All About hobbeshawkeye

    Wow, it's been a while

So, it's been since '06 since I've graced that halls of tv.com..........that's a long time. Don't really know why I'm back, or for long it'll be. But, I'm bored and I wanna look around a website for a while haha.

I dunno who all else is still around on this site, but hoping to see most of my old friends on here.

    Midseason Shows

I watch....a lot of tv. But hey, I like what's being shown. This fall a few of my shows have been axed, some are just getting out of repeats, and the reality shows are coming back soon.

So I've caught some of the new shows (or returning shows), and some I like and others are just......blah.

    For example:
    Jake in Progress:

John Stamos' two episode stint on ER was way overhyped. I wanted to see Uncle Jessie in a show I like. And with his comedy for ABC starting its second season I figured I'd give it a try. And other than Wendie Malick (Just Shoot Me) coping with her pregnancy, this show wasn't funny....at all. So unless I'm utterly bored Monday's when this comes on, I'll steer away from this show.

    Emily's Reasons Why Not:

Another horrible ABC comedy. Filled with unfunny cliches and some bad acting this was painful to watch.

    on to what was an actually good ABC comedy;
    Crumbs:

We see the return of Fred Savage (Wonder Years) as a screen writer in a slump. He returns home to Conneticut, where his mother was released from a psych ward, and his brother is manning the restaruant in the family.

Jane Curtin is hilarious, and the guy that plays Jody is very funny as well.

The only problem is that Savage's character as the closeted gay son seems unnecessary to the show. It just didn't add anything special to the pilot.

And a show I thought I'd never watch was Dancing with the Stars.

When it came out in the summer I thought it would be a hokey way for ABC to get some ratings. Never watched an episode, although I was glad 'Peterman' got second. But instead of watching re-runs this Thrusday I gave it a try. And I liked it. :0

So apparently ABC's been attracting me with its new shows, although very few midseason shows are out yet. Hopefully Love Monkey won't be as horrid as Reasons *shudders*

My Take on the Golden Globes:

While I don't plan on watching the 63rd Globes ceremony, its still fun to predict who'll win, and who I would like to win. Plus my own version, giving all my favorites props.

I'll only go over the TV portions, seeing as how this is tv.com...

    Best Drama Series:

The only show of the bunch that I watch is Lost.

    My winner: Lost
    Predicted winner: Rome

    Best Actress: Drama

I'm happy, both Patricia Arquette and the wonderful Kyra Sedgwick made the list. Glenn Close's performance on The Shield went unnoticed at the Emmy's but this ain't the Emmy's.

    My Winner: Kyra Sedgwick
    Predicted Winner: Glenn Close

    Best Actor: Drama

Once again Matthew Fox is the only person whose show I watch; although I have seen a few 24 episodes.

    My Winner: Matthew Fox
    Predicted winner: Wentworth Miller

    Best Comedy Series:
    None of these I watch....

My Winner: Weeds just because I think the premise seems cool.
    Predicted Winner: Everybody Hates Chris

    Best Actress: Comedy
Full of Housewives four Desperate and one who sells Weeds.

My Winner: Mary-Louise Parker, only to keep any of the Housewives from winning.
Predicted Winner: Eva Longoria...or any of the other three...

    Best Actor: Comedy
Scrubs is ok, but I think that without Zach Braff it would be nothing.

    My Winner: Zach Braff
    Predicted Winner: Jason Lee

Ok, with that over with here's how I'd like the Globes to go...The winners of my categories will come later feel free to tell me which you like the best...
