Well I got a PS3. Pretty sweet actually and it came with inFamous and Batman: Arkham Asylum. So I checked out inFamous first.
Well playing on the PS3 on the first time is hugely overwhelming as I am a casual Nintendo player (I still am). But inFamous felt like a very welcoming game. You play as a bike deliverer named Cole who unknowingly sends a bomb, which explodes and blows up the city. The city gets pretty screwed up but you get awesome electrical powers. So you go and work for a woman who will let you go in exchange in helping her find her husband, which during the journey helps or destroys the city, depending on your actions.
The gameplay is something like if you stuck the free roaming of Assassin's Creed in an electrical outlet, or something like that. You get to climb on many surfaces using your powers to take down the baddies (or the Reapers in the beginning of the game). It is somewhat very awesome, but when you start upgrading, that's when you start having fun. So far the game is holding up really well and based on my 2 hour experience I think this was a great starting game. Problem is I had 3 projects during my break, so I didn't play too much.

Whenever I go to school for months, I get worn out after 6 months and want a break, demaning that I not use my thinking. During that break I spend my gaming time thinking about how I'm supposed play RPGs. Where's the logic in that?

As you all may know, Guitar Hero and Rock Band are a dominating factor in the music game industry and people seem to love those games. Time after time a new game gets released and they expect us to pay $60. I find that to be a bit ridiculous, and it really makes people turn away from buying them, especially newcomers who usually pay more than $150 for a new copy of the new game with the needed instruments of guitars, a drum, and a mic. It may seem hopeless, but it's not and I made this guide on how to get good deals on the music games, while getting the most out of your money. And note that some of these statements are based on my own personal opinion. So without further ado, enjoy!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1: Browse through the different versions and see differences in quality
This is a rather easy one. All you have to do is to look up the specific music game you want on an informational website (I use Wikipedia, though it's not 100% accurate) and see the perks of each console version and pricing. My example would be Rock Band 2. The Wii version is $10 cheaper, yet it has all the features of the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions. But one major difference is that the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 version has the ability to upload most of the setlist of the original Rock Band for only $5. If you have a PS3/Xbox 360 and a Wii, it is obvious that you would get more out of you money if you didn't buy the Wii version, because essentially you will have to only fork over $15 for over 40 songs. Now that is a deal.
The same can be said about Guitar Hero in terms of buying the Wii version. The Wii version and the other console versions are essentially the same, save for the graphics. And a warning is that just because the same game is made for a different platform doesn't mean you will be getting the same game. The Wii version of the original Rock Band was missing a World Tour Mode, character customization and DLC. Many unknowing people can fall for that and be left with half a game. Doing these steps will all help you see the pros and cons between the versions, and it will help you to get the best game for your liking.
2: Look at the setlist
Many people whine that The Beatles: Rock Band and Guitar Hero: Metallica had too few of songs in them and Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band 2 are better deals. That doesn't necessarily work. Honestly, can you really say that you love every last song in those games? I personally did not like the bonus songs in Guitar Hero III at all (which were quite a few) and about a few songs in the career mode, but I loved most of the songs in The Beatles: Rock Band. Buy a game that you are most comfortable with in terms of the setlist as well, not just solely the gameplay. I mean what good does a World Tour mode have if you really don't like any songs in the game. There's no point in playing a music game if you hate the music (the genre would kind of lose it's purpose there).
Another thing you should do is to check the DLC for the games (definitely if you own a Rock Band game). There are a variety of songs that range through many genres. Though the songs are great, they all cost $2 (they are a bit cheaper if you buy them off a pack), and since I am helping you to find the cheapest way to get a full music experience, this is not really advised.
3: Look at the older games in the series and just WAIT
This may sound weird, but have you looked at Best Buy on how much Guitar Hero or Guitar Hero II costs? Well you can buy them as a combo for under $50. Each game was $70 on the Playstation 2 with a guitar. Recently I went to my local GameStop and I saw many Gibson SG guitar controllers hanging there for less than $20, which to me is a great deal. Guitar Hero was a great game in 2006, and though it's showing it's age a bit it is still a very solid game, and a great deal in general.
Remember Rock Band 2? Remember how the full experience cost over $150 in August of 2008? Well in the holiday season of 2009, you can get the full kit for only $100 at certain retailers. The whole music industry in video games produces so many games that you can easily snag a year old game for half its value. Just wait, in a year or two, the $200 Beatles: Rock Band kit will go for $100. It's all in a matter of patience.
Another thing that worked well with me was visiting the game websites (particularly Red Octane's), where you can get great deals on the particular game that you want and their instruments. You can also get instruments bundled with the older games, like I mentioned with Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II. And then there is always eBay, where they have a huge variety of great deals. Remember there are many places you can get great deals, you just have to look hard enough. And keep in mind if you play by yourself and only are interested in one instrument, don't go buying the whole band kit. You simply don't need it and you'll just be wasting your money.
4: Mix and Match
This is probably one of the best methods of saving money for yourself. After newer instruments were released, the older instruments for the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games have gone down pretty well. Those expensive Rock Band drums that came out in 2007 are now at cheaper prices. The cheapest I found at the retailers was for only $30 at Best Buy. And that Guitar Hero II Gibson Explorer guitar was around $20. Mixing and matching between brands can often lead to great buys and usually you get a better deal than buying a full kit. But you should be very careful on whether the instrument brand has a had a history of defects *cough* Guitar Hero: World Tour *cough*
One thing I particularly dislike was when EA and Activision had that lawsuit and the Rock Band and Guitar Hero instruments and games were not cross compatible. Fortunately, that is no the case (no pun intended) anymore and you can play Rock Band with Guitar Hero instruments and vice-versa. However the Wii version of Guitar Hero II and World Tour are not compatible with Rock Band instruments. You should definitely research to see if your instruments are compatible before making a purchase.
5: Keep the game you bought and don't look back
Hey look this Guitar Hero has a jukebox mode! Hey this Rock Band has Legos! Hey, this Guitar Hero makes you a sandwich! Most of those things can be passed (though I would like a nice sandwich right about now), simply because those are small features that you can live without. Try not to fall into the habit of buying games within a two year period as it can assure you that the developers have not worked hard enough on the game and they were just in a rush. Tell me how different is Guitar Hero: World Tour from Guitar Hero 5 in terms of gameplay. Nothing.
If a game does not have a good setlist or is simply the same game with a coat of paint, with little innovation, then avoid it. If you really want it then go buy it, though you will save more money by just waiting. There's like over 15 Guitar Hero games anyway, and unfortunately Rock Band is falling in the same trend, just not as extreme, (though their games are a lot more worked out).
6. If a franchise is better than the other, then change franchises
This is only in terms of presentation and gameplay, rather than the music itself. I'll be honest, I thought Rock Band sucked when it came out and was convinced that Guitar Hero can do miles better. When Guitar Hero: World Tour came out I was in shock and surprise, since there was no change besides the fact that you can play with more instruments (I have not played Guitar Hero or Guitar Hero II, so Guitar Hero III was not a disappointment. I got Rock Band 2 as a present from one of my friends and when I popped it in my Wii, I really could not compare the quality difference between that and the latter series. I was simply impressed. I thought everything was great and to this day I still play it.
To make it simple, imagine Taster A had been making good toasters every year, but Toaster B comes every two years and is better in quality and both have relatively the same price. Which one do you get? I would personally choose Toaster B.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the end when you buy these video games keep in mind that you are buying them just to have fun. The music genre is just like any other video game genre and having fun is all it counts. Thanks for reading.- Posted Nov 22, 2009 11:33 am PT

Currently I am writing a review for The Beatles: Rock Band and I want to see if you prefer me to write the next rview (Zelda: Ocarina of Time) for the N64 or VC.
Also I found something cool on Nintendo's website. It's called Club Nintendo and you register your Nintendo products (DS and Wii games) and at the end of the year period (in the summer) you win a prize depending on the points you have. Last year was either a Mario hat or an extra level in Punch-Out!! with a fight against Doc Louis. I just ordered 3 Zelda posters that cost 300 points (6 Wii games).

Note: this is legal and is part if Nintendo's official website.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare review up next week. The Beatles Rock Band will be up in a while (I've only played for about an hour, I want to take my time) So yeah. Have a great day/night.
UPDATE!: I got a weekend project (5th time in a row) that I was doing so I had to postpone the review. Hopefully I'm in the clear this weekend. (hopefully)
UPDATE!: Delayed once again by an essay and a project. I cannot assure that I can finish up by this Friday, but if I'm clear for the weekend then I'll finish writing it.

*note that I only played for a couple of hours*
I have received Modern Warfare as one of my presents and I have to say it is quite good, really good actually. It seems that Infinity Ward never ceases to impress me with their shooter they release and this is definitely no exception. The thing that sets it apart from the Call of Duty franchise is that it is set in the present day and it is actually a breath of fresh air comparing to the overpopulating shooters out there.
One thing I like is that they kept the core shooting in the game and improved upon it greatly. It feels more polished than ever, but made it feel new enough to set it apart from the previous games. I cannot tell you enough of how many times that the grenade re-throw is absolute genius. One other thing noting is the newer weapons in the game. What else can I say? They are just great and each of them have a distinct feeling (just a warning out there, do not give me a loaded shotgun in the game and leave me with a room full of terrorists, because it can get messy). The AI is also very good and they are not stupid to let you shoot at so easily. They will fight back and take cover when necessary. But they are also not so smart that they will make you feel like a complete noob. In the end the difficulty is just right.
And last comes the online play. It is just great and I really am enjoying it. I find the leveling up and perks just great. Though it is annoying to play this game when you are a casual player going against COD gurus who have all the weapons and perks unlocked and keep on killing you. But those gripes aside, the online play is spectacular.
Overall I enjoyed this game and recommend it to anyone who has any interest in shooters.

It's getting closer to my birthday and I was hoping to get The Beatles: Rock Band and I check the price. It's $60 on the Wii and this is just stupid. Activision did the same move with Modern Warfare 2 on the PC and Guitar Hero 5 on the Wii. This is getting ridiculous. You should not be able to pay over $50 on a peripheral-less game whatsoever and EA and Activision should be ashamed of themselves for even having this idea. One of the points of the Wii is to be affordable and they should not forget that. Thanks alot EA. Way to make the economy grow by selling a 40 song game for 60 dollars. And great news my GH guitar has some manufacturing issues on it. Now I get to listen to customer service telling me repeatedly to check if the Wii Mote is connected to the guitar even though I'm repeating that that's not the issue I'm having! Great!

Well today was the last day of summer and I have to say it was pretty relaxing, and with the start of school tomorrow, I will be busy. So I won't be visiting Gamepot as much as I wish I would. I'm also aware that I'm still one review short of being able to get a recommendation emblem. So I might write one last review on Friday night. So it was a great summer and I had fun spending some time gaming. It's also funny that my 50th blog is my final one. I will post if I have the time to, but don't expect too many "serious blogs". Well till some other time, goodbye.
UPDATE!: If you notice that my blog layout looks differet, it's because I'm doing something for a contest called, "Greatest Game Her" and my favorites were Link, Little Mac, and The Prince, but after the event I'll probably change it back.

The second review is Super Punch-Out!!
Now I need one more review to be able to get nominated for the top 100 or 500 reviewers. I hope I can get one, because I really worked hard on all my reviews.
So enjoy! And if you want to leave feedback on my reviews feel free to do so.

Yes, I wan't too active renetly. But I am writing 2 reviews, here's my proof for one of the reviews:

If you can guess what games they are, you win a special prize. You can either get alot of money, or the SUper Secret Awesome Turbo Mega Prize.
Here's the money:

That's alot of money
I'm also almost done with Doom 3. It's okay, just kinda repetitive, but it's still a good alternative to the barage of Nintendo games I've been playing. And no, it's not the slightest bit scary.
I've also found this great movie for $7:

Normally I stick to Marvel Comics. but DC movies are usually great, so for 7 dollars it's very reasonable. The problem though is that the DVD case is not plastic but cardboard, but then again it was $7 dollars.
So have a great day/night.

Over the years I have realized that gaming has become a more serious matter than before. No longer do people judge on how the game is just fun, but rather than how well the production values, graphics, and presentation are. Many developers are now taking this under consideration and work on the production values a lot higher than before. But a problem is that there are less people who are interested in the imagination presented through the games, which is a shame, considering how imagination is what brought gaming to what it was.
Back in the days of the Atari 2600 the developers didn't have much to work with in their hands, all they could make were little shapes of color doing small actions like "shoot" or "punch" and it was apparent that realism is out of the question. However, they did have one thing at hand and that was creativity. Look at this picture:

What does it look to you? If your answer was a man with two ladders then you are wrong. In the minds of these developers it was an adventurer searching for treasure with two passages leading him to the unknown, while surrounded in a fearsome jungle and a huge log that he can't pass through. This is what had people coming for games besides the simple gameplay, the imagination through the graphics. These games are what sparked and fueled our minds wit endless wonders. You had to think beyond of what is presented in front of you.
After the reign of the Atari 2600 and later consoles, a new era of imagination has begun. No longer were you guessing what the graphics were telling you, you had a clear vision of what was presented to you. Basically, what you saw was what you got. This era came in the form of a console called the Nintendo Entertainment System. The imagination used in the console was limitless and it was in the form of the graphics, just like the Atari 2600 but different. The imaginations presented were about plumber consuming mushrooms to turn bigger, jumping on turtles, going through pipes to get closer to a princess he is trying to rescue from a dragon. Sounds stupid, but it was made into one of the most revolutionary games of all time.

On paper, this is the stupidest idea ever
The whole basis of creating and imaginative game is by creating something unreal, something that can only happen through the mind of the gamer playing it, something that will make the gamer think and see the wonders of the product. This was the basis for most of the games, providing a fun and imaginative experience that you can't get from the real world.

What will be in store for us in the future?
This basis was used for many consoles to come including ranging all the way to the 7th generation of consoles. Though many games have no sense of imagination (most sports games), the imagination has always been within the games, much less graphically these days, but more gameplay-wise. Imagination is something that will always be within games, in some form or another. People may ask how? My answer is that games like infamous, Fallout 3, and even Call of Duty 4 may seem "realistic" graphically, but it is oozing in imagination gameplay, story, and setting-wise. Seeing how imagination in gaming has evolved, who knows what will be in store for us in years to come. Thanks for reading, feel free to leave a comment

Ever since I came back from Phoenix I'vebeen pretty inactive on my blogs, so on my behalf I apologize. Also school starts in 2 weeks, so in 2 weeks I'll be shutting down my game systems for a good while, which I hate, but for me my academics come first so no first impressions or reviews will be done. However every month or 2 I'll be posting a blog, which is scarce, but I wish I could write more.
I got a recent purchase yesterday at Best Buy. I went and bought Wii Sports Resort and Terminator 2: Judgement Day for 3 dollars (which was a complete bargain being that it is also the Special Edition DVD). I have to say, watching this moie again, I remembered how incredible it was. If you haven;t seeen it go on and buy it and if you haven't seen the series, I suggest you do (by that I mean watch the first 2, though it is possible starting with the sequel). If I had to give it a rating it would be a 10/10.
In other news I bought Wii Sports Resort yesterday and I have to say it is extremely fun if you're in the right mindset. The minigames are a whole lot deeper spawning from different games within the minigames, to being able to choose stages, and the controls just sweeten the deal. My favorite sports are cycling and sword play (or whatever). Actually the sword combat is prety fun and it has 3 dfferent modes; duel where you try to hit you opponent out of the area into the water; a slicing one, where you try to slice obects at different angles faster than your opponent; and a horde type mode (personal favorite), where you run down and try to defeat a horde of opposing miis. The combat itself is accurate, as is the whole control scheme, so if you are terrible at one game, you can't blame the controls. However the best way to experience this is with a friend, parent, sibling, spouse, whoever. It is just more fun to play with a partner (though you need to buy another Wii Motion Plus Attatchment.
First Impression Score: 8.5
In my other games, I started to play Super Mario RPG again and I have to say it is very fun and I'm at the 4th star, which is about half the game. The combat is pretty fun and I love the RPG elements, but the weird thing is that I generally shy away from turn based RPGs (except Pokemon), so it's a great game on VC
First Impression Score: 9.0
And the last game I'm on is Super Punch-Out!! and I made it to Rick Bruiser. He's hard, not Mike Tyson hard but hard. He's just so unpredictable. But I'll eventually beat this game when I feel like sitting down and having the patience.
Finally I redecorated my profile a bit, but my blog image is having difficulties so I altered it, the changes should happen soon.... As you see I have Mario and Link on top with a black background as my banner and I also put Ryu from Street Fighter and Jill Valentine from Resident Evil (Marvel Vs Capcom 2 look) as my blog image. The images actually took longer as it should of simply because I didn't feel like downloading the Photoshop Trial Edition and having to install it, so I used Microsot Paint and had to color over the non-black areas (trust me there were alot!), but in the end it was all worth it.
So.... have a great day/night!

Recently one of my favorite games of all time came out, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and was extremely dissppointed hearing that it was not coming to the Wii. However I do not blame Capcom for this for they can't do anything due to Nintendo's file-size restrictions. Here is the article. I really wanted Street Fighter 4 and this, but then again Capcom would have to go through alot of trouble making those, so there's no point. Looks like Jill Valetine, Akuma, Spiderman, Ryu, and Sakura won't be in my near future, since I own pure Nintendo consoles.
But this is going to be a part of Ehsan Rants!. Yeah! You will get a rant about this! This is ridiculous! Next Blog Ehsan Rants! Part 2: Wii-Ware.
Looks like Wii owners are left in the dust again.... We're not going to be taken for a ride.
UPDATE!: And no I'm not buying Tatsunoko Vs Capcom. And I'm not saying that I lost all hope in Nintendo and they don't care. It's just that they make really stupid mistakes.

Recently I've been going through some Guitar Hero 5 news and I noticed the cover of the game. It was just an amplifier with Guitar Hero 5 printed on it with a list of songs that there is going to be, which in my opinion is a lack of creativity. I don't think Activision cares anymore. All they're doing is putting a random picture with a list of songs and saying, "buy our crap and don't complain" If you're still not convinced look.

Looks okay, not incredible, but it gets the job done.

I actually thought this one is pretty good. It capture's Aerosmith very nice and looks like an appealing cover to look at.
I've seen this somewhere before, but I just can't put my finger on it. Oh wait:

You can't move the people around and change the color from blue to red and call it your own cover

All you guys did was type the guest bands and put the logo on top. Not very creative

The cover just sucks, the end.

My point is that Activision is too busy rushing out the games that they don't even put any effort of making a cover for a Guitar Hero game. Look I just made this in 5 minutes:

I came back from Phoenix yesterday very tired and I was going to read some of your guy's blogs and comment. I went to the Off Topic Discussion for some reason and found this offending topic. Personally as a Muslim I was offended and decided to ask why he feels like that and it shouldn't be like that. So it kind of turned into a huge back and forth discussion of whether the Religion of Islam is a Religion of hate and violence. I feel that I shouldn't comment any further on that board, but if I feel that Ineed to speak I will. Check out the board and try to read the posts, though it is very long I encourage you to try. I'm usually a person who tries to keep his cool, but I felt that I needed to bring a bit of justice along with a few other users.
My final words in the topic were:

Well I hope you saw that Islam is not a bad Religion just like many other Religions. It's a way for people to find hope and live a happy life. It should never be forced upon someone who doesn't like it, yet it can't be bashed by people who don't like it. Peace.I'm kinda in a ticked off mood so my next 3 reviews are going to be coming in late. But the next review is going to be Punch-Out!! on the NES. So later.
UPDATE!: Some of my posts did say some stupid things and I was corrected about Mohammad's marriage, but it was because I was very tired and sort of forgot alot of verses I could have stated.

Here is my review for Mario Kart Wii. Enjoy!
