Kicking Some Wookie A**!
Check out this Vanity Fair(??) article on the upcoming Force Unleashed, not exactly sure why VF did a write up on this, SW does always seem to make the cover when a movie comes out, but its a great article, stuff we already know about, but always nice to get more tidbits until the game is released.
Are you as excited as me??

Gaming Down-Under: An Expose
If you've ever wondered what it was like be a gamer on the other side of the world, let me take you on a little ride. Now before I begin I should say I am an American living in New Zealand so this wont be how easy Americans have it buying in the US or how bad it is for anyone else. This is just to show the state of gaming in Austral Asia.
So you’re looking for a new title on the 360, maybe GRAW or Dead Rising or the newest entry from Sam Fisher, here is what you might find at your local EB Games:

$129.95 for a new game!!!! That is more than double the cost of a new game in the US. I can remember begging for the newest NES games when I was a kid, and those were $20-30, now imagine a kid today begging to get a game and its $130!!! You can buy a new PS2 or X-Box for that much money at home and you can only get one game here. Maybe I could trade some games in? Yeah, 2 new 360 games and its still $49.95.
Even if we consider the exchange rate, which doesn’t matter to Kiwis, but for arguments sake, $130NZ is still roughly $88US. I don’t know if the small market is creating these prices or the game companies just feel they can charge this much.
What do you think? Any Kiwis on these pages have any thoughts?

Excited about Wii!
I havent owned a Nintendo system since the N64 and I didnt think I would ever own one again. I predicted that Nintendo would defintely come out on the bottom of the pile after 360 and PS3, but the Wii has got me thinking.
There are few things that are looking quite attractive to me now about the system: 1. the controller, it might become a novelty but at least they're trying something new. 2. the price tag, cheaper than 360 and half as much as PS3, no comparison. 3. CLASSIC GAMES! The thought of playing classic games like Contra, Kid Icarus, Castlevania, Metroid, Baseball Stars, Kung Fu, oh I could go on for days, has gotten me giddy. I'm actually waxing nostalgic right now just thinking about the hours and hours playing my first NES. Oh those were the days, before $50-60 games and the console wars
Any thoughts?
