In a single fell swoop - in one palm-sweat-inducing, ball-buster of a mission - I have become the number one Stalker of The Zone. I am the Champion of The Arena. I am the conquerer of Mutants and Mercs. I am a legend.
Victory is so sweet in this game, but the aftertaste is rather dry. No one seems to care that they're speaking to the Number One Stalker. Their little greetings are exactly the same as they were before. Also, my brand spanking new killing machine lacks scope support, and uses a very rare type of ammunition. I'm concerned about my long-term prospects with this beast of a machine gun. Luckily, it's so powerful and accurate, and my aim is improving so quickly, that I can usually kill my target with one well-placed burst to the upper torso or head. It does have grenade-launcher support, but I find grenade ammo to be a bit heavy to carry around. Weight is a big issue in this game. They should have increased the upper limit by 15 pounds or so, or at least allowed for items that increased the limit, such as special backpacks or strength-increasing suits of armor (strength being measured entirely by your carry limit, since there is no strength statistic in the game).
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is quickly becoming a favorite game of mine. It is bound for cult status. Destined for it.
