Graphics, are they REALLY that important???

looking at reviews and Previews and all that today, and i realize... Graphics has taken the top place, INSTEAD of gameplay!!

Example: Go and look at some of the comments in the STALKER previews, everyones like "its sounds good, but it going to look like a pre-half life game"... now honestly, please Comment on this if you prefer to walk around a game world and look at a tree and count every strip of bark, and EVERY SINGLE blade of grass sitting on the ground. Me personally, i find pretty looking graphics and EXTRA to a game, i'm not going to rate a game poorly 'cause ONE character has a bad hair cut! I'd prefer to play a game that engages me into the gameplay, i.e i still play Kings Quest 5!!!

yes you heard right, KQ5, probably the oldest game known to man (well not really), in that game there is less pixels in the whole game then in one tiny itty bitty PIECE of half of a sixth of a millionth of a goblins nose found in oblivion! but it has one of the best storyline and best puzzles i can think of!

Im not saying graphics aren't good! by all means i love the good looking games, but too many people get draw in by the pretty colours.... instead of a Story thats original!

I mean, you still watch the original "Alien" movies dont you? your not going to stop watching them 'cause.. ohh o don't know....  Lord of the rings looks better.. why should games be ANY different??!?!

Well anyway, i've ranted too much already, thx for reading, and as always leave any feedback for me!

    Ye Old' gaming

Remember the days when the family used to sit around the computer, trying to guide the hapless hero thru a maze, while being chased by a beast, or trying to find objects to find your way thru a gate guard with a sensitivity to smell? These were the days when games were made for the whole family, without all the hacking and slashing or the shooting and explosions involved in today's games. I still remember playing King's quest 6 and 7 non-stop, trying to help Rosella and Alexander find true love and rescue some helpless princess or stop a Volcano from being force to errupt. Well, with those days over and all thats left is Myst, which isn't the same, all it is, is a game were you explore. Well, i guess the only thing to do is buy an Older computer and play all these games again... Lets hope Kings quest 9 or something like that comes out sooner or later... thx for reading and if you have any feedback, please feel free to send me a PM

    Co-op gaming....

Remember the days, when you could team up with someone and shoot the shat out of Terrorists in a Campaign of Delta Force, or play an RTS campaign with someone? well, not anymore i see. Its all based on Player Vs Player, which is fun, but Imagine, Playing Company of heroes With your best mate, trying to retake carentan, or defend a hilltop? well, it seems like Co-op style play is ending, which is Terrible! I mean, Soldiers: heroes of world war 2, REALLY captured Co-op, and ran with it, but, the game wasn't a top seller, not because of the Co-op option, it was because the game didn't have the best Gameplay. But as i said, Company of heroes: the campaign was terrific, but it would be SOO much better with maybe a Co-op separate campaign. Well, i hope you all enjoy my rant, and i say, if you agree with me, lets march to Relic and tell them to add it in with there next Company of heroes installment!
