  My First Blog (L4D2 and CoD:MW2)

  This is my first blog post which probably no one will read.

  Anyway, today I had an discussion/argument with someone over L4D2/MW2. He asked me what game I was playing and I replied truthfully L4D2, which I picked up on steam during the Thanksgiving sale. He then went on saying that L4D2 is not a true sequel and how the game is boring and repetitive because you only kill zombies and you cannot aim down the sights. He also stated that the only real difference from the first is the characters and story. His reasons why it is not a "real" sequel are:

  Released only a year later at full price

  only 1 new type of zombie (wrong)

  only 3 new weapons (wrong)

  melee weapons that nobody uses (wrong)

  Only one new mode (Scavenge)

  Better graphics

  I then countered by arguing that his favorite game, he has been known to say it is the greatest game ever made, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is not a real sequel. Since he said that killing zombies over and over is repetitive, I said that killing terrorists/Russians over and over is boring. I then asked him what the differences are between MW and MW2. His differences are:

  New weapons

  New perks

  Better graphics

  New characters and story

  A new mode (Spec-Ops)

  However he still could not see how the greatest game ever made was not a real sequel. He shot back some numbers on the sales and people playing. Now I am not arguing that L4D2 deserves to have been DLC because I have not played L4D and I really enjoy the sequel. I just find it funny and a little frightening how people will buy the Call of Duty games year after year even though they are the same. I stopped buying them after CoD4 (I was gifted CoD5) and I sure as hell will not buy anymore after Activision raised the price for less content on the PC. I am hopeful that Valve does not decide to release a L4D game every year.The person I was conflicting with does believe that PS3 has better graphics than the PC because "computer monitors are not as good as TV monitors", so he should not be taken very seriously.If you read all of this, I applaud you, I just wrote this because I am bored and want to write something.

  Edit: I was also sick of seeing the thing that says I don't have opinions, which I most certainly do!
