There's a tradition in creative industries for advertisers to use press quotes to help sell their wares. This has often been applied in a less-than-honourable fashion in the film industry, as an article in The Guardian explains.
Today, I got a press release about the new Ferrari Challenge website, which has just gone live today. Here's a quote from the website's homepage that sits alongside others from the Official PlayStation and Official Nintendo magazines:
"Looks awesome, plays even better - 10/10"
Tiff Needell, Fifth Gear and Auto Express.
The following information appears on the Wikipedia entry for Tiff Needell:
What a startling coincidence!"Tiff's voice is also featured in the up-coming 'Ferrari Challenge' video game for racing game developer Eutechnyx."
I love what I've seen of LittleBigPlanet so far, and last month I was invited down to East London to play the game's create mode for the first time. Crazy journalism rules dictated an embargo of about a month on what I saw, but my hands-on piece will finally be up on GameSpot this Wednesday. In the meantime, I'll leave you with a new screenshot from the incredibly cute game, more of which can be found here.

UPDATE: We set this live at 12.01 am last night. Gotta love those embargoes!
I'm currently sat in London's O2, waiting for Sony's PlayStation Day to kick off. I have my press badge, and the good news is that both Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 will be here in some form, in addition to Home. The event itself is due to open in fifteen minutes, with the keynote at 4.00pm. I'll be live blogging it for the site, so keep an eye on the news page in just under an hour.
Quite a few people have been in touch about graphic design before, particularly in regards to the awesome banner that Russ designed for me when I first joined GameSpot UK. That image be something that needs updating (ideas on a postcard or PM please), but as one of my non-games related interests, I thought I'd point to a rather excellent blog called FormFiftyFive that my brother is involved with. He's a student at the Edinburgh College of Art, and spends his free time tracking some of the cool design projects taking place around the world. Check it out and let him know what you think -- I'm sure he'd appreciate the GameSpot community's thoughts!
I'd love one of these crotcheted trees from Klas Ernflo...
This week I was invited to guest on the CNET.co.uk Crave Podcast, so have a listen as we discuss new gaming peripherals and technology at large.
Also, kudos for giving me the best intro of all time:
"A wise man once said, "If you love someone, set them free. If they come back -- they're yours." And that's exactly what happened with our very own Guy Cocker, who makes a return to the Crave Podcast after a longer hiatus than the second series of Heroes."
I've just finished uploading this week's episode of Start/Select, and after some technical jiggery-pokery, it's on the site. Check out the embedded video below, or head over to the dedicated page to download for iPod or to leave a comment.
