Well a Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars demo was just released on the Xbox Live Marketplace and I just played it not too long ago. I have to say I was very impressed, I already knew the Game would be good after the PC version getting a 9.0 but I wasn't too sure about the controls. Thankfully they work very well, maybe not as good as the PC, but it works well enough for the fun to translate. What I really liked where the HD briefing videos with Micheal Ironside it adds a lot to the game, and I know they aren't new for this installment, but they're still really cool. I am yet to try out the Multiplayer but I probably will tonight with some friends and use the Vision Camera. I've never played an RTS in multiplayer before so I look forward to it, it'll be very intense. I am more or less sold on this game, unless the 360 version gets god awful reviews, then i'll definitely pick it up.

I recently downloaded two more XBLA games, Jetpac: Refuelled and Worms. Both are great, Jetpac is a fun Arcade shooter that you can just jump in and out of any time for a quick fix. Worms is Worms, what you've come to expect from the series all in glorious HD with Xbox Live play for up to four players. The only downside is that lack of weapons, but, its easily overlooked for the weapons they have already make it fun enough plus there's always hope they'll release more Weapons over Xbox Live, hopefully for free. I highly recommend both, but I would say if you want Worms I'd suggest getting a few Friends to buy it too because its the Multiplayer that makes the XBLA Worms worth getting.

I also recently downloaded two Virtual Console games. One that i've been meaning to get round to for a while "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past" and the recently released "Lylat Wars". A Link to the Past is superb, I haven't played it in an age, I barely remember it, but if you've played any Zelda game you'll know what to expect. Dungeons, big world to explore, weapons to find, baddies to kill and people to save. The game aged very well, it still feels fresh today I'm totally into it and look forward to spending many more hours with it. This is definitely one of the best in the Zelda series - Ocarina of Time will always be the best - and I highly recommend this, its a true classic. Now onto Lylat Wars - or Starfox 64 - I used to have this game on the N64 back in the day, I think it was the third or fourth game I got for the system and it introduced me - and many - to rumble. Which sadly, is a downside in this in that it doesn't have any rumble. But its easily overlooked, just pretend your playing a PS3 game - just kidding - everything else is intact. The graphics are still nice, the voice acting is pretty good and the gameplay is still awesome. I spent many hours with this game when I was young and i'm about to spend many more with it, I really love this game and I can't wait to get the Independence Day style level, that was probably the best. I hope we see a new Starfox game on the Wii which goes back to this classic style - not that I didn't like the Gamecube games, I loved Starfox Adventures - but I wished the Arwing sections were longer and I never got round to playing Starfox Assault, will do one day.  So hopefully we'll see a fully Arwing Starfox on the Wii at some point, along with the SNES game on the Virtual Console.

Well thats all I can think of to say now...

I'll catch ya later ma brotha!!

Guitar Hero II came out on the Xbox 360 on Friday... OR DID IT!?

Well, yes it did however my order did not come.  Not because they ran out of stock, just because its taking a while because of stupid Parcel Force and crazy Easter.  It got dispatched on Wednesday so I assumed it would be here by now, but I thought wrong.  Well at least I know it'll be here on Monday, well..... IT BETTER BE!!

I ordered it from GAME so I also get a free Guitar Strap - along with the included one - so thats pretty cool, not to mention points for money off future purchases.

In the wait for Guitar Hero II i've decided to go back to an old friend... Viva Pinata.  I've not got too much left to do, just gotta get me a Roario and Master Romance a few Pinata species and also get the variants for some of them.  Plus I have four more achievements to get.  I might be able to get that done by Monday, but I don't wanna play it too much cause Romancing does become tedious after a while.

I just saw that Resident Evil 4 is coming to the Wii, which I guess it cool and should keep fans going until The Umbrella Chronicles and of course Resident Evil 5.  I did play through it before on the Gamecube though, but I haven't played it in ages and was thinking of revisiting it so I guess i'll probably get the Wii version to do that with, the new controls should spice things up.  Plus it'll give me something to play on my Wii, because i've more or less finished all of the - good - launch titles and there hasn't been that many realeases.  But, i'm not gonna complain because it was like this for the Xbox 360 too, the first year is always slow and we are getting close to Summer so the dreaded game drought is almost upon us.

Anyway, this is my first blog in ALMOST A YEAR, perhaps those reviews that were coming soon oh so long ago will finally happen, but who knows...

     See ya around playah!!!

If you watched the latest On the Spot then you'll know - if not go watch it now! - the cult favourite is back....

    BUTTON MASHING

I can't wait, dude the theme tune was sooooooooo AWESOME!  I have it on my PSP and listen to it non-stop and force everyone to listen to it.  I enjoy On The Spot, but one show a week isn't enough, hopefully they'll bring it back for good and we'll have two good shows to look forward to every week, then the Hotspots like a pitstop.  Though I must say they'll be pretty busy.

Well as long as the theme tune is there i'm happy

    OBLIVION IS NEIGH!

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, that is.

It hits UK shelves this Friday and I can't wait because its been sooooo long since Morrowind and I want more of their patented First Person RPG awesomeness.  It'll be great to have a game that you can play for hours on end and not finish for months.  I'm going to spend the whole Easter holidays playing this masterpiece, I should be revising but I have until May and without me who will close shut the jaws of Oblivion?!

If you haven't got a 360 by now and you can find one, Oblivion should be the reason cause you'll be sorely missing out, well you already are missing out on GRAW, PDZ and PGR3.  But Oblivion is the game you want buddy.  Its RPG heaven its like KotOR only in first person and has all the depth of a Final Fantasy game, plus character customisation has more depth than most RPGs.  Its the RPG which will go unchallenged until NeverWinter Nights 2 and Mass Effect, perhaps FFXII, but thats completely different and its on PS2.....

You'll have 200 hours plus ahead of you so its quite a commitment and its not an easy game if previous games are to go by.  Well i'll post a blog of my first impressions on Sunday if you haven't decided to get it or not, but you should!

Catch you next time true believers!

Its the month as a 360 gamer i've been looking forward too.

It all starts on the 10th with Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Fight Night Round 3.

Fight Night Round 3 recieved a mighty 8.3 from Gamespot and after experiencing the fantastic demo which I got from the Xbox Live Marketplace i'm defo gonna get this game.  The graphics are amazing and it'll  be the first boxing game i've bought since Ready 2 Rumble on the Dreamcast.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is yet to recieve a verdict from Gamespot but i'm sure it'll do well, at least 8.6 i reckon, hopefully something in the 9.0s though.  I loved the previous Ghost Recon games and played them a lot, i enjoyed them much more than the awesome Rainbow Six series.  But my favourite Clancy game is definately Splinter Cell.  All the new cool futuristic features are making the game look superb and maybe better than the previous games, well graphically it definately looks better the graphics look so badass.

Also out on the 10th is NHL 2K6 and NBA 2K6.  The games look pretty cool, but with so much coming out in March, I think they'll have to wait until either April or May.

The week after that, Burnout Revenge and The Outfit arrive over here.

Burnout Revenge recieved a 9.1 on PS2 and Xbox and I reckon it'll get the same mark on 360 or maybe a touch more...  The graphics while not maybe matching the high standard of games like Project Gotham Racing look pretty cool and in high-def will be a sight to behold.  I loved Burnout 3 and i've been wanting to get Burnout Revenge for ages, but held out for the 360 version and now its almost here!

The Outfit, now when I first saw this game at E3 i thought it looked pretty cool.  Then the videos I saw after E3 it didn't look that great, average described it best.  But now that we are only a fortnight away i'm starting to come round to it.  It sorta looks like the game Mercenaries should of been, the graphics look great the gameplay looks like explosive fun, but there's a bit of depth aswell.  But i'm not gonna to run out to pre-order just yet, i'll wait until the reviews cause it could go either way.  If it gets something below 8.0 then i'll skip it, but hopefully it'll get a decent mark, i'm expecting 8.5-8.7.  But we'll see.

24th of March THE ELDER SCROLLS IV: OBLIVION

This game has had everybody excited, and with good reason it looks awesome as hell.  The graphics look tremendous and with an extreeeeemely long lifespan it'll keep "players" - that one's for you Jeff - going for months.  360 needs an RPG, its one of the big things that was missing from launch.  It has to get at least a 9.0 it looks so good, i am prepared for a bad review but I highly doubt it'll get one.  I'm gonna pre-order it right after i've posted this!

Finally on the 31st of March Far Cry Instincts Predator arriveson 360, the recent video showing off the water was quite spectacular.

I loved Far Cry on PC all those years ago, then Far Cry Instincts on Xbox last year was a blast and one of the last great Xbox games.  Instincts Predator is Instincts and then some.  The graphics have been cranked up in power and look great, I had so much fun with this games single player and multiplayer its going to be absolutely superb playing it again with better graphics and a wireless controller.  I can't wait for this.

Well thats it for March, lots going on, The Godfather and Battlefield 2: Modern Combat are due out aswell, but I didn't really think they were worth a mention.  Blazing Angels looks cool as hell aswell but with so much coming out its going to have to wait.

Well I can't wait till Friday and kick start this awesome month, i'll review the games when I finish them so look out for my reviews in the coming weeks!

Preliminary examinations, start tomorrow am I worried.  To be honest not really I should be able to do okay and if I crap it up then I have the exams in May to save me!

Anyway I've talked enough about that.  Now some of you may have a My Space, as do I and i've recently jazzed it up with a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy background and a DMC3 soundtrack.  I've got a few funny videos including the video where Brad Shoemaker messes up his line in the Rogue Squadron III review "Star Wars movies....star wars movies...", Brad if you're reading this what was that all about was Greg Kasavin distracting you off camera or was it Ryan Davis?  Its alright Brad your still my favourite Gamespot Editor!

So check it out, and feel free to add me to your friends cause if you seem sane I'll accept.

Well thats all for now, i'll return with  more Game related blogs after the prelims, see you February 8th!

Dead or Alive 4 this coming Friday, 27th January.  For the UK guys anyway, you American and Japanese citizens and importers will have probably all finished it before I even get a glance at it.  I'm thinking of getting Ridge Racer6 which was released this previous Friday.  Its not a must buy, but it looks fun and i've got enough spare cash to get it.  But I also have prelims coming soon, next week to be precise Monday 30th kicks it off that goes on for a week and a half then I get my long weekend in which I will play DOA4 and probably RR6 to death along with trying to get every achivement in my other 360 games.  Then i'm free of the exam crap till May and to keep my mind of it till then are a load of great looking 360 games: Prey, Gears of War and The Elder Scrolls IV to name a few.  May also marks my last month as a Pupil of the secondary school, well I think I have one day in June, but it doesn't count i think its an exam.  My last normal school day is in early May and it'll be a mix of joy and sadness, but mostly joy.  Then I'm gonna take a year out to live life and actually go out once in a while.  Seriously though i'm gonna enjoy that gap year, I won't be lazing about getting wasted all the time, i'm planning on doing a course at college and looking at my options and University courses that will help my journey to my choosen career.

Its all good this year as we've already had 360 in late 05 and in mid 06 we're gonna see Revolution and apparently sometime this year we're gonna se PS3, maybe.  I plan on playing 360, PSP, DS, Revolution and perhaps PS3 a lot this year.

2006 and 2007 are gonna be great years for me and the transformation of boy to man will be complete and my life will truly begin.
