So last week the blogs were filled with Giant Bomb talk and this week it's all about the Beta that is beta.gamespot.com. I've been using it for the past few days (technically the weekend) and I really do enjoy it. It takes a bit of time getting used to at first, but I think once it's fully operational, it should be nice. My one complaint so far is the lack of tracked blogs. Before it was 10 (I believe) now only 3 of my GSpot 'friends' is showing; with a lot of people tracked, I won't be caught up with everyone. Hopefully we can expand this. That is my only complaint, if you even want to call it that...let's call it my suggestion to the beta.
Last night I watched Jumper, the Hayden Christensen film. While it wasn't a great movie, it's not that bad either. A great idea for a sci-fi film but I do agree that Hayden is not that great of an actor. Jamie Bell was good and Samuel L. Jackson was also his normal self, but Christensen just is not a leading man. Maybe sometime down the road, but not yet. The best part of the movie was Rachel Bilson; every second she's on the screen, I am in love. She is definitely on my top-five list of famous people I have absolutely no chance with.
edit: Yes, I do realize there are a lot of plot-holes and continuity errors in this movie and it does hurt the overall scheme of the film; but for a mindless 'action' film, it does have its moments. I do wish they had explained more about the History of Jumpers and I wish they explain the people who got jumped (spoiler: Bus from London and the Truck that lands in the WarZone).
In gaming, after finishing Assassin's Creed, I started to try to finish a few more games. I am currently on the last mission of Black and it is freaking killing me. The checkpoints are so few and far between that I just can't get to one before dying. I even 'cheated' and dropped to the easiest difficulty and that still didn't help. I would love to finish it this week. I also spent some time tonight playing Mass Effect; I really like this game and I might focus my time on it.
To finish off my blog today, I finally 'discovered' Remote Play with my PS3/PSP and I really like it. I played PixelJunk Eden, watched some trailers and even played Street Fighter Alpha 3 from my PSOne collection. PixelJunk ran well, the trailers were ok, but look better on my small television and Street Fighter, other than the slight lack, played well. If you have both a PS3 and PSP you should connect the two. I am really eager for this once PixelJunk Eden comes out (which is rumored to be this Thursday). Also, I now will buy PixelJunk Monsters since it's only 5 bucks (until said Thursday).
Have a good week; mine will be busy working...hurrah for the 9 to 5 life, even with mine being 7:30 to 4.
