Greetings, Everyone! Yes, I know it's not the night before Christmas yet. But since I'll be busy with family things tomorrow, I figured I'd get this done tonight. I can't believe it's been 2 months since my last blog. I've been having annoying computer problems, and I need to get a bigger internal hard drive, plus cloning software, for my laptop. Apparently my disk space on my c drive is maxed out practically. It's so confusing and fristrating. Anyways, I just wanted to update people on my going ons in the last two months.

~Halloween: Lamest. Halloween. EVER. It got all rained out and stuff, and I couldn't take my brother and sister trick or treating. Although I guess I've been pretty lucky that I've never had a rained-out Halloween up until now.

~I turned 21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was really fun, I had a very nice quiet and relaxing birthday. I even got a Kindle as a gift! It's super fun and easy to use. Now, I don't have to lug around super heavy tomes when I want to read, Just take out my ipod nano-thin Kindle from my purse and start reading. I also bought Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex for my self to play on my Nintendo Wii. It's super fun and addicting, especially the online multiplayer feature.

    kindle

~I pet a llama!!!!! While visiting my aunt at the health care center she's in, they had a llama visiting patients. Not a spiritual lama, but a furry, cute llama. It was being led on a leash, walking around in the tv room. His name was Doug, and let me tell ya folks: If you ever get the chance to pet a llama, DO IT! They are beyond soft. And soooo cute too.

~I had an awesome snow ball fight with my siblings. I really am not one for running around outdoors, especially in the snow, but my brother and sister had other ideas for me. My protests of: "Snowball fights are for kids", "Adults don't play in the snow", "It sounds boring and stupid, so leave me alone" fell on deaf ears, and I was very glad they did. I had a super fun time, more fun than I've had in a LONG time, and I felt super great after.

~I saw a chicken crossing the road. But unfortunately, I don't know why. It was a funny sight though.

~I completed a 1000 pc jigsaw puzzle. Another gift I got for my birthday. It was quite relaxing to do, and got me re-interested in doing puzzles. I'm working on a desert one right now.

    puzzle

~Last, but not least, I got to a new level on TV.com! Level 44. That only took a few eons.

So, what are everyone's holiday plans? I'm planning on a simple at-home-family holiday. With lots of food and music and gifts of course. I hope every one has a safe and happy holiday. Merry Christmas!

Greetings, Everyone! Hope everyone had a nice three day weekend, and a great Thanksgiving for all of my Canadian friends.

The other night, while watching TV, I kept hearing this funny scratching sound in our living room wall, where the fireplace is located. But everytime I got up to look what was making the noise, there didn't seem to be anything around that could be the cause of the noise. Well, a few minutes later, I heard the same noise, only this time it was right behind the couch I was sitting on! I didn't even have time to look behind the couch because about two seconds later, A SQUIRREL CAME RUNNING OUT FROM BEHIND THERE!!!! I nearly had a heart attack! At first I though maybe it was just a big mouse, but then I saw it's bushy tail. Plus, it jumped up on some shelves and was climbing up them. I managed to get two pics in, although they're not very well defined. squirrel 1

    squirrel 2

Apparently, it got in the house from the chimmeny and fireplace. Fortunately, while it was scampering on the shelves, it jumped on to one of my cousin's toys and the toy and squirrel both toppled on to the floor, where it ran back to the place where it got in. There apparently was a small opening on the side of the fireplace where it got in, so my parents fixed it. Not only that, but once we were all sure that the late night visitor had gone out of the chimmey, and back to where it belongs, we lit up the fireplace to ensure nothing else got any ideas about coming in.

Moving on to less scary topics, yesterday, because of the lovely weather outside, I decided to take my brother and sister to the Stone Church. For those of you who don't know, the Stone Church is a cave-like formation complete with a waterfall. To get there you hike through this huge field, on winding and sometimes rocky paths, across a little bridge and past streams and mini waterfalls. It's the highlight of my boring town, and definitely a beautiful and fun place to go.

BTW: Inside the Stone Church itself is a ladder, made of logs, that if you climb up you can see this huge waterfall. EVERYBODY climbs the ladder, although before yesterday I never had. However, I conquered my fear of heights, and climbed away! It was amazing!!! My brother even climbed it after me.

Before leaving we all stopped and had some snacks and water while resting on a big rock by a pond.

After our hike, I brought my brother and sister to the school playground nearby, where they also had a great time.

It's interesting to see the differences from last year's Stone Church blog and this one. However the fun of going there is always the same.

Hope everyone enjoyed the blog! Later!

Greetings, Everyone! Hope everyone's weekend was relaxing. I plan on keeping this a short and sweet blog entry, but a pretty neat one nonetheless. First, I thought I'd share some pics of when my church decided to put on a Tri-Parish Picnic a few weeks ago. Usually they only put on an annual picnic for themselvels, but this year one of the parishoners here decided to ask my church's preist to invite Archbishop Dolan to the festivites. When he promptly accepted, it was decided to share the good fortune with the surrounding areas. Below are some pics, plus a few links to the news articles about the day. I had an amazing and relaxing time.

signFor security reasons, the picnic was held at San Sliverio Shrine, which is a very lovely place.

fountain A nice fountain out in front.

stand Throughout the whole event Italian music, rock and roll music, and Irish music was played! Which was awesome, since I love all those kinds of music.

the archbishop and me My favorite pic of the whole day!!!!!!! Not only getting to shake his hand, but to get a pic with him too was awesome.

    ARTICLE

Wow.... I've been away so long that I've almost forgot how to format my links. Scary.... Anyways, there's a neat article with some pics and a vid to go with it. Just click on the link.

Before I go, I had a few requests for some pics of my new cousin. Well, here they are. Cell phone cam quality must suffice for the time being I'm afraid.

    joey 1 My pal Joey.

joey 2 A Yankees AND and Eagles fan.

Hope everyone enjoyed reading!!! And thanks for all your lovely well wishes for my great aunt in my previous blog. Later!

Greetings, Everyone. Well, it seems I've returned from a LONG hiatus from this site. The reasons for my absence are plentiful, some good, others bad. Mainly I've been away due to the need to spend time with my family, especially my great-aunt, who suffered a stroke about 2 weeks ago. To me it seems like an eternity ago. She's alright, but it will be a while before she's back to normal. For me, it's been pretty rough, since she's lived with my family for my whole life, and she is probably my best friend in the whole world. Oh well, what can you do...

I must say though, there have been some good moments too in the past few weeks. As of yesterday, Sept. 15, 2009, my total number of cousins increased to 5. The newest member of my family, Joseph Michael, was born yesterday. Some other noteworthy things are: I met the Archbishop of NY at a tri-parish picnic, 4 people in my families celebrated birthdays, and I read an awesome book, called, "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

I'll share pics of the parties and picnic in a future blog. Until then, have a nice week.

Greetings, Everyone! Well, today is my 2-year TV.com anniversary! I really can't believe it's been that long.... In that time I made so many wonderful friends, learned the fine art of blogging(with pics and links included!), and became editor of a ton of show and person guides.

In my first year here, I managed to ge to level 13, and have a total of 1 person guide. It should be known that I never started submitting until 5 months after I joined. I met amazingly kind folks that really helped me out here, and soon became great friends to me.

Now, on to my second year.... Currently, I'm at level 41, with 8 show and 6 person editorships under my belt. Oh and two Trusted User statuses for shows. Still have to try and get a Trusted status for a person guide though. But, overall, I'd say it's been a very good year here. Thank you to all my friends here who helped me along the way.

    Have a great week, Everyone!

Greetings, Everyone. I hope everyone is having a lovely, relaxing, restful weekend so far. Well, I seem to be back to 95% of my normal health, after being completely and utterly wiped out by my allergies. I haven't been around TV.com as much since the big level glitch was going on, and also since I was sick. But, I think I'm just about over my submission slump, since I managed to FINALLY get to level 37.

Another incentive for me to visit TV.com was the really cool chat with NCIS stars Pauley Perrette and Cote De Pablo this past Tuesday. It was really cool, and while I didn't get any of my numerous questions picked to be answered (believe me, it wasn't for lack of trying:lol it was still quite enjoyable. Hopefully, there will be more kinds of chats like that. If you happened to participate in that chat, please visit HERE, and post that you participated in the chat to get a cool new emblem. Wanna see what the emblem looks like? Well then, take a LOOK at this person's emblems. Hopefully, this new emblem won't go MIA like that American Idol poll one...

Seeing as how nothing too noteworthy has happened to me that's worth blogging about, I'd thought I'd share some more nice pics, plus a This Or That Quiz. Hope you enjoy.

    THIS OR THAT

    Save 500 people's lives.
Have an alarm clock that wakes you by slowly making your bed ice cold or an alarm clock that wakes you by shaking your bed violently?

Run into a wall or fall down the stairs?

Run into the wall. I run into so many walls, it doesn't even faze me anymore.
Be a pirate or be a ninja?

A ninja, because Ninjas > Pirates. Oh, and I have some martial arts training, so it would suit me.
Be the #1 entertainer for 4 years or be president of the U.S?
I'd rather be an entertainer. Being President at this time in history just seems like too stressful a job.

    Good singer.

Be a famous singer or be a famous actor/actress?

    Singer (a good one).
Sleep with a celebrity of your choice or not have to work for 5 years?

Not work for five years of course.Win 5 million dollars or find true love?

Be Jonny Depp's girlfriend or have Johnny Depp's salary?

    Salary!
Be the same age forever or live to 100?

Well, I don't want to live to 100, but do I really want to be 20 years old forever???
Become famous for having a meltdown on YouTube or never become famous?

Again, still don't want to become the next Internet meme, so I'll stick with my obscurity.

Have lived in the 8th century or be born in the year 3000? (If the world still exists then)

The year 3000... after all, was there really any advantages of living in the 8th century? Be a mad scientist or a private investigator?

Gabriella PI! I like the sound of that!
Have rain for a year non-stop or have nothing but sunshine for a year non-stop?

    PC.

Never use MySpace again or never use Facebook again?

Never use MySpace again. I only use it about once a month compared to my everyday Facebook use.

Greetings, Everyone! I know it's been ages since I've had a new blog, and I was all set to do a Quiz-Blog, but my plans were sadly interrupted with a hectic week. To top it off, I've been really sick the past few days with allergies. I actually was feeling a LOT better today and was up and active, but when I went to Mass, I litteraly almost passed out in church. Thankfully, one of my fellow RCIA members (who's also a nurse) was sitting next to me, and helped me outside into the air. Sigh... what a crazy (and pretty scary) experience.

Anyway, instead of a quiz, I'd thought I'd just post some pics I took the other day in my yard.

yard 1 It's sad to think that these pretty trees are what's making me feel horrible.

    yard 2

    yard 3

Another thing I forgot to mention... I changed my icon to Bea Arthur the other day, after I heard about her death. She was an awesome actress, not to mention my favorite Golden Girl. May she rest in peace.

So, that's about it. If I don't respond to your comments right away, or get to your blogs, just know it's because I'm most likely sleeping in order to fight this ailment. Actually, sleeping, rather then being on TV.com hasn't been so bad the past few days, mainly due to the level halts. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week, and enjoy the following picture of what I believe is THE coolest lamp ever.

Greetings, Everyone! Well, it's official! I'm now officially a part of the Catholic Church. Last night's ceremony was the most beuatiful thing I have ever seen in church, and it was an amazing honor to be a part of it.

First there was the lighting of the Easter flame in the repository of the church. Then there was 3 readings by the flame's light. After that, everyone proceeded into the main part of the church in complete darkness, and began to sing the Gloria hymn, during which the lights were turned on. That part was so beautiful and symbolic. After that, there 2 members of my RCIA group were baptized, and then we were all Confirmed together and then recieved Communion. There was so much beauty to the whole ceremony that it's really hard to find the right words to even begin to describe it. So instead, here are some pics that my mom took during the evening.

    me 1

me 2 I know these are small, the originals I have are MUCH better.

On a parting note, let me first say that I hope everyone's Easter is very happy and blessed, and please enjoy the pictures, especially the one below, of my saint, Mary Magdalene, and enjoy the SONG I picked out for this day.

Greetings, Everyone! I hope everyone had a good week. Well, the foot-washing ceremony at church went well, and all I really have to stress over at the moment is tomorrow night, when I recieve my sacraments and become a full-fledged member of the Catholic Church! But, enough of that for the moment. I need SOMETHING to take my mind off my nervousness and excitment, so.... I'll talk about what I did last Sunday!

Last Sunday, my brother and sister convinced me to accompany them while they went to the brook beside my house. Usually, I pass on going there, because it's a little boring, but I figured I'd go that day since the weather was absolutely perfect out. Here's some pics I took while I was there.

    brook 1

    brook 2

brook 3 This one is my favorite pic from that day.

me It's me! FYI: My brother and sister requested I wear that sweat shirt that day. Normally, I don't wear that out in public!

bird This pic I actually took the day before, but I thought it looked pretty cool, so I added it to the blog.

Well, that's all for now. I hope everyone enjoyed the pics! Have a great weekend, Everyone!

Greetings, Everyone! Sorry if I missed anyone's new blogs lately. I've had some computer problems the past few days, but I think I might have found a way to work around them, so no worries for the moment.

I am pleased to announce that I have made the important Sacrament of Confession for the first time ever last night! I was REALLY nervous in the days leading up to it, and didn't really know what exactly it would be like. Fortunately though, I got some great advice by tons of my friends, and I got through it. It was really nice feeling as well.

On Holy Thursday, I'm going to be attending this special Mass, in which 12 parishoner's feet get washed by the priest. It's suppposed to symbolize Jesus washing the 12 apostle's feet. Somehow I ended up getting signed up for that as one of the 12, so I have that to look forward to. I've never heard about that practice before, but apparently, that's what they do.

Well, that's about all the blogging I feel like doing today. Hope you enjoyed reading! Oh, and check out the pic I found! It's the cast of NCIS in cartoon form! It's so funny. Well, I guess only fans of the show NCIS would find it funny.... but, whatever!

Greetings everyone! Hope everyone's Monday went well. I just thought I'd write a quick blog about a wonderful event I went to last night at my church. Hope I can get this posted in under 20 minutes, which is when I have to go to RCIA.

So, last night, my church held a special event for people wanting to learn more about Holy Week, Lent, and The Last Supper, which was, in Jesus' time, a Passover meal, AKA, a Seder. So, my church held a sort of beginner's Seder, since a real one would last a LONG time, like 5 hours, and this one lasted about 2 1/2 hours. Everyone saw how food was laid out at a traditional Seder, what food was eaten and what it symbolized, and the prayers that were recited during it.

seder food This is basically the layout of the food.

There was shankbone, hard boiled eggs, matza, parsely, horseradish, and charoset. If you want to learn more about what those foods symbolize, click HERE.

Also, everyone who attended also brought dishes of food to share with everyone else, and there was a ton of food left. I brought scones and salad my Mom had made.

All in all, I definitely learned a lot, and had a wonderful time, and met some very nice ladies in their 80's and 90's who I was sharing a table with. They were so nice and hilarious!

Anyway, that's all the blogging I can fit in at the moment. But, I'll leave you with something funny. Not a pic this time, but a vid! And it's one I just can't stop watching. Enjoy!

Greetings, Everyone! I hope everyone's weekend was relaxing and stress-free. Well, my last Scrutiny is over, and all that's remaining is to recieve my Sacraments on Holy Saturday Night! I can't wait!

Today's Scrutiny was held in another church that's used for the 9:45 Mass. I really don't like going too much to that church, because in order to get to it, you have to drive into the grounds of this old, decrepit mental hospital that closed down years ago. There's barbed wire everywhere, and at night it's pitch black with the darkness. However, the church itself is breathtakingly beaitiful!

harlem valley psych center This is the hospital!

Another interesting thing this past week was my brother's 5th grade open house at his school. All the 5th graders had to invite people to come, and they brought food they made (well, that their parents made) and then they set up little restaurants in their cla ssrooms. The adults had to dress fancy, like movie stars, and the kids had to dress as chefs and waiters. It was a pretty fun time.

Over the weekend, I was fortunate enough to see two great movies: Mildred Pierce, and Three Coins in the Fountain.

mp MP is about a woman (Joan Crawford) sacrificing everything for her spoied, ungrateful daughter.

tcitf Three Coins... is about three women finding love in Rome.

Both were excellent films, but I prefer Mildred Pierce, simply because of Joan Crawford's excellent performance, although, I'm not too big of a Joan Crawford fan. The film, Mommy Dearest, sort of biased me against her.

Well, that's about all I can think of blogging about at the moment! I hope everyone enjoted reading. Oh, forgot to mention that I recently got my Master of Contributions Emblem! Master of Contributions It's largely do to the fact of the major submissions to the NCAA Men's Basketball guide, which my friend, Karlmeszaros is the editor of. See, I can give some honorable mentions too, Karl.

Now, I tried posting this blog once before, with a picture of a lego waffle, but that seems to have kept messing up my blog, so, just imagine a picture of a waffle made from legos. Instead, I'll share this photo, which I think is sorta neat. It's a watermelon picture, . Hope you like it!

Greetings, Everyone! Well, I just thought I'd let everyone know that today was the first of three Scrutinies that my RCIA group had to participate in. What are the scrutinies, you ask? Well, up until today I had no idea what on earth they were. I've never seen them shown on TV or in movies, and there's really not a decent explaination online, but basically it's a chance for the parish to get to know the RCIA members who are soon going to become a part of their church/faith, etc.... It was pretty quick, my group and I just stood, answered questions in unison, and then turned around and everyone clapped for us. My RCIA group and I only have two more of these Scrutinies to go through, which I'm happy about.

Moving on, tonight we're supposed to get 6-10 inches of snow. Sigh.... I wish Spring would get here quick. How's the weather where everyone else is?

Other than the Scrutiny, there hasn't really been anything too exciting that's worth blogging about. A few weeks ago, I helped my Mom organize and clean a TON of stuff that we were giving to a new thrift store that's set to open in town. It's run by members of my church, and they were asking for donations of clothes, toys, household items, etc... It was fun work getting everything together for donation.

By the way, I just thought I'd let all those emblem lovers out there know that a NEW one is available! Go to THIS link and vote for... um... an American Idol person. I don't really watch the show, but who could resist a new emblem?

So, what does everyone think of the new TV.com lights on/off feature? I think the lights off is a definite improvement, although I still think Gamespot has a better version of it. Oh, and has anyone seen the new show guide design? I sorta like it, although it takes some getting used to.

Well, that's about all the blogging I feel like doing for today. Next week my (first) ipod will be 1 year old, so in honor of that glorious occasion, I thought I'd share this picture I found. I think these look very tasty! Hope everyone enjoyed reading!

Greetings Everyone! Hope everyone's Monday went well! This is going to be another very short blog, since I have to go to RCIA in about 15 minutes. However, I wanted to share what I saw in my yard this afternoon! I was busy doing some submissions to TV.com today, when all of a sudden, my Mom started yelling, "Gabby! Look out the window!" I gotta say, I was quite surprised at what I saw.

    Pretty weird, huh?

Today I also saw this crazy squirrel that frequents underneath my Mom's truck. It's quite an accentric squirrel, as it's always running up to the back door, and pressing it's paws against the screen, peering in.

    Hope you enjoyed!

Greetings, Everyone! Well, an odd thing seems to have happened to me. I've been tagged not once, but twice in the same week. One tag is from TV.com, and the other is from Facebook. Both require me to write 16 Facts about myself. So... here they are.

1: My favorite song is Won't Get Fooled Again, by The Who.

2: I once had eye sugery when I was 5 years old to correct a lazy eye.

3: I almost always wear my hair in a pony tail.

4: I have no clue how to swim, and am unable to float.

5: I studied Latin and French in high school.

6: My favorite fictional detective is Hercule Poirot, created by author Agatha Christie.

7: My favorite soda is Dr. Pepper.

8: I find math to be one of the hardest subjects in the world.

9: I've gotten the chicken pox when I was 7.

10: I love helping people learn new things.

    11: I'm extremely shy.

    12: I'm prone to procrastinate.

13: My favorite animal is a tiger!

14: I've never broken any bones in my body, although I have sprained some.

15: My favorite movie when I was a kid was The Lion King.

16: My favorite candy is Resses Peanut Butter Cups.

Well, that took forever. Hope the list wasn't too boring.

Greetings, Everyone! Hope everyone's weekend was good and restful. This blog is going to be an extremely short one, so I'll get on with my news. Well, after thinking long and hard about what I want my Confirmation name to be, I think I've finally found my answer. I'm going to choose Mary, after Saint Mary Magdelene. I think that she's the perfect saint for me, plus, Mary is my Grandmother's name. If anyone is interested, HERE is some info on Mary.

On the TV.com front, I've found 4 shows and 2 people that I can become the editor of, so I've been submitting like crazy. For a while now, I've been in a bit of a submitting slump, so it's good to be doing so much work on various guides for a change.

Weather-wise, it's still extremely cold here, and the snow refuses to melt. I can't seem to remember what the lovely grass even looks like anymore. I wish it would get at least 10 degrees warmer here.

The other day I found a ton of the episodes from the 1980's show Captain Planet. Does anyone remember that show? I used to watch that show all the time. It's really cheesy, but funny too. A few of the episodes are quite dark and morbid as well. However, I've been having a blast re-watching them all.

To end this blog, I'd like to share a picture. I know EVERYONE loved those Pac-Man cookies that were pictured a few blogs back, so I thought I'd go with a similar one. I hope you enjoy it!

Hello, Everyone! Well, the weekend is finally upon us! Hope everyone had a good week. This past week was extrememly snowy and icy in my neck of the US. First there was a big wintry mix storm on Tuesday night and Wednesday. Then, it snowed Thursday night. Now, there's supposed to be 8 inches of snow tomorrow! It's insane.

I just wanted to share these few pictures of what the snow has been like here so far.

jeep 1 This branch got so weighted down by ice that it's resting on top of my Grandmother's jeep. The jeep is fine though. Oh, and my Grandmother was inside when this happened, so she's ok too.

jeep pic 2 Here's another picture of the jeep. It's still fine!

window view Here's a view of my yard, taken from the upstairs window. Those icicles are nothing compared to the way they were right after it snowed.

The Brook This picture is of a brook that runs through my yard. I think it looks pretty nice.

    Hope everyone enjoyed my pictures.

Greetings, Everyone! I hope everyone's week is off to a great start! Mine's been pretty good so far, except that I have a cold. But that's okay, because I'm super happy! Yesterday, at RCIA, my group was informed that in a week or two, were going to be discussing choosing sponsers for when we recieve our sacraments, as well as having to think about what Confirmation name we are going to pick! I'm really excited to pick a Confirmation name, and I have a few in mind that are strong possibilities, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of their own?

Another exciting thing that happened this week was I went to the mall, and I got a great deal on some video games! I bought 3 old Gamecube games for under $20.00. Below are the games I bought.

    Prince of Persia

    ssx tricky

resident evil 0 This one really creeps me out!

Well, I think that's all the excitment I've had this week. However, I'll share one more pic with everyone. I found this on the internet. These look so cool and yummy!

Greetings, Everyone! Hope everyone's week was a good one. I just thought I'd share some pictures of my family's Christmas decorations, as well as share some pics I took of all the snow that's been falling today!

    First, the decorations!

living room Here are some lights my Mom hung up in our living room.

nutcracker collection My brother has been collecting nutcrackers since he was 4 years old. Every Christmas, he gets more and more. This is his collection so far.

our tree Our tree. The centerpiece of it all!

These two pics were taken early today. The snow has increased greatly since then. The front of my house is definitely the worst, I could barely make it out to fetch the mail. But it's really pretty to look at.

    front Front of my house.

    side Side of my house.

    Hope everyone enjoyed the pics!
