    Finally Some Free Time!

I have been unbelievably busy the past couple of weeks. Disneyland owns me. I finally have today and tomorrow off.

I was listing more Comic Con stuff on eBay (it never seems to end) but I decided to take a break to blog. I have been working like crazy the past week, I've only really had time to eat dinner then pass out once I got home from work. I've been training all this time. I like to jokingly call what I have been up to as "Disney Boot Camp" because it is that exhausting, both mentally and physically. Yesterday I passed the last of my physical tests, where we have to demonstrate that we know how to do our job basically (I had 2 of those over the week) and my last written test (I had 4 of those). My trainer says it'll be a few months before I have the last of my tests, so I am done with training for now (yay!).

Aside from the hectic nature of training at D-land, I love the actual work. I have a new fondness for goats, ours are so adorable. Now I have to learn all about them so when I work the petting farm I can answer people's questions. Expect me to be a goat expert pretty soon

Ok, enough about disjointed work stuff.

I woke up at 8 am this morning. That was sleeping in for me, I couldn't sleep in later if I wanted to (pre-Disney I used to sleep until 11 am some mornings).

I decided that I would treat myself to Assassin's Creed 2

since I have been all work and no play lately. I drove to Target to pick it up and had this nice conversation in front of the video game cabinet

Employee: Hi, do you have any questions about video games?

Me: Actually, I would like to buy Assassin's Creed 2

Employee: Great choice! Picking it up for your boyfriend?

    Me: No...

    Employee: Your brother?

    Me: No, its for me.

    Employee: Oh...wait, really?

    Me: *sigh*

I am never ever buying a brand new game at Target or any other brick and mortar again, I've decided. Not because of that interaction though, but the fact that it cost $65. I could have gotten it off Amazon for $56 but I didn't want to wait since my days off are today and tomorrow. This is why I almost always preorder. Lesson (re)learned.

I'll pick up Left 4 Dead 2 next. I picked AC2 first since I kind of want some solitude. All of my recent game time has been multiplayer, which I love, but sometimes a girl just wants to stab people in their throats on her own, you know?

    Total Win

My first day of "Traditions" (basic training I suppose, it is more like Disney school than job training) was a lot of fun. At the end, Mickey Mouse himself appeared with baskets full of our name tags and ID cards and handed them to us. I hugged him and said "thanks boss!" because I am a total dork like that

I finish "Disney School" tomorrow, then go on to actual job training.

Halloween, Borderlands, 358/2 Days...is it Friday yet?

I start my first day of training for my Disneyland job this Friday. I have to be there at 7:30 am...ouch. I also have to wear business casual clothes. I hear we are touring the park as part of the training, sounds fun to me I can't wait.

Just as my 360 started to collect dust due to lack of games to play, my brother bought Borderlands. I quickly snatched it and have been addicted ever since. I have almost just as much fun (well, actually sometimes more fun) playing alone as playing co-op.

The Claptraps have quickly become one of my favorite NPCs in a game. They bring me such joy and laughter.

I chose to be a Hunter. I like sniping (well, who doesn't) but what really drew me to that c.lass is the idea of having a pet. The animal lover in me just couldn't resist. Bloodwing may not be as fully formed and always around like the dog in Fable 2, but he does get his job done and I am pretty attached to the action skill.

In other gaming news, Legolas_Katarn was generous enough to gift me with Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. My mouth has been watering at the news of this title for over a year, I am so happy that I finally have my hands on it.

The cutscenes and overall graphics are great, for the DS. It is nice to hear voice overs every so often. The beginning was a little slow though, there were tons of tutorials. Total tutorial overkill. The Penny Arcade guys were right haha.

Having finished the tutorials in a little over an hour, the game is really fun. It has a good story, good graphics, pretty decent gameplay, and good music. The only downside is that it is on the DS. My hand cramps when I play for more than an hour, and the controls could have been so much better on the PSP. Oh well, I am a Kingdom Hearts fan and I'll take what I can get Besides, it could be a whole lot worse...like Chain of Memories *shudders* So despite the DSness of it, I am so pleased with it, it has been competing with Borderlands for my attention (and so far it is winning).

Moving on, for Halloween, my friends and I usually head to someone's house and spend the night watching scary movies. This year was different. My friend brought her adorable son over so we could take him trick or treating. This was his first time doing so, it was so much fun to participate in. When we got to the first door, he knocked. When the lady answered he very clearly said "Trick or Treat" then dashed inside her house. We laughed out of shock, amusement, and embarrassment. Luckily the lady was very nice. We learned to hold him back once someone opens the door after that.

After a few blocks, he would look at me and say "hug!" What he really wanted was for me to carry him, so I happily obliged, as you can see.

When we got back, we went through his candy (since he is too young to eat most of it or even understand what was going on anyway). We then watched The Mummy (it was on tv) and baked pumpkin pie bites. Overall it was a great Halloween.

This blog is a lot longer than I intended...I guess I will wrap things up.

My birthday is on the 11th, and I am expected to have an idea of what I want to do with my friends. Anyone have any suggestions, because this is the first year that I really have no idea of what sounds fun.
