I know nobody reads this blog, but....

I am fully aware that my fiance is the only other person on the planet who reads this blog (and that's only because I say "read my blog!" every time I post something, and he knows better not to disobey). However, in the obscure chance that some other individual has wandered over to this corner of the interwebs, I wanted to make the announcement that this blog is moving elsewhere. Don't know where yet, or if the move will be permanent, but for now, I'm out. Ciao Gamespot, it was nice while it lasted.

Best of luck to Jeff, and to the remaining staff (suits not included). Nothing personal, but this place just reeks of evil corporate shenanigans. Ick!

    Blind Eye of Judgement

My fiance and I purchased Eye of Judgement the week that it came out, and have been playing it intermittently ever since. However, our main activity surrounding this game is not actually playing it, but searching for the elusive booster packs. Recently I pointed out to him that perhaps we shouldn't buy the cards if we're not going to actually play the game. Apparently he is of the opinion that we'll become rabidly enamored with the game the moment we have all of the cards. Perhaps he is right. He does have more gaming experience then I do.

Something tells me though, that this will not be the case.

Every time we pull out this game and play a round, it's 50% fun and 50% unbridled rage. This game has been the source of inspiration for the creation some interesting new expletives in our household. Why? The &%#$@ camera! ARRRRRGHHHH!!!! We have tried every setting and all sorts of strange lighting arrangements, and still the camera has trouble reading the cards.

I've noticed from reading the forums that this is not a unique issue. Many other people are having trouble, especially with wood and water cards (which happen to be some of my favorites). The thing I can't understand is that the camera will be reading all the cards on the mat totally fine one second, and then you put down a spell or an action card and all of sudden the entire board is unreadable. What?!?!?!?

I guess we'll continue messing around with our room lighting, but until we find a solution we'll just continue to use the game as a muse for the development of new swear words. Who knows, that phrase you use 5 years from now when your daughter borrows the EoJ mat for her tea party tablecloth just might be courtesy of the mostly-blind Eye of Judgment.
