Got up at 5 a.m. to see my ACT scores...

    ...And I'm delighted with them.

    English: 29

Math: 34 (I don't know how, I left like 3 blank and had to make an educated guess on about 4-5, with bladder problem and all, must have been a very lenient curve)

    Reading: 30

    Science: 31

    Composite: 31

I'm so happy right now. That just made my day. This puts me well in the middle/upper range of all the schools I want to apply to in terms of test scores.

    98th percentile FTW!

Edit: Writing scores just came in, and I got an 11! Man this just took a lot of stress off my back.

Never Drink Orange Juice before the ACT

Seriously, this isn't a joke. I had to leave my house at 6 a.m. because the closest test center was a little over an hour away. I stopped at the McDonalds drive through and got an orange juice. Big mistake. My bladder almost exploded during the math test. I started to feel it coming towards the end of the English test, but it didn't set in that much until the middle of the math. Then BAM! I had to pee so badly I couldn't stand it. I even had to hold my crotch for the second half of the math test in order to retain myself from going all over the place. I couldn't concentrate. It took all of my effort to not pee all over in the test center. When she said we could go on break I was out of there and into the bathroom faster than a speeding bullet.

That blows because math is my best section and I got a 34 on it in April and June, but I probably got about a 30 this time because I couldn't focus on any of the more difficult questions.

Hopefully the curve is lenient, that's all I can say.

On the other hand, the rest of the test went great. I couldn't believe how well I did on the reading section, and I feel I did well on the science too. Overall, I don't want to jinx myself, but I'd be surprised if I end up with anything less that a 30, even with a lower math score. Plus the university I want to attend allows students to superscore the ACT anyway, so I can substitute a 34 in for this test in order to form a higher composite score. How convenient for me!

Anyway, I'm going to post my predictions for how I scored, I'll see a week from now how close my predictions are:

    English: 31

    Math: 31 (damn my bladder)

    Reading: 32

    Science: 28

    Overall: 31

Ahhh...ACT for 3rd time this Saturday

Uh. I gotta take this stupid exam for the third time this Saturday. I want to go from a 29 to a 30. Some of you may not be familiar with the ACT, especially if you live on the East Coast (Midwest is completely ACT dominant, SATs are practically unheard of around here). If you're only familiar with the SAT I, this is similar to going from a 1950 to a roughly a 2020. What sucks is I have to get up at 6 am and drive to the test site, because the closest place it's being offered is a long drive away from where I live. Here are my goals for this time:

English: 32 (30 last time, this is very doable for me)

Math: 34 (34 last time, should be able to duplicate that)

This is where it gets really tough for me. My reading comprehension skills aren't that great to say the least.

Reading: 26 (26 last time, supposed to be the easiest section, but it's my worst, a 26 will be hard to match for me.)

Science: 26 (26 last time, toughest section on the entire exam, I really hope I can do well on it)

Overall Composite: 30 If I get a 30 I'll be happy regardless of how I get it. That should be just barely good enough to get me in to Washington University in St Louis. That's where I'll be applying this November. I got my fingers crossed for admission.

Anyway, wish me luck. I really don't want to have to take this exam ever again. It'd be nice to be done with it after this Saturday.
