oh oh oh, dunno but you (whoever you are), but if you are anyone important you would have seen the 'surpreme commander' trailer by now and oh **** it definetly looks like the best RTS ever thought of. im a huge fan of warhammer 40,000 and was over the moon when dawn of war got rts of the year, and now that dark crusade is on the horzion im getting excited. to add to the fun c&c3 the tiberium wars is heating up, and anyone who knows anything about rts' is that whenever westwood say theyre gonna deliver, surprisingly theyre gonna delivery. so it looks like a good year ahead for rts mainics like myself espically considering i sold my xbox360 and now my best gaming system is a pc, and i dont care what anyone says rts are the best genre on pc's even better than mmorpg's which i also love.
RTS forever, I AM THE SURPREME COMMANDER !!!
4May 06well its simple actually, there are many ways to look at it, but they all are really the same. everyone loves killing nazis.
WWII games have some of the best storylines around, they give you a range of guns, and vehicles, and you get to fight in the most gruesome war ever, and can sit back and wonder why the hell you're not dead yet, its class.
if you havent already, u need to play
medal of honour allied assault
medal of honour european assault
hidden and dangerous
call of duty
commandos strike force
25Mar 06i cant believe it, i actually cant believe it. at first i thoght it was a dream, like seriously the time has finally come, i finally have oblivion. you're probably wondering why im even bothering to do this and why im not playing it right now, well its because i didnt go to bed last night because i played all though the night and im considering this to be my break. for those of you who have not yet purchased the game yet, you have no idea what you're missing out on, you're either very unfortunate not to own a copy, or you're unbelievable dumb not to go out and buy it. if you played morrowind you should know the potetial of the storyline and the thoughts behind it, unfortunately they weren't shown well in morrowind with its awful loading times, and its "what-the-hell-do-i-do" layout.
also the absolute worst thing in morrowind was whenever you attacked the enemy, you only hit them 1 in 10 attacks, very badly designed, in fact everything that was wrong with morrowind, oblivion has fixed, and more, much more.
an example of this would be my friend stephen, he doesn't even really like adventure games, but he bought oblivion coz there aren't many xbox360 games out yet and he wanted something new, and since he bought it he's mainly just played in the arena, and he isnt far off being the highest rank in it. so this proves there is something for everyone in this game.
i myself love the magic side of it, ive already learnt a good number of spells, and ive joined the mages guild and im now the third rank, the magic system has been greatly improved since morrowind, not only more spells, or what they do, but even the look of them when cast has become amazing, and the enchanted weapons add to the fun.
the game may be more "dead-set" in terms of the storyline, as it has been designed to attract gamers who aren't into spending hours on end wandering about the world trying to find out whats going on, in ways this is bad as the game is slightly less "open" but considering how open it is compared to other games, its hard to notice that much a difference.
so far i havent played a lot of oblivion, considering how much im going to play it in total. so for those of you that do have it, i hope you can have at least half as much fun playing this game as me, and if you do then this will be your number 1 game for a long long time.
