Milk Carton - Missing:......Responsibility

This ones going to be a short one, only cause....if i don't keep it short its going to be long....very long.

I don't know how or why any of this becomes any more for someone like me to understand. It seems fairly simple a concept, but apparently, some people seem to think that there's more to it. Basically what i'm talking about is Game Ratings and the Gamers that love them. I can go online, walk around in a store, even read a magazine...and in Doing so can find out exactly what a game is about. Doesn't take very long, takes maybe a few minutes to understand exactly what the games about and second or two to find out what its rated. So where in any of this do people IE: YOU PARENTS, fail to understand what exactly it is you're buying your child? If your Child is not a teen, then perhaps you should think twice before buying them games like Halo or Mortal Kombat. If your is not 18 years of age, maybe he shouldn't play games like Manhunt, Gears of War, God of War.....matter of fact, if it has War in the title, about War in any way or if you take a few letters from its name and can spell war....don't buy it. Its simple right? So why is it that they just Blame everyone when their kids are doing something they feel their kids should not be after they've played this game they shouldn't have? "Its the Creators of the game, the Company who released it, The Manufacturer of the System its played on AND the Guy who sold it to Me's fault Because".....this games TOOOO TOOOO VIOLENT.

I know somehow its become Standard practice in this country to blame everyone in the nearest vacinity when something goes wrong, but When its on such a large scale or is something that effects me, i have to say something. Sometimes the guy behind the counter does sell a game He's not supposed to, true. Shame on him. But where is this Kid Playing this game? Home, where do you live, home. so this kids playing this game right around you and you don't say anything until something bad happens?? Shame on YOU.

This Industry is about more then just making a child's toy anymore. it might have started that way, but us gamers have grown up and want to play material that we want to play on our intellectual level. Its an art Form, like movies and music. Where someone can express pretty much anything and everything they want to. They can have ratings, thats fine, of which they already do. BUT, how dare you try to take that choice away from anyone. Who are you to say what i can or can't play, listen to or watch? Take care of your own, let them play the Powerpuff Girls game till their blue in the face and let me play my GTA:San Andreas and get me some hot coffee.

This Country, i think anyway, still belongs to The People. With the Laws it was built on to protect us, though it seems Lately its only been about taking those laws away or changing them so its what they want them to say. Well, Freedom of Speech says i can Say what i want, and unfortunately so can you. But something it doesn't say, is that you can tell me what to say or do. So keep your finger pointing and Blaming in your own home, take some responsibility for your OWN actions and let the rest of us play some games in peace. So much for being short, but trust me, this could have been alot longer.

If Wanting Freedom is anarchistic......Then give me Anarchy.

Milk carton - Missing:....The Last Word

I've been coming to Gamespot for years although i only really started getting more involved with things like Unions, Tags and Emblems lately. There were many things that always made me look forward to coming here, On the Spot, Jeff gertzman (He's a sillybuggar) and the Last Word. Every week I'd hop on to Gamespot hoping to catch The Last Word with tor thorsen and Tim Surette. They had a good flow, they worked well together and the show was genuinely funny. After long the shows started getting long, fueling my hopes that perhaps they might just give them their own stable, much like On th Spot is for Thursdays. Then not only was it cut back down to its briefer beginnings, but it wasn't as frequent anymore. Slowly but surely there just wasn't a last word anymore. Personally i miss it. It was good enough that i would look forward to it, and i felt informed after having watched it, especially since sometimes you can only swallow news when its given to you in a silly way. I don't know if one or more of either talents have gone their separate ways from Gamespot, maybe I'm the only one who found them funny, maybe they just didn't want to do the recap anymore. The point is this, there's a void in my Gamespot....and i didn't realize it until now.
