Xbox 360 finally
i finally got my xbox 360, and the first game i downloaded was test drive unlimited, damn, if for no other reason, get a 360 just to play that game (if u love car games). the car handling is impressively solid, better than i expected, and the online mode is so much fun to play. anyway, i can't wait for the full version in september, i'll be waiting in line for this one.
i did play PGR3 briefly, but after picking up test drive, doubt i'll ever go back to PGR3, its that good. the 360 is cool and all, but whats with the brick of a power supply, lol, and it sure does heat up pretty quick, thinking of getting a small fan to cool it down, so it doesn't start freezing up on me. marketplace is a god send, haven't even bothered to buy any games yet, been downloading demo's all day, and though i don't want to spend $50 bucks on xbox live, it sures does make sense after playing all them demo's for free, cus after my one month trial, no more free downloads.
i am a bit confused about the warranty cus i spent $40 bucks on it for a year, but after opening it up, i saw a coupon that said i could get it for 2 years for $60. will call microsoft to clearify that. but all in all, its a solid package, have my HD Tv, though i'm thinking of getting the VGA HD cables, cus I'm not wowed by the standard composite HD cables. and whats with the 11gb free space, that sucks, i know there are some trailers, but i doubt after deleting them, i'll get my 20gb. oh well, i got me a 360, and thats all that matters for now, until its starts acting up, and i start getting pissed...lol.

Forza 2 vs GT HD - Round 1
I am a big GT fan, but we all know Forza won the first round. Well thats in the past now, round 2, ding ding, ready or not, the fight is on and its going to be a bloody one.
Early impressions from E3 are not really giving away much, GT HD looks just like GT4 in HD with more cars, Forza's graphics dont look too next gen, but i'm guessing that is because cars will get totally damaged this time, from the clip that showed even the brake disc getting cracked from a wall collision.
In my humble opinion these are a couple of things we need to see in these two games for them to even be counted as true contenders: graphical detail surpassing both PGR3 and Testdrive Unlimited both exterior and interior, full customization of e'thing customizable on cars, total destruction of cars, and last but not least ultra realistic physics models.
It definately is going to be a tough one, cus GT HD seems good to go on the graphics dept. but we don't know if they are going to add destruction. Forza 2 seems to have good destructive physics, but they are still behind GT in the graphics dept. These are just some of the basics.
Free roaming environments, driving up to race events, interactive avatars, real walk-in garages, manually fixing up ur car with ur avatar, creating and hosting ur own race events online, world touring event in which u have to complete various race missions to make it to various famous world tracks, control of race team that travels with you from country to country in an entourage of trailers with all your cars (or just those cars u need for the event u are traveling to), building up ur rep to create new race teams that u will manage (buying & selling cars, look for sponsorships, sign deals, hire and fire avatars who race for u), taking ur team online and recruiting real life players to be part of ur team and vice versa, online spectator mode in which friends can sit in car with u whiles u drive and have a 360 view of e'thing in the car, and many more. We could go on and on with what we want, but a fine balance of some of these features and not "the same old pick a car from a huge list and go and drive around a track we have driven around over and over again" would definately bring a sigh of relief to the repetitiveness to this genre and truely move us into the next generation of driving simulation.
