A Little Less Wise
This blog is kind of hard to type since I'm holding an ice pack up to my face. In case you're wondering why, I got 4 wisdom teeth removed yesterday so my face kind of hurts... a bit
The surgery wasn't too bad though. I have no idea what was in the IV they hooked me up to, but I have never been that relaxed before in my life (even when I heard the ripping noise my teeth made)! It only took 10 mins. too
I just really miss being able to chew solid food. It was also nothing compared to the surgery I had in Sept.Luckily this is a great time to relax, play games, eat ice cream (which feels awesome after you've had teeth removed!), and catch up on GameSpot stuff!
-Gaming Stuff-
Now Playing: I've dug out my DS (which is still the old "fat one" by the way
) and I've started playing Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga and The World Ends With You. These are two titles from my pile of games I need to beat from last blog. I'm not far enough into The World Ends With You to offer any opinions on it, but Superstar Saga is really fun! I love the sense of humor in it
Christmas Wish List: It's Dec. 1st which means it's Christmas in 25 days (oh and my birthday in 24
)! I can't afford any new games, but my parents said they'll get me some for Christmas! I've asked for 7 games but told them they only have to get me my top 4. Here's my list:- Banjo Tooie (N64)- Yes, the old Nintendo 64 version of it! I owned it a while ago but sold it. I loved the music and atmosphere in the game and would love to own it once again.
- Assassin's Creed II (Xbox 360) - I enjoyed the first one despite it's major flaw: repetitiveness. Based on the reviews, it seems Ubisoft got the sequel right! They need to work on the commercials though

- InFamous (PS3)- I've Heard nothing but good things about it!
- Uncharted 2 - Haven't played the first one but oh well.
- Batman Arkham Asylum (PS3)- Again, I've heard nothing but good things.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360)- I'm not a huge fan of shooting games but I've decided to give this one a try.
- Dragon Age: Origins (PS3) - It's been a while since I've played a new RPG and this one looks awesome!
You'll notice that there are more PS3 versions of games on my list than Xbox 360 games. That's only because I want to try and have an even number of games for both
Also, notice there's not a single Wii game on my list. That's mostly because I can't think of any Wii games worth getting this year... 2010 should be a great year for the Wii though (new Zelda, Mario, and Metroid!
).-Life Stuff-
I'm taking a slight break from my project this week due to the pain where my wisdom teeth use to be
I thought I'd explain how my project is going so far though. I won't bore anyone with details, but if you're considering a career in Electronics, here's some of the cool stuff you get to do!Right now my partner and I have our first circuit board made (well I did this board but my partner has to do the next one
). It started out with a schematic, and then I had to make a board layout design with a computer program. After 2 days (and lots of frustration) here's what the finished layout design looked like:
Way harder to make than it looks like

I used this to create files for the machine that actually etches, drills, and cuts out the board from a special piece of cooper. Thankfully, the instructor made an easy to use guide on how to get all the files right (otherwise I would have been totally lost). Here's my board being created by the machine:

It took the machine about 6 hours to make my board. That means I had to sit there and stare at itmake the board for 6 hours.
I took the pictures above mainly out of boredom. The machine also costs about $30,000 so I'm glad I didn't break it! Once the board was finished, my instructor told me to put it in liquid tin which will help me solder components to it:
My circuit board's nice relaxing "Tin Bath"
There were about a dozen warnings on the Liquid Tin bottle so I was a little scared using it.
My instructor gave me gloves though. After I was done, he did one of his boards and took it out with his bare hands! All that's left is to solder the parts on to the board, then I can start testing it. It better work after all that!
So yeah, my project is slowly coming along. I still need to worry about that 40 page report once all the hands on stuff is done though.
***
My head hurts, my jaw hurts, and I really want to eat something solid! Other than that, I'm happy since it's my favourite month of the year!

Have an awesome week everyone!!

Gone Platinum! (Plus That Tagging Thingy)
Hey guys!
I've returned from yet another one of my many disappearances from GameSpot (sorry it keeps happening
). I'm fully recovered from my surgery now so I've been really busy with my college project, plus I'm back at work now. I'm also broke at the moment... I can barely afford rent so buying new games isn't going to happen for a while. I guess that's the reason I haven't been on GS: I hate hearing about all the games I can't play.Anyway, I see that tagging thing is back. I actually got tagged by david_lck over a month ago so this is a bit late
Here are 10 facts about me:Got my first platinum PS3 trophy for Resident Evil 5 on Nov. 9th! I ended up soloing Professional mode with the infinite Rocket Launcher. Special thanks to s0njas0n and Gamer_4_Fun for offering to team up for it though. If you guys still need my help, I'll try to be online more.

I'm addicted to Tim Hortons coffee. For those of you who haven't heard of it, it's a popular coffee shop chain here in Canada. Seriously, I get pretty cranky if I don't have at least one a day....

I'm a huge procrastinator. That's probably the main reason I'm still stuck at college doing my project.
My all time favourite game is still the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. No other game has drawn me in so much.
I've been in the Canadian Army Reserves since Grade 11. In real life, I've fired two different types of machine guns, an assault rifle, a shotgun, thrown 4 live frag grenades, and done lots of other awesome stuff. It's the best part time job I can think of.

My favourite TV show is The Simpsons. They may have gone a little downhill over the years, but I still love watching the new episodes.
My ultimate dream is to own my own company. Then I can afford all the games I could ever want!
I love dogs and cats! I don't have any at my apartment but my parents have 5 cats and a dog.
I'm studying electronics in college. Once I finally get that project done, I'll be a technologist which is sort of like a level below engineer.
There are still 22 games in my collection I haven't beaten yet.

I'll tag some people that aren't around much anymore (if at all) just to end this thing
: Xanthio, tyployt, and amward2001.Well, that's all I feel like writing. I'll try to catch up on all the blogs I missed within a few days (told you I'm a procrastinator

A Purple Dragon and Turkey!
Thanks for all the well wishes last blog!
The surgery went well and I'm feeling much better now. I wasn't too thrilled with staying in the hospital for 3 days (the food sucked), but I discovered this awesome little thing called the Morphine pump so it wasn't so bad
And I'm pretty sure I had a few messed up dreams while I was under but, thankfully, I can't remember them
In fact, I don't even remember going to sleep. I just remember them hooking me up to an IV, then getting really dizzy. Next thing I know, I'm in the recovery room
During these past few weeks I've been staying at my parents' house while I recover. All I've been doing is sleeping and playing World of Warcraft (to be fair, it's the only game I have here
). I'll probably be returning to my apartment on Tuesday so it's back to RE5 platinum hunting and, I guess, working on my senior project... maybe
-Gaming Updates-
Nightnova (Level 80, Night Elf Druid): Got the cool purple dragon mount!

Saayuko (Level 68, Orc Hunter): Have a full set of level 60 PVP armor and tamed a T-Rex type pet. I named him Patches as a "Family Guy" reference.

-Random Thoughts-
Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all my fellow Canadians! I've always wondered why we celebrate it in October and people in the United States celebrate it in November, so I asked Google. Turns out our Thanksgivings are both for different reasons. In Canada, we're giving thanks to a bountiful harvest. In the United States, you guys celebrate the Pilgrims settling the new world. Either way, Turkey is involved, we just get ours first.
Watching The Simpsons, Family Guy, and bad horror movies after you've had major abdominal surgery is not a good idea

I found a great job opportunity I want to apply for as soon as I get my diploma. It's a private company that designs weapons for the Canadian Navy. Me being a woman in the Army Reserves just about tripled my chances of being hired! I need that project done now!!
- Summer is over!
The scenery at my parents house is beautiful this time of year though. Well, at least until the leaves fall of the trees, then it gets pretty depressing because winter is coming.

Above is a picture of the field in front of my parents house.

There's a major river that runs in my parents backyard (they have 47 acres of property so it's a pretty huge backyard
).***
