bacchus, your point certainly rings in with me. It's a coincidence both of my new games are for newer systems. I still have Persona 3 FES to play, and I don't consider that any worse than a new game on the 360.
Funnily enough, 2008 in gaming for me started with a Playstation 2 game, and it looks more than certain that it will also end in one. In early January, I closed the lid on Final Fantasy XII's fantastic story, and now, mid-December, I just finished yet another incredible and immersive game,Yakuza 2. I had been waiting for this ever since I completed the original last year, and the wait was certainly worth it. Interesting stories such as this come rarely these days, in any type of media, really. I thoroughly enjoyed it from top to bottom, and it ranks amongst the best games played this year, for sure. Just so this statement does not go infounded, I had just received Banjo Kazooie: Nuts n' Bolts and Fallout 3, two gigantic games, just when I decided to close out Yakuza 2.
Bring on Ryu Ga Gotoku 3, Sega!
You make me  I have no idea now how I can play this game, I loved the first one, I even remember your entry saying how your thumb had gone completely numb (after completing the first one :P ) and now you (along with lik and others) say this.. Just hope I will get it some day... I hope Yakuza 3 retains the awesomness!
A new generation doesn't make older games suddenly no fun to play. Fancier graphics are nice, but solid gameplay wins out every time.
As Lucas mentioned.....I have FFXII almost sealed...played it for 3 hours...didn't like the gambit system very much. :(
Man I am glad I am not he only one still playing a PS2 game around here. Looks like you got a good thing to look forward to though with Fallout and BK on deck for next. Maybe you will start 09 with a bang on one of those two.
