  Geoff's Rant 4 - Video Brinquedo/Toyland Video

  Here I am starting yet another rant. Ever since I made my PS3 browser rant, I've always wanted to do more. This time, I rant about a company called "Video Brinquedo" (Toyland Video in English.). What are they you ask? I'll tell you what they are right now.

  Vídeo Brinquedo is a Brazilian animation company which makes really bad, really cheap and nasty, direct-to-video ripoffs of Dreamworks Animation and Pixar's great films. I can't think of one film they've made which is at least half original. They just spit out crappy copies of great films. Now before you say "How do you know what they're like if you've never seen them?". Actually, I have seen clips of them online. I don't need to watch the whole thing to tell it sucks.

  Their films feature horrible dubbed voice acting, dialogue written by a 10 year old, and some of the most disgusting, outdated CGI sequences you'll probably see in your life. What makes me laugh is that on the poster for "Ratatoing", their ripoff of Ratatouille, it says "STUNNING 3D ANIMATION". Yeah right, 25 years ago it would have been stunning, but this is the 21st century. Get with the times, Video Brinquedo! Hell, even Pixar's earliest films have better CGI than any of Video Brinquedo's films.

  The thing that annoys me the most is the fact that Pixar and Dreamworks haven't sued them. They're making cheap rip-offs of their films and they don't even know about it? What the hell? But wait, I could actually be wrong. Mabye Pixar and Dreamworks DO know about it, mabye they're just not suing them because they can't wait to laugh at what horrible rip-off they'll come out with next. That's what I hope, because I won't be able to stand that some company is making money of their concepts while the original creators of the concept don't even know about it .

  If you don't believe me, just take a look for yourself. Search "Ratatoing" on Youtube, and watch the video, but make sure you have a sick bucket with you, unless you can stomach poorly made CGI. They even disable the comments on videos on their Youtube channel!

  Hopefully some day, this company will go bankrupt or get sued so Pixar and Dreamworks won't have to worry about making a film without their concept being stolen. Also, notice how most of their movies have the word "little" in the title. They give Brazil a bad image.
