Downloading...
Well a Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars demo was just released on the Xbox Live Marketplace and I just played it not too long ago. I have to say I was very impressed, I already knew the Game would be good after the PC version getting a 9.0 but I wasn't too sure about the controls. Thankfully they work very well, maybe not as good as the PC, but it works well enough for the fun to translate. What I really liked where the HD briefing videos with Micheal Ironside it adds a lot to the game, and I know they aren't new for this installment, but they're still really cool. I am yet to try out the Multiplayer but I probably will tonight with some friends and use the Vision Camera. I've never played an RTS in multiplayer before so I look forward to it, it'll be very intense. I am more or less sold on this game, unless the 360 version gets god awful reviews, then i'll definitely pick it up.
I recently downloaded two more XBLA games, Jetpac: Refuelled and Worms. Both are great, Jetpac is a fun Arcade shooter that you can just jump in and out of any time for a quick fix. Worms is Worms, what you've come to expect from the series all in glorious HD with Xbox Live play for up to four players. The only downside is that lack of weapons, but, its easily overlooked for the weapons they have already make it fun enough plus there's always hope they'll release more Weapons over Xbox Live, hopefully for free. I highly recommend both, but I would say if you want Worms I'd suggest getting a few Friends to buy it too because its the Multiplayer that makes the XBLA Worms worth getting.
I also recently downloaded two Virtual Console games. One that i've been meaning to get round to for a while "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past" and the recently released "Lylat Wars". A Link to the Past is superb, I haven't played it in an age, I barely remember it, but if you've played any Zelda game you'll know what to expect. Dungeons, big world to explore, weapons to find, baddies to kill and people to save. The game aged very well, it still feels fresh today I'm totally into it and look forward to spending many more hours with it. This is definitely one of the best in the Zelda series - Ocarina of Time will always be the best - and I highly recommend this, its a true classic. Now onto Lylat Wars - or Starfox 64 - I used to have this game on the N64 back in the day, I think it was the third or fourth game I got for the system and it introduced me - and many - to rumble. Which sadly, is a downside in this in that it doesn't have any rumble. But its easily overlooked, just pretend your playing a PS3 game
- just kidding - everything else is intact. The graphics are still nice, the voice acting is pretty good and the gameplay is still awesome. I spent many hours with this game when I was young and i'm about to spend many more with it, I really love this game and I can't wait to get the Independence Day style level, that was probably the best. I hope we see a new Starfox game on the Wii which goes back to this classic style - not that I didn't like the Gamecube games, I loved Starfox Adventures - but I wished the Arwing sections were longer and I never got round to playing Starfox Assault, will do one day. So hopefully we'll see a fully Arwing Starfox on the Wii at some point, along with the SNES game on the Virtual Console. Well thats all I can think of to say now...
I'll catch ya later ma brotha!!

I want to be a Guitar Hero too...
Guitar Hero II came out on the Xbox 360 on Friday... OR DID IT!?
Well, yes it did however my order did not come. Not because they ran out of stock, just because its taking a while because of stupid Parcel Force and crazy Easter. It got dispatched on Wednesday so I assumed it would be here by now, but I thought wrong. Well at least I know it'll be here on Monday, well..... IT BETTER BE!!
I ordered it from GAME so I also get a free Guitar Strap - along with the included one - so thats pretty cool, not to mention points for money off future purchases.
In the wait for Guitar Hero II i've decided to go back to an old friend... Viva Pinata. I've not got too much left to do, just gotta get me a Roario and Master Romance a few Pinata species and also get the variants for some of them. Plus I have four more achievements to get. I might be able to get that done by Monday, but I don't wanna play it too much cause Romancing does become tedious after a while.
I just saw that Resident Evil 4 is coming to the Wii, which I guess it cool and should keep fans going until The Umbrella Chronicles and of course Resident Evil 5. I did play through it before on the Gamecube though, but I haven't played it in ages and was thinking of revisiting it so I guess i'll probably get the Wii version to do that with, the new controls should spice things up. Plus it'll give me something to play on my Wii, because i've more or less finished all of the - good - launch titles and there hasn't been that many realeases. But, i'm not gonna complain because it was like this for the Xbox 360 too, the first year is always slow and we are getting close to Summer so the dreaded game drought is almost upon us.
Anyway, this is my first blog in ALMOST A YEAR, perhaps those reviews that were coming soon oh so long ago will finally happen, but who knows...
See ya around playah!!!
