped me out when I was a kid. It's like something out of Uncanny Valley. Then, the weather. My parents are addicted to watching The Weather Channel. Anyway, I'm not even sure if those toys from China are actually that dangerous. I usually get most of my news from the internet now because of it. Now, the best thing the news should do is to lighten the mood and stop focusing on what's going on in Hollywood. Like, The Daily Show, I mean A Daily Show. It shows the news. It focuses on something important. And it has funny correspondents so the news doesn't look that grim. I liked Ed Helms the most before he left. My only problem with it is when they start the repeats. The Colbert Report's great, since it makes fun of those guys at Fox News, though Colbert's getting an abnormal amount of stuff named after him for some reason. I wonder why there aren't that many Satire News shows. There was 1/2 Hour News Hour, which was Fox News's bad attempt at trying to be like A Daily Show. Sometimes, I wonder if the news anchors at the BBC or CBC act like the guys from Fox News or CNN. I saw that clip where the BBC anchors brought in the wrong guy to interview. That was a little funny. So, that's about it. My rant on the media. Good night everybody.
