Time machine - from 40's to modern warfare

I just finished playing Brothers in Arms (again ) and I started to think about World War II shooters...

With german ID in france - 1944

the first WWII shooter I've played (i'm not counting Wolfenstien 3D) was Medal of Honor for PSone, and I was stuned by graphics and enemy AI etc. It was great to decive SS officers showing them fake ID. And then 8 years after great game we recived MoH: aiborne, which was in my opinion very medicore game... and then it came to me that once great series has died, I expected from next MoH something more, some sort of next-gen remake of old MoH. Now I think that what can bring this series to life is to modernize the MoH, but on the other hand I think it will be something like CoD:MW, and thus that it wouldn't be a great game.

And then it was the Middle East - how cpt. Price met Gaz

the other game series who earnd a crown in WWII games was and is Call of Duty, but only those parts made by Infinity Ward though I think that Tetryarch (wrong spelling?) has finally lerand something from IW and new CoD has a chance to be well recived by gamers. But the point is that Infinity Ward did something unprecedensed, they make a game that is no longer a WWII shooter, that would be nothing special but considering their previous games it was something new, differen and what came out GREAT. By changing setting for next Call of Duty they refreshed series and proved that WWII series doesn't need to stay in they form, and that they can travel in time with great success...And they showed that games can be made like good action movies. *

Brothers in Future - tactical revolution needed

and so we get to the mentioned in begining Brothers in Arms. When I first seen this game, I wasn't sure if it will be any good, but when I played it, I instantly liked it, tactical aspect in WWII shoote. Though this tactics are simple and number of commands is small, this game have a great potential. We are few months before third game in series and I started to thing what would it be if Gearbox could set a fourth game in modern battlefield... lets say in afghanistan or somewhere like that, adding customization of weapons and new tactics like room clearin, new teams like marksman team (two man) or demolition team (armed with m203's or anti - tank weapons), new vechicels like stryker or bradley...

I think that this could be a great game

    Time of (game) life

So we finally get to the worst period in games business, everybody have holidays - or like me have to write Bechelor's Degree - and don't have much time to play - again - or like me fill their veins with coffe and play trough the nights - so the developers are taking time to polish their work. Like Guerilla Games, delaying Killzone 2 till february 2009... I think it's a good idea but they could piss us off a bit by uploading Killzone 2 demo to PSN, and make us cut stripes on walls counting down time to world wide premiere. The last great hame IMHO for next couple moths was Metal (Longest) Gear (Movie) Solid (ever) 4, don't get me wrong I love this game (since 1998 ) but in-game movies are a "bit" too long

And while we wait for Killzone 2, let us take a look for other upcoming games with - again IMHO - great potential*.

Rouge Warrior - navy SEALs oriented game with co-producer who is ex-SEALs commando... sound great to me, what to wish more? - that this game wont turn out crap and will be released, because I haven't hear anything about this game for a while though one of best game shops in my city have this in pre-order section

Rise of the Argonauts - mythology, ohh mythology... looks great, lets hope it will play the same way, though I recall that in Argo crew were two guys with wings (YEP, WINGS like ARCHANGEL)

Red Alert 3 - C&C .... nothing less, nothing more

Star Wars Force Unleashed - what to say it's Star Wars damn'it!

of course there are other games like EndWar or Hawx or Far Cry 2 but I don't want to go in detail with them - there are UbiSoft games so probably this games will be "editors choice" or something...

!!!PS. Have You heard anything about Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 3 lately ? !!!

    * "great potential" I mean by that at least equal to all Russian nuclear potential

    CHEERS!!!

    Games, Games, Games... AGRRRR !!!!!!!

Yes Games, i love games, i consider my self as a Gamers Generation member... So why am i mad... Well maybe becouse time of brilliant games is faiding, going to the great adios (i hope finali not!)...Since 2004 i dont remember a game, that could be revolutionary or at least supreme. At this time my faith is starting to grow again becouse :
    1: Ghost Recon 3
2: Star Wars: Empire at War
    3: Rise of Legends

but is it enough? will these games give a bit of fresh air in this stinky room? whot do you think???
