  Raconteur...

  My first post will be to tell you I just discovered a band tonight - I'm really excited about them and I haven't even heard a note yet. The band is called The Raconteurs, which is a bit of a side project that has some serious potential. Jack White will be the name you've heard before (half of the White Stripes), but what I'm excited about is Brendan Benson. I read someone's comment after hearing the music as it sounding like a modern-day Beatles which is fantastic because that's what Benson's sound is all about, so hoping Jack White's involvement doesn't skew the direction to sound too much like the White Stripes.
  
  Listening to Brendan Benson's "One Mississippi" right now, which is just a great album - you know when you re-discover an album you haven't listened to in 6 months or longer? That's what happened just now, which makes me all that much more excited about the Raconteurs. So anyhow, there's my first blog post, ever...hopefully it makes me look good when this album takes the world by storm ;-)
