I need to play Mass Effect myself, my housemate keeps telling me what I'm missing out on. I'll check out your SCIV review, next. :)

While there are not a lot of games released recently, I have actually been spending a lot of time playing games. Last week, I managed to complete Assassin's Creed and this week I have spent time playing the following games.
What I'm Playing Right Now.
Black (PlayStation 2)
The game from 2006 was a title I picked up back then and while I enjoyed it, I didn't bother to finish it. I am trying to change that but right now I am being extremely challenged with the last level of the game. The graphics and sounds are incredible but the only downside is the few checkpoints available in the game. This is a game that screams for either quick-saves or more frequent checkpoints. I hope to finish the last level, but on Normal I have died about 7 times at the same point and I just cannot proceed any futher.
Mass Effect (Xbox 360)
I cannot believe I did not play this game when it was released last October, it is such a great game. I love the graphics, sound and storyline. I am still in the First act of the game, (I just became a Spectre), so I have a lot to do. I have been spending time doing side-quests and I want my characters to be as ready as possible before I take on the main-quest. I probably should have bought this for my LapTop, but I cannot complain with the 360 version. So far, there is only one problem with the game and that is the occassional freezes and the elevators. In fact, I had the game freeze while in the elevators.
Soulcalibur IV (PS3)
I am a big fan of the series and my love of it continues with this edition. I really like the graphics and the sound and the Character Creator is fun. Online is ok, but I need to improve before I bother to really take on people. I wrote my review of the game and I strongly suggest you read it and recommend it (or don't).
PixelJunk Monsters (PSN)
I picked this up a few days ago for only 5 dollars and I really enjoy it. It's not your normal game but a fun title none-the-less. It's a strategy game where you need to create towers to protect a village against 10 waves of enemies. It's not an easy game, but for five dollars, you cannot complain about the value. It's not 5 dollars anymore, but even at 10 dollars, it's a great game.
That is it for games I am actually currently playing. I did pick up a few more titles in the past 10 days. Including Soulcalibur IV and PixelJunk Monsters, I also bought Bully: Scholarship Ediiton and World of Warcraft Battlechest. Both games were 30 dollars each and both are games I wanted. Bully should be fun and World of Warcraft was inevitable since I can honestly say I enjoyed the 14 day trial. Considering I got both the Regular and the Expansion for 30 dollars, it's a great deal. I doubt I will become a MMORPG fanatic, I could see it as a fun distraction and maybe with the 2nd expansion right around the corner, I can have some fun with others.
