You've got to be kidding me? SEXBOX???
Recently I stumbled across a video from FOX News about the Award Winning game Mass Effect. At the end, I was left with a feeling of disappointment and disgust from the amount of bias opinion and video game slander FOX News was allowed to air.
The news segment was headlined:
"SE"XBOX? - New Video Game Shows Full Digital Nudity and Sex
When will we as adult gamers stand up and say enough is enough. From all the misrepresentation of Jack Thomson, and now Ms. Conner Lawrence and many others about "M" Rated games.
Note: Ironically, if found this review of Mass Effect on guess where??? Thats right FOXNEWS.COM!!
So today I did some Goggle searching, and I found a site called WhatTheyPlay.com.
WhatTheyPlay.com is a review site for video games. But not the type of review site that we are used to. They don't give the game a score out of 5 or 10 or 100. No, they review games based on their content and explain why a game receives the rating it received. This is to help uninformed parents about the video games their kids are playing or want the parent to go out and purchase. It even has a Video Game Glossary. This to me is a brilliant site. At the end of each review it gives an age rating that parents can enter to show if its appropriate for their child. An example I'll use is from the game "BioShock":
"Parents agree. BioShock is OK for kids over the age of: 15"
To the right of that, is a place where the parent can place what age (1-17) they think is right, then it averages it out. Brilliant site indeed. I suggest checking out their reviews for games like CoD4, and Mass Effect (WTP does a better job than the FOX News panel did). Problem is, I honestly don't think many parents know of sites like this. They only know what they see from the people that never even touched the game.
So thats where we can step in. Spread the word. Put it in your sig, your myspace, wherever you think parents will see it.
This may not solve the problem we have with the misunderstanding of video games, but it would sure help. Knowledge is power. An no matter how many "studies" these asshats look at, the one big fact still remains. Violence and sex have been around long before video games ever existed. They can point the finger and blame video games all they want, but if parents can't teach their children the difference between "fantasy" and "reality", then they shouldn't be a parent in the first place.
Consoles in this day and age all have some kind of a parental or password protected setting. All that needs to be done, is for these parents do a little research or read the instruction manual that came with the console. You know? Be involved with their children, take interest. They necessarily don't have to be around their kids 24/7, like the FOX News "reporter" above pointed out. "It's so hard to be a parent." Well I have some advise for ya,"Don't eat yellow snow." and "Don't be fool, wrap your tool." (Some may know the movie the second line's from
) Please if I missed anything, or said something wrong/incorrect. Let me know. I would love to hear some feedback. I seen that video early this morning and I have been shaking my head ever sence. And seeing as how the same few people defend video games over and over on television and so many more attack them over and over on television. We need people to hear the gamer side of things, not the blind hate from people that don't even play these games.
Note: Here is link to Gamespot user MrCHUP0N. His blog about this subject is miles better than mine. I highly suggest to take a look. MrCHUP0N makes some very interesting points that I failed to mention myself.

I'm back!
I've been off Gamespot for a few days. I went to visit "my brother from another mother", out in Warren, OH and try out Rock Band on the 360. The game friggin rocks! I love the drums. They're harder than the guitar, but once you get the hang of it, you can rock out with your c*** out, just like me lol. Played the drums for 2 days on Easy and now I can play them on Medium. I don't see how anyone could play those on Expert. Anyway, I had a blast out there.
So I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I know I sure did. Now that I have my 360 and my HDTV back, I can finish up Mass Effect and BioShock, then get started on Assassin's Creed, CoD4, The Darkness, DiRT, GH3, MX vs ATV Untamed, and Overlord. Wew, I don't know where to start.

Deuceswld is coming back to LIVE!
After almost a 7 week absence from Xbox LIVE, Deuceswld will making a return on December 27th.
On Nov. 10th he was diagnosed with the unfortunate Red Ring of Death Virus. It looked like he would be returning 3 weeks later after an extensive medical treatment and rehab. Only to fall again this time to Disk Drive Error Syndrome. These problems even spread to his own HDTV, temporary hospitalizing his High Def viewing pleasure. Yes, a very dangerous and frustrating turn of events.
But being the heart strong gamer and competitor he is, he kept his chin up and didn't sway. With the help and support of his friends and family, Deuceswld will be returning to Xbox LIVE glory. Both his High Def viewing and his full 360 range of motion will be returning shortly after Christmas on December 27th.
At this time Deuceswld would like to thank all of those who supported him during this tough time, and wish you all to have a Merry Christmas!
