KB's dad posted a link to Kristen Bell's twitter account on his web page a few days ago... and on hearing the news the fans went crazy! If you don't believe me then check out the website for yourself ...

Kristen's follow count has jumped from about 1000 people to almost 5000 within the past 10 hours... I like how this is trending.

KB's most recent tweet at the time of this blog post...

"holy smokes. went on a thing called the alpine slide today(its a summer luge)- was SO fun. try it. its totally worth breaking your legs."

Now thats' the KB we all know and wuv... the internet is awash with *squee*

I've been away from TV.com for 24 hours... this blog is in response to the Gone Dark user community initiative to send a message to TV.com about the problems and issues that we the users are having with the site since the new layout was introduced.

    1. The look - Replace the white background with a more soothing colour so I don't have to wear my sunnies when reading this site and make the font a little bigger and darker so it's easier to read.

    2. TV show scores - Restore the ability to rate shows in tenths of a point (such as 9.9 etc.)

    3. Localised content - Give users a choice between US and localised content, don't force everyone into localised content.

    4. Formatting - Make the emoticons work in comments again and allow the B and I html tags to be used (the site can always programmatically replace them with strong and em tags on save if you want to use strict XHTML rules).

    5. Fix the bugs - The standard functionality of the site has been compromised for a new look. That's not cool! The top annoyance for me right now is that the text field used for 'Quick' forum posts doesn't have scrollbars enabled which makes it very difficult to use for long posts as you have to use the arrow keys to scroll down to see what your typing.

And finally, please consult with the user community before making these kind of changes in future; and better yet ask them to opt into beta testing the changes before they are released to the general public.

    Thanks for your consideration.

Catchy title... sounds like a cool name for a TV Show? Maybe a rouge black ops spy show with espionage and intrigue... yes, that would be good.

But this blog is not about TV, but rather about TV.com. Since the change of the site many bugs have been introduced which have made using the site difficult if not impossible for some features. If you're not 100% pleased with something that has changed on this site since the revamp then join us and Go Dark on September 30 then return on October 1 and blog about what you want changed to make this site better.

I'm not advocating a return to the previous TV.com layout, there are actually some things about the new layout that I like, but what I am mostly annoyed about is that the community was not consulted about the changes that were coming and there was no open (opt in) beta test conducted with the user community before these changes were introduced. Had such testing and consultation occurred then many of the issues could have been mitigated prior to the public release of this new TV.com.

When it was announced that a new look was coming I was somewhat enthusiastic about it, but I wasn't expecting that a new look would also mean fundamental changes in the features of the site as well, and much less that existing features would become broken or removed all together. I'm sure TV.com staff are working hard to fix the issues for us, but it is regrettable that they didn't take more care and consideration in releasing these changes in the first place.

So that's my final word for now... I'll be back on October 1.

    'nuff said

Not that I expected it to be better than the UK version, but I just didn't think it would be _that_ bad. I'll not be watching another AU episode. I predict the AU version will be cancelled by the end of the first season. Can't wait for the new UK episodes.

But more importantly... Go Dark people... if you have issues with this new TV.com site make your voice heard on September 30.

    This is a re-post of Glenn11523's blog...

We've all heard from many of our friends complaints and grumblings.

Some of our friends have already left.

Many feel disenfranchised and even more are considering whether to stay or not.

Then it occurred to me that to simply leave the site is the playground equivalent to taking your ball and going home.

If you don't like the way the game is being played, then make your opinion known.

A site like tv.com is dependent upon users.

That user base and support is what makes the site possible. From the user base comes the data that is fed to advertisers ("we can help you reach XX of people by buying ad space on our site...").

CBS has rolled out a new version of tv.com that it seems not many of us are fond of. Blinding white background, small grey text, difficulty posting blogs and comments, the list goes on (and on, and on).

Meanwhile we bleed out users. Some of them have been around (like me) since before this site was even tv.com.

Should we complain about it? Hundreds have, it hasn't really made an impact.

Should we leave? Maybe, but I think we should at least let our voices be heard first.

    So, I suggest:

    September 30 - TV.com Blackout Day!!

For 24 hours, don't log into the site, don't contribute, don't edit, don't post, don't show up at all.

Let those that run the site see just how many of us are not happy with the way things are going and more importantly show those at CBS just how many of us are feeling this way.

The reason? It makes perfect sense that if they see a potential to lose a vast number of users (thus spoiling their ad rates, since who wants to pay a lot of money to reach a small number of people) that they may take our dissatisfaction more seriously and actually do something about it in a more timely fashion.

Of course if general apathy ensues and/or if people don't see the value of a blackout day, then CBS and tv.com can merrily continue on their present course safe in the knowledge that eventually we'll all just resign ourselves to the futility of having an opinion.

So.... if you agree to participate in a 24 boycott of logging into tv.com on September 30, 2008

I urge you to repost this blog and invite all your friends to do the same.

I am not some rebel out to cause trouble for trouble's sake. I am a user who feels let down by the way things have gone around here recently and if all the hype about "we listen to you" is true, then by our collectively going silent for 24 hours and showing them in real terms just how many people are dissatisfied I hope that tv.com will find a way to really solicit our feedback about what we want to see improved.

The first step is to agree to participate. If that is well received, then I suggest on Wednesday October 1, 2008 when we return, we post a blog with our top 5 things (more if we have them, less if that's the case) of things we want to see changed.

My feeling is that this might get their attention and actually get something done.

Are you on board with the idea? If so, please repost this and tell your friends.

This is how I've decided to deal with my frustration as opposed to just "taking my ball and going home."

    September 30, 2008 - I won't be here for 24 hours! Repost if you won't be either.

    iPhone 2.0 3G

Apple will release the iPhone 3G (2.0) in 22 countries on July 11 and further release to an additional 48 countries throughout the year. IMO this is probably the coolest gizmo that one can buy in 2008. All I can say is that I want one now... now... now!!!

Sorry no TV related news as we are quite literally in the dead zone at the moment

Oh wait... news flash is that Francis Capra who played Weevil on Veronica Mars is going to be on Heroes for a short arc... he will share at least one scene with Kristen Bell. So that's good on two fronts because it also confirms that KB was able to work out her schedule to return to finish her Heroes arc after she finished shooting her latest movie When in Rome.

Woohoo... I just got my first editorship of a person: Emily Rose.

Emily Rose I first stumbled across Emily in season 2 of Jericho and I liked what I saw so I went to the internet to see what I could find... fifty million Google pages on The Exorcism of Emily Rose later I found little by little enough information to add to TV.com to get control over her page

Ironically Emily dropped her last name "Maier" because people always had problems pronouncing it correctly (don't ask me, I've forgotten the correct pronunciation - will have to go back to the pod casts)... and not long after she changed her name, the movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose came out. Emily jokes that one of her goals is to become more popular in web searches than that movie because that would be a good indicator that her career is going successfully

Emily seems to be a very caring, friendly, and down-to-earth person with good values... something I admire in a celebrity as all too often you see celebs who have completely lost their way - drunk on money and their perceived power and status. You only have to listen to a few audio interviews with Emily to realise that she is definitely not prone to become one of these superficial people.

In addition to Jericho her recent work includes a character arc on Brother and Sisters, an episode of Cold Case, an episode of Without a Trace, and voicing an animated character in a video game called Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. I think she has much potential so watch this space

Well the blog title says it all really... so not much more to say...

I made a new banner to capture some of her recent work. From left to right we have Kristen on:

    • Veronica Mars as Veronica Mars
    • Heroes as Elle Bishop
    • Forgetting Sarah Marshall as Sarah Marshall
    • Fanboys as Zoe
    • When in Rome as Beth Harper
    • The voice of Gossip Girl
and the image below is pretty amazing artistically speaking

    Veronica & Keith Mars

So this will likely be my last blog post for the year and I thought I'd wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season and all the best for the new year!

I finished watching the season 3 Veronica Mars DVDs today and now I'm feeling all nostalgic and sad that this show is over If I could live inside a TV show I'd pick this show above all the others out there 'cause it feels like home to me.

Be good and don't eat too many snickerdoodles

Kristen Bell was awesome in Cautionary Tales and this episode of Heroes is probably the best episode to air this season. I loved every second of it

Lots of twists and turns, plenty of action, great acting/writing that made you want to laugh and cry all in the one episode! Bravo Heroes you have outdone yourselves with this one. I can't wait for the next two episodes I have a feeling they're going to be spectacular!

    As Hiro would say... Yatta!!!

Hmmm... what is it with the Emmy Awards not rewarding my shows as they rightfully deserve! House and Heroes were both robbed this year Quite frankly I don't get what all the fuss is about with the Sopranos and IMO they only won this year because their show was ending. bah!

On the bright side I'd like to congratulate Katherine Heigl and James Spader for their well deserved wins... and I did enjoy the intro with Stewie and Brian (from Family Guy) this year

The other major highlight for me was how beautiful Kristen Bell looked in that blue dress. Just awesome!

Well I kinda stole this idea from asutho , but as usual I've put my own spin in things

My level of anticipation for the following TV shows which will be resuming or premiaring in the next little while are as follows...

    9.9 Heroes
I can't wait for this show to resume. After seeing some of the season 2 promos recently I'm all keyed up for more and I really want to see Kristen Bell playing Elle, a new recurring character who has real power - electricity that is

    9.8 Battlestar Galactica (2004)
An excellent SciFi drama. I can't wait for this show to kick off again so that we can see what has become of Starbuck played by Katee Sackhoff . It's the shows final season and we will at long last get to know just who is the final cylon. Lucy Lawless will be back this season too. I think this show will go out with a bang!

    9.7 Stargate Atlantis
After the season 4 cliff-hanger I have to see how the Atlantis crew will save their city and themselves from impending doom

    9.3 Bionic Woman
I saw the original pre-air pilot of this show and I thought it was brilliant despite a few technical flaws. I think this show has great potential to tell some good action stories and Katee Sackhoff has a recurring role as the bad-ass original bionic woman so I was sold on this show from that point

    9.2 Top Gear
This show is all about cars... the faster and more expensive the better! But it has 3 of the most hilarious hosts you'll see on a TV talk show (Jeremy Clarkson , Richard Hammond , James May ). I just love that British dry wit! This show is priceless and very entertaining.

    9.2 House
Love this show, and I would have rated it higher except that there are major cast changes coming this next season so I'm not sure how things will turn out. But no matter what, House (played brilliantly by Hugh Laurie ) is a legend and will continue to be one of my favourite characters on TV.

    9.1 Journeyman
Saw the pre-air pilot for this show a few days ago and was fairly impressed by it, some great acting and a promising story. It's kind of like Quantum Leap with a twist. Definitely worth a try

    9.0 Smallville
I like this show and I don't care that it deviates from the Superman comic-law from time to time. Next season features Supergirl played by Laura Vandervoort so I'm very interested to see how this character goes. Rumor has it that if Supergirl is successful and popular with viewers a spin-off show may be created.

    9.0 Doctor Who (2005)
I have watched the original Doctor Who, but I find that I enjoy this new remake so much more, especially since David Tennant became The Doctor. The only worrying thing is that Catherine Tate has been cast as the doctor's companion for the next series and I'm not sure I'll like that as she really annoyed me in The Runaway Bride episode... but Freema Agyeman may yet return (full-time hopefully) as Martha Jones which would be most excellent!

    9.0 NCIS
I love this show, I'm watching season 3 again at the moment on DVD and it just has the right balance of action and comedy. Truly brilliant writing. Season 5 should be very interesting after the cliff-hanger reveal. Only thing that I miss seeing on this show is Sasha Alexander who played Kate Todd in season 1 & 2... but Cote de Pablo is very entertaining as Ziva and also has good chemistry with Michael Weatherly who plays DiNozzo

    8.7 The Sarah Connor Chronicles
As I'm a bit of a Terminator fan I am anticipating this show could be good. When I first saw the promos I wasn't very impressed, but after I saw the pre-air pilot I changed my mind. I think this show will be a good'un. And Summer Glau from Firefly/Serenity is in it YaY!

    8.5 Life
This show is different... It's a cop show... and a bit like House, but not The lead character is quite intreging and after checking out the pre-air pilot I'm definitely up for more.

    8.5 Supernatural
I've finally been able to catch up with this show after watching 1 and a half seasons over the past few weeks... and I must say that I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure why I stopped watching regularly except that perhaps I was overloaded with other shows, but this is definitely back on my roster when it resumes.

    8.5 Grey's Anatomy
I've seen the first 3 seasons of this show and for the most part I think it's a good drama. Some characters can become a bit grating at times, but I take the good with the bad and get an overall enjoyable viewing experience. I'm very interested in what they're going to do with the George character now they've screwed up his career somewhat.

    8.5 Private Practice
After seeing the special episode of Grey's Anatomy which was basically a kick-off for this spin off I think that PP could have some potential to be a good drama with a slightly more comedic edge than Grey's. I really like Kate Walsh so I'm going to tune into this and see how it goes.

    8.0 The Big Bang Theory
This show looks like it will be hysterically funny. Basically a fun show for geeks and those who like hot girls I've always liked Kaley Cuoco and that's how I discovered this show. I had heard about it before then, but I wrote it off until I watched the pre-air pilot... but after peeling myself off the flaw from laughing so hard I think it's definitely worth a go

    8.0 Moonlight
I have do idea what this show will be like really, just that Jasor Dohring from Veronica Mars will be in it and that some people have said that it will be similar in some respects to Angel so I think it's worth a try.

8.0 How I Met Your Mother
I love this show, it's so funny... hope it continues to get renewed for a few more years after next season. Cobie Smulders is a great actress and really should get more movie work. I'm also a fan of Allison Hannigan from Buffy, American Pie, and Veronica Mars and she's great on this show too! And who would have guessed that Neil Patrick Harris (from Doogie Howser M.D.) would be so good at comedy

    7.9 Pushing Daisies
Yet another new show. I saw the pre-air and I think it has potential, there are a few plot-lines that I find annoying, but if you can get over that this could be a really entertaining show.

    7.3 Chuck
I wrote this off when viewing the promos, but after seeing the pre-air pilot it's back on my list. A comedy with a twist of Sci-Fi and action. Add to that a couple of pretty girls (Sarah Lancaster , & Yvonne Strzechowski ) as regulars and guest appearances of even prettier girls like Rachel Bilson (from the OC) and this show should be good. I wouldn't say it was really a thinking man's TV show, but it's good for escapism and those coveted zone out moments that we all like to take every now and then.

    7.0 Torchwood
Not a bad spin-off from Doctor Who, but nowhere near as good as Doctor Who IMO. Season 1 was a mixed bag, with some really great character driven episodes and some that were verging on utter drivel, but overall I think this show is worth a watch so I'll tune in to the nest season and hope that it improves with more consistency. I loved the Captain Jack crossover that they recently did with Doctor Who and I'm hoping that they will incorporate some of that carry-over back into Torchwood.

    6.7 New Amsterdam
I don't really know anything about this show other than what the TV.com summary says... but the idea intrigued me so I will tune into the first episode and see if it's worth the fuss.

    6.0 Samantha Who?
I know next to nothing about this show except that Christina Applegate is the star and I like her from Married with Children so I'll give it a go.

    5.0 Gossip Girl
I don't know much about this show and my only reason for checking it out is that Kristen Bell (who played Veronica Mars on none other than Veronica Mars - go figure! ) is going to do the show's gossip girl voice overs From the promos it has some good eye-candy for the fellas, but if the story doesn't do that justice then I won't be a regular on this one.

According to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ... Some time ago a group of hyper-intelligent pan dimensional beings decided to finally answer the great question of Life, The Universe and Everything.

To this end they built an incredibly powerful computer, Deep Thought. After the great computer program had run (a very quick seven and a half million years) the answer was announced.

The Ultimate answer to Life, the Universe and Everything is...

(You're not going to like it...)

Which suggests that what you really need to know is 'What was the Question?'

    What is your ultimate question?
