Intro
There are millions of World War II shooters but this one inst. Nexuiz was released on May 25th, 2005 under the GPL by Alientrap. Go to Nexuiz.com to see it. That means the entire game is totally free thats right free. Now don't think just because its free I'll give it a free ride no I will review this game as well as I can. So how is it? Read on to my Nexuiz review right here and find out.
Game: Nexuiz
Developer: Alientrap
Price: Zero
Platform: PC
Players: 1 to a bazillion
Graphics
The graphics are very polished and pretty. As you can see from the pictures. There is HDR, realtime lighting and shadows. The textures are good even when you walk up to see them up close. You won't believe your eyes when I tell you that it is running the Quake 1 engine!!
Yes, it is actually under the darkplaces engine which is Quake 1 but somehow made like Nexuiz...I'm not sure but anyway. For a free game this looks really great, even better than Metal Gear Solid 4 wich people say is like the best looking game ever which it isnt because Nexuiz looks better.
Gameplay
The gameplay is like awesome and compelling. Nexuiz is like all the other shooter games that you have played so I won't describe it here. But Nexuiz is a lot like Quake 1 but with Quake 3 and lots of other shooter games in there too...its very fast and has lots of weapons. The shotgun is the best, because it has a good spread, but the rocket launcher is really poweful like always...but no BFG like in Quake.
But there are 26 maps, and they are all very fun and excellent.
Multiplayer
Like I said the multiplayer is very fun and fast. The guns are very cool and really fun. Nexuiz is a lot like Quake 1 but with Quake 3 and lots of other shooter games in there too...its very fast and has lots of weapons.
Control
The controls are great. They are fast and well done. Here are some of the buttons you will need to know. WADS to move around, Mouse to look around, Left Mouse button to shoot, Right Mouse button to alt fire, Number buttons to switch guns, there are other buttons but they all work as you would think in this kind of game so Ill let you find out on your own.
Sound
The sound is good, though the music cant always be heard 100% of the time...I mean most of the time Id have it off but you might want to hear it because its not too bad...kind of some techno stuff...the shots sound fantactic like real guns though ive never seen a real gun before...and thats the sound.
Value
Now Ill talk about the value. It can be played for a loooooong time because its an online game lol! Theres also a single player section of the game that I didnt play because I dont care about single player much at all. But there are a lots of people playing online so its lots of fun, if you get into a game that doesnt have any noobs.
So the game has lots of value, dont you worry about that.
Story
Now I'll talk about story. The game doesnt have any story that I could see. But that doesnt mean the story isnt good its about some arena fighters in a battle and they have to FIGHT TO THE DEATH!!!!!! or something like that. I dont know, I just thought that might be it because thats what all these games have like unreal tournament. So I give the story a five.
Cutscenes
There arent any.
ESRB rating
The game is free but I always talk about the ESRB ratings in game reviews so ill do that here. There is no ESRB rating but the game has blood and violence but I still think that kids could play it as long as they keep an eye out for those kinds of bad things.
Players guide
I always talk about the players guide if there is one but there isnt one here. I think Nexuiz needs a little more cowbell lol that episode was just on I love snl
Price
0 dollars!!!!!1!!!!one!!!!!
Ending
So Nexuiz is a fun game, and its free downlaod it right now!!!
Graphics-10 million!!!!
Gameplay-9.764
Control-10
Sound-Texas
Value-9
Story-5.5
ESRB-6.7
Players Guide-3.1415926535ohimesseditup

DISCLAIMER: This is satire. I don't really write like this. This is a review/political message and I hope you learn from it.
A dull update blog about everyone's favorite.
Instead of purchasing Final Fantasy IV, which no retailer happened to stock for me (the spoony bards!), I decided to finally buy The Bedlam in Goliath by the Mars Volta. I'm still wrapping my head around it, but to be honest, the seventy-five minutes I first heard it were the best of my life ever. Amazing CD; a bit loud, but that's Mars Volta.
I'm playing OpenArena like crazy now. I should try and find my real Quake 3 disc (of which OA is a free clone), but that gameplay is very fun lately. Very fast and insane. I can't wait until the browser-based Quake Live launches; I signed up for the beta like three times. I'm also playing Total Annihilation some more, which is good old RTS goodness (all with a great orchestrated soundtrack).
I'll get FFIV by the end of the week, but right now the Bedlam in Goliath is my focus. Playing that CD while playing Quake 3? Priceless.
Piece out.
The N64 could hold 64 MB in one of its carts. They took advantage of it, but in the end it was the PS1 that beat it down with a much bigger 700 MB per CD, and it was much cheaper. The PS1 was the winner of that generation, because of the storage space.
The DS can hold up to 256 MB, but nobody (aside from Archaic Sealed Heat, Japan only) has used even half of this yet. Instead, most developers would rather cram their game into 128 MB cards instead, or even 64 MB if its small enough. The thing is, I have no idea why.
In games like Final Fantasy III, it might have been a little better had the developers let the data breathe a little, especially when the music sounds so compressed and poor. Imagine that, instead of cramming as before, Square-Enix does their remake routine with VI, but uses all 256 MB of the card to introduce a new, fully orchestrated soundtrack and quality voice-overs. All without the hiss or distortion of the other games, that sound as good as an MP3 player. That, and full-length CGI movies that don't look like they're made of fuzzy Tetris pieces. Why the heck not?
Is is price? Doubt it. I would pay an extra five bucks for a bigger game; who wouldn't? We already pay the ten dollar Square tax, right? With the prices of flash drives, flash cards and all portable storage dropping so fast, the cost is barely a factor. And if its about load times, I care very little, as long as I get a nice looking and sounding game eventually. I know I'm not alone.
The thing is, here, is that I see DS games hurt by compression, trying to fit into too-small cards. So why aren't developers using the space they have, when so many games obviously need it?
*Note: Some games don't, of course. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl fit onto a 64 MB card with room to spare (it was about 20 MB), and it's not alone. I'm talking about games like Elite Beat Agents and Final Fantasy, here, where they use every bit possible.
I ask you to read the new reviews below, but picture time. Nostalgia first.

I was the King of Donuts, and our team was Team Donut. So I sat on top. Gawsh that was funny. To view the entire picture, right click and select "View Picture" or something of that nature, because you're missing Alex's section.

Kratos' infamous ugly dog. Nintendogs review, nonetheless. BlueJ, you remember this, I know you do. You also remember me posting it in Kratos' face when he got grumpy.
Nostalgia over.

I made this for Facebook. That's me about a year ago. I thought it was funny, anyway. That was the week I also changed my status to "Friends with Benefits" on Facebook and then laughed myself silly when people asked me "With WHOM?!" They were just jealous.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
I love the description. So awesome. "for the Trolls are vegetarians..."

Because the GBA does rule. That's my finger, yes.
While waiting for my new Linux games to download (because Windows versions don't work for some reason, ahem) I decided to go absolutely crazy and actually do something with my Gamespot page, considering how much I'm on. So all kinds of new things are abound, including perhaps half of my games collection, and lots of little inside jokes that make me amused. Woot woot.
I'd also like to publicly state that I hate Alien Arena 2008 because it fails to run on a single machine in my house, even though it was based off of Quake II. That's very old, for those who don't know. I know for a fact that in a month I will change my mind, but it's still better than nothing. So Alien Arena 2008 is currently the thing I hate.
I would also like to publicly state that I have an ACT score of 30. My writing score (ironically) wasn't very good, but the rest was, despite the fact that I guessed more than not. Hey, gotta be lucky sometimes, right? Finally proof that I'm not an idiot! Now back to playing more VIDEO GAMES!
Chowder is a relatively new show on Cartoon Network, and when my brother and sister had it on I decided to sit down and watch too. Later in the episode there was a Katamari Damacy reference that I'm convinced I'm one of two people who recognized and therefore made me laugh my eyes out. I suggest anyone who gets the chance to view the episode "Grubble Gum." Excellent.
I'm listening to Amputechture still. I love Mars Volta way too much for it to be healthy, but still. Tetragrammatron is the best song ever made. I'm also listening to all of my Overclocked Remix music, because who doesn't like Techno Square-Enix to death? Voices of the Lifestream is a total success (but not an epic win).
I'm messing with Total Annihilation as well, because it runs way better than StarCraft in Ubuntu and happens to be more insane, which is my kind of game. I also like the pretty soundtrack, even if I rarely have it playing while the game is. That is of course a fault of Alien Arena 2008, because I hate that game.
I started tracking fifteen or more people today for friend hopes. Welcome to those who bothered to take a look. Here I am, isn't that the funniest thing to EVER SAW?!
...
That is all for now.
EDIT: I spelled ironically wrong. LAME.
And I also wanted to say that I watched Howl's Moving Castle again, and it was better than I remember. Very recommended.
