We all love tv right? But sometimes intro/theme/credits bit makes you want to scream at the tv to just get on with it, am I not right? They are often so boring. Even if you love those actors you don't need to see the same clip with their name on it every single episode.
But, some intros are nice.
I just want to comment on some... because well, I always think about it when I watch a show XD
Now, it doesn't matter if I love a show to damn pieces, the intro can still be boring.
Farscape for example, best show ever made, but the first two seasons were pretty dull when it came to te intro. Here however we had a nice voice over... which got better in the other two seasons, as well as the sty*le (tv.com, what to you want? that's a normal word!) of the intro itself. Obscure text floating by and such.
Firefly? Another hsow that I love to bits, yeah... not too much love on the intro there. Remember, I'm not talking about the music, but on everything combined. Because the song is really nice for Firefly, but overall the little clip is a bit boring.
Stargate is boring too, first one for SG1? Insanely boring >.< With the statue you know? Yuck. Atlantis is a bit better with everything being blue and the picture freezing. Still boring though, and not really that synced with the music.
Good ones then?
Gotta say, I love the CSI ones. Music is awsome and very fitting, and not actually written for the show. I like that all three shows have a song by the Who. The sty*le of the video is really nice too. Very graphic. I haven't watched much Miami or Vegas lately so I'll just comment on NY. The song kicks ass (and I prefer the version for s1 to 3 thankyouverymuch, more like the original) and I love how the actors' names like float by in big letter that you don't really notice and then they come to the readable version (especially like Eddie's in s4... red letters dissolving into blood behind the white XD)
Loved 4400's, so stylistic and beautiful (stuff aging). Seriously, I liked the intro better than the show XD
Same thing with House MD, well the show is good I just haven't watched much of it. But the intro is, just like 4400, very stylistic and graphical. Probably the most goodlookin intro I've seen.
And from a graphic point of view Criminal Minds is really nice too. With boxes and stuff.
I like Battlestar Galactica's too. The music is absolutely beautiful. Both American and European version. And the video is just of ships and with the basic story line in nice text, lingering on certain words. It's pretty. And then it moves into a very quick teaser of the episode. To me, that never shows too much, just makes it a bit more interesting. And it's so nicely matched to the music. On every beat the clip changes.
And finally the ones I like the most XD And that's Supernatural and current ER. Just the logo and it's done. Back to the story XD
Cause no matter how awsome an intro looks, to me it does start to get boring after a while XD I have watched lots of CSI NY lately, marathoning it really. It's still such a good intro that I don't skip it, but I'm not particulary enjoying it anymore you know. It's just there. Depending on my mood of the moment I might look at the random stuff they throw in though. For graphic inspiration purposes ^^
There are loads more out there. Mostly boring ones (sitcoms are always boring imo), but I'm sure there are good ones too.

Battlestar Galactica destroyed sci fi for me.
Yes it did, but hear me out ok?
After having seen BSG in a week, lived with it you might say, I can't fully enjoy other sci fi as I used to (with the exception of Farscape and Firefly, I'll mention them later). It feels unreal, shallow, cliché and occasionally even badly acted.
Why? BSG spoiled me, it really did. It plays in a league of its own. The characters feel so real, so human. They are flawed, they hurt, they scar, they love, they die. The ship feels real too, it isn't too "far out". It isn't run by a super smart computer and you can't just press a button or say "computer, do this and that". It doesn't have an energy field around it with blinking percentage showing up at a screen and someone saying that shield's are down. It's a tin can, and it's run by people. It has keys, levers, phones with cords… and people. And they turn the keys, pull the levers, and needs to find a phone whenever they want to contact someone. And there's someone at every little station imaginary. No single computer whiz doing it all. It feels like it's inhabited. People live on that ship.
There isn't some advanced alien race looking like us (having evolved to almost the same thing at exactly the same time in the eternity that is the universe) wanting us dead. The enemy is our own creation, we built them. And it isn't about heroes and all good men and women. It's the few shards left of humanity… on the run. Trying to find somewhere to live, somewhere to restart civilisation.
They aren't "superheroes". They don't succeed with everything. They cheat, they fail, they lose.
It all feels so real.
And the acting is superb. You believe them.
I was so caught up in this show; I believed in the characters so much that I didn't recognize actors that I really should. I am the kind of person who recognizes people from a guest spot on a show I saw two years ago. But in this they aren't actors, the characters are real.
Yep, can't watch sci fi in the same way anymore.
But, you say, what about Farscape and Firefly that you mentioned in the beginning?
Yeah, those two shows (the ones that own my heart) still feel as good. But then again, when reading the essay collection books on those shows you find them mentioning each other, saying that they're different. I agree completely.
The reason Firefly didn't destroy my view of sci fi? It was so short. But it was the same thing there. Real people, a ship that was a home not a computer and superb actors.
Farscape just kidnapped my heart. The acting and writing was so good. But yes, here you have loads of aliens (looking like us) and not a ship that is an inhabited tin can but a living being (although, that is the thing, it's really alive, and she has her own problems and mood swings sometimes). I won't go deeper on this show, because I won't be able to stop. But yeah, I could surely suspend disbelief for this, maybe largely because Crichton was from here and now. And the people stuff mentioned above still apply to all these characters, even the aliens. The reason it didn't frell up sci fi? I'm not sure, probably because it was quite a funny show at times (light hearted stuff doesn't have the same effect) but also that it had such heavy drama, just like BSG does... (and an insane plethora or aliens)
I already miss being able to enjoy the other shows the same way, but I wouldn't want to trade it back. No frakking way!

I think I really need a Bryan Fuller dvd collection. At least his "creations" so to speak. He makes such wonderful things. Even if we ignore Heroes (which I've already written that I love) and Star Trek (of which Voyager... which he wrote for... was my first fandom) his original creations or whatever... his shows... they make me happy and have something special. Something in common that I can't really put my finger on. But something that makes them really good. And I suddenly feel a need to get them on dvd. Now, that wouldn't be too hard since that is 3 box sets XD
A while ago I watched Dead Like Me, and I loved it (which makes two box sets). And about a week or so ago I just sucked in Wonderfalls and loved it to pieces (and that's the third dvd box). Both of them have that little weird quirky feel. And a girl that is "normal" or well, yeah, she is for like a minute or something. Still, leading a normal and boring life until something happens (she either gets hit by a toilet or faints cause a wax lion talked to her)... but she doesn't miracously change. She's still the same person, someone you can identify with, but she has to deal with this weird thing going on. And the rest of the characters then just happens to plainly rock XD And so does all the actors.
Now, you think, isn't she forgetting a show? No, I say, she is not.
Yeah, Pushing Daisies. Now, this doesn't count into the "I need a dvd collection" because it's fresh tv meat. When the dvd comes out, I kinda need it though XD You see, about two weeks ago a friend said I should watch it and that I might like it. I gave it a shot and only a couple of minutes had to go by before I was completely in love. Such an amazing show! Sweet, adorable, cute, beautiful, funny, quirky... just awsome. I tend to go "aaaaw" out loud a lot when I watch it XD
It was after that I thought that "hey, DLM was good and this is amazing, maybe I should try that Wonderfall one... and I did and I realised that Bryan Fuller just manages to make tv that just makes me so happy. Which means that whatever he decides to create after Pushing Daisies, I will be there immedeately.
Don't have the money now sinc eI have a trip to London planned. Maybe I can get Wonderfalls for Christmas or something...

The big week of season premieres is over... it has begun.
Well, I'm still waiting for Supernatural s3 to start but the rest (Heroes, Sarah Jane Adventures, NCIS, Bones and Stargate Atlantis) have kicked off.
I'm so happy! XD
Sadly, Mock the Week s5 ended this week and the Eureka season finale is next week. Luckily thought, it seems like Eureka has been picked up for a third season. YAY!
On another note me and a friend went on a little shopping spree last Friday (a week ago that is). We had planned to watch a big bunch of downloaded SPN s2 episodes (cause she was behind)... ended up just watching three and the rest of the night went to discussing said show as well as Dark Angel. Then, around three at night we said "I wonder how much it would be to order both SPN seasons from Amazon?"... we checked, my friend said "It's my favourite show ever and I can afford it" and I said "hell, I really like it and the dollar is so low compared to the Swedish crown right now... and this is what I earned at work today... Lets do it!" And so we did. In the middle of the night we ordered both seasons of SPN each (and my friend added two SPN books too... if they are awsome I might buy them too, who knows) So yay! Hopefully the package will arrive around Friday next week.
I'm quite tempted to order Dark Angel too. Somehow that show just stuck to me... and the two seasons are ridicously cheap O.o But I told myself that I can't buy them until I've been out running twice this month. Cause I need something to justify even more shopping as well as something to force me out on the track again.
But YAY! Finally the fall season is in motion... and it looks like it's gonna be a really nice season ^^

so... a couple of weeks ago someone on my LJ friendslist mentioned Dark Angel and I remembered that I had planned to watch it someday but never got to it. So since I was (still am) in that empty deadzone between seasons, when absolutely nothing is on, I thought I should give it a try. And that I did.
Oh my, I got sucked in right away. I loved Michael Weatherly from before (being an NCIS fan and all) so that just made it easier *laugh* But all the characters were so very lovable!
Yeah, really liked tha show and swallowed it like within a week. In season two I really liked the character of Alec (played by Jensen Ackles), he made me laugh so much XD And well, I had tried out Supernatural a while ago but I didn't really fall for it. Too much thriller/horror-ish for my taste (I just find horror movies and such boring) but since I remembered the character of Dean (yes Jensen Ackle's character) as being somewhat similar to Alec I thought I should give Supernatural another try. And then almost all evenings of the past week as been swallowed by that show. It just sucked me right in.
It amuses me a lot and then it has some nice angst sprinkled on top XD So now I totally look forward to s3, yay!
Because yes, the end of this void of nothingness in the TV world is soon coming to an end. There is one week, the last week of this month, when everything just explodes for me. Unless anything has changed since I last checked this is what I'm talking about:
monday 24th - Heroes
tuesday 25th - NCIS
tuesday 25th - Bones
friday 28th - Stargate Atlantis
thursday 4th (oct) - Supernatural
all the shows I follow... their new seasons starting (almost) the same week... SPN is just put in the week after. Ooooh it will be such a good week *purrs*
Just 2 and a half week left. Yay!
ok, I'm being a bit unfair. There are shows that are going now too, but it's not the big exciting ones... Mock the Week, Sanctuary and Heroes Unmasked, thank you for making the wait a bit easier ^^

*breathes deeply to calm down*
my biggest tv love ever... Farscape... IS BEING REVIVED!
I am so happy I could burst!
We don't have much details but apparently SCIFI has ordered 10 webisodes of Farscape. NEW ONES!
We don't know the casting or premiere date or anything but I have the biggest faith in the guys behind the show. Even if all the actors would say no (which I highly doubt since some of them have expressed an interest to come back in an event of a revival) I think they would still make a good show!
This was in the SCIFI.com news yeah... not some weird rumour flying around. Gosh, I can't believe it, I wasn't there for Serenity (the Firefly movie. I got into the fandom through the movie) and I wasn't there for the Peacekeeper Wars (since I got into Farscape a mere year ago)... so this is like... amazing. I've never felt like this for a tv related piece of news EVER.
Tomorrow I will watch Peacekeeper Wars to celebrate.
*cries a little tear of joy*

Yeah... the dreaded season ov tv coma has arrived. I had to watch three finales in two days of the five shows I'm watching "on tv".
Heroes... that was one amazing season. The finale dissapointed me a little but it was fine. Looking forward to the next season a lot!
NCIS.... BIG dissapointment in that finale. It wasn't even very exciting! Just building up for the season opening that I assume (and hope) will be much cooler.
Veronica Mars... yeah, no more of that show it seems. But the third (and last) season wasn't as good as the other two so yeah. I won't miss it too much.
So now I only have Any Dream Will Do and Doctor Who left. ADWD will be finished in two weeks (oh excitement! I will watch the finale with a friend in Edinburgh. Meeting her for the first time. Nice! Go Lee! XD) and Doctor Who will go on for little more than that thankfully.
But then I read something about Mock the Week returning in July? That would be awsome!
I will survive hopefully. I've started to watch Andromeda (which I once said I would never ever watch) so I have three seasons (+4 epsof s2) left ^^
Oh oh, and not to forget Sanctuary! Not technically tv but almost. It's damn cool and seem totally promising! And a new step in the evolution of "moving pictures" so to speak.

Gosh, it has been ages since I wrote anything here. Maybe it's time for a update on what's happening in the TV-viewing life of me...
First of all, all of Stargate SG-1 has come to an end. Bless UK for showing it looong before SciFi channel. It's sad that it has ended but there will be movies ^^ Also, it was a good finale, I really liked that ep. And Atlantis, well... I'm just waiting and waiting for s4
Following Doctor Who with much excitement *yey* I really like Martha as the new companion too ^^ And I'm waiting for Torchwood to start again... and I'll have to wait a long time
Watching NCIS as it airs, being really curious about the stalker...
Waiting for Veronica Mars to start again, and same with Heroes.
Fell in love with Life on Mars, watched it and it ended. Brilliant series, absolutely brilliant. Loved the end too. And for once it's a short series I do not wish to be any longer. It's meant to be that short.
Same with Dead Like Me. A friend told me to watch it and I watched both seasons within a week. Entertaining and easy on my mind ^^ Sad it didn't got a third season.
And finally we have another show I've started to watch every week: Any Dream Will Do. Got to know about it cause of John Barrowman but I'm watching it cause of the show itself. Looking for a leading man for a new West End production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. I love musicals, how can I ot watch this? XD
And that's it folks. Oh yeah, and I'm re-watching random eps from Farscape cause I just love that show too much.

15Jan 07oooh, I never noticed they added an option to choose your forum picture yourself! 80x80... meaning I can't take any of my regular icons, had to either shrink or make a new. Since I was "halfway" on a David Tennant icon I decided to complete it for this very cause.
Well, David Tennant in drag posing as the copanion to the Doctor. What's not to love?! *giggle*- Posted Jan 15, 2007 12:58 pm PT

28Dec 06well, with nothing to watch really (everything is on xmas hiatus) I gave in and went to a newfound friend of mine where I watched the first three episodes of Doctor Who (new series then)
and well, lets put it this way. I visited her in the evening friday 16th. Now I have seen all of the new series, all of Torchwood and built a TARDIS of gingerbread. Gotta say, that fandom settled in quick. And yes, all up to the 23d I worked and had to get up at six every morning. So no late nights or all-day watching. Oh I love it so much. I even managed to finish DW in a week leaving me actually longing for The Runaway Bride for three days and be able to be all excited and happy when I watched it with above mentioned friend.
I'm not as in love with TW as I am with DW... but it has really grown on me the past um, two days or something. I have in a way severed all the ties to Doctor Who in my head. I don't think of it as an adult sexy spinoff to DW, cause that just brings dissapointment, but like a standalone show ... like a crimeshow of sorts really. And it wasn't sexy at the beginning, it just felt "pushed" you know... but now, yeah, it's getting there.
I'm so looking forward to the new DW season, eeeeh!- Posted Dec 28, 2006 11:26 am PT

10Nov 06now I've seen all of SG-1 up to The Quest pt1... meaning that I haven't
seen that one. Cause no way I'm gonna watch a big cliffhanger and then
wait half a year for the next episode. Nope, I'll wait with them both!
But ooooh, I got good news yesterday! Apparently the Canadian channel
"Movie Central" will show the next ep of Atlantis in only like 9 or 10
days! *crosses fingers it won't change*
eeeeh so happy!
anyways... I've managed to watch 9 and a half season of SG-1 now, and
oh my, what a journey it has been. I love all the characters so very
much! And I really miss Jack in the new seasons (as well as Janet,
Hammond and Jacob/Selmak). Well, there is half a season left to air and
then two movies *whee* so it's not -completely- over. And well,
Atlantis has buried itself deep into my heart too. And somehow,
silently sneaking up on me, I have become such a David Hewlett
fangirl... A Dog's Breakfast, how I look forward to that movie!
Another update on my tv series front is that I am now a proud owner of
the ultimate Farscape box. One box complete with all four seasons and
PKW. Gosh it's pretty.
Tomorrow I will face my slight social phobia and have a Firefly
marathon with a bunch of people (browncoats I do believe) whom I don't
know. I know one of them slightly though. Lovely story that is btw.
Last weekend I was at a birthday party for a man in my dancing group
(medieval and rainessance dancing btw). He turned 40 and decided to
throw a nice pirate themed party. Piratey games, everyone dressed up,
period type food etc. And of course, since he had invited all of the
dance group, dancing XD Anyways, we were eating divided onto two long
tables. Suddenly I hear from the other table someone saying like "bla
bla bla firefly" I stoppe din my eating, my ears just opened up and
infront of me Maja did the same thing. We both said to eachother "nah,
she can't be talking about -that- Firefly". But soon enough we heard
"Serenity" and not long after she starts to quote stuff, playing out
the Wash+dinos scene. Imagine my happiness to ovehear a fellow
browncoat! I had met her like once or twice in dance class (she doesn't
come anymore since she has another dance class the same day) but when I
went to pick up my dessert I approached her saying "hey, I overheard
you talking about Firefly, first I didn't believe my ears then I
realised you were a browncoat". She got immensly happy and suddenly I
found myself sitting next to her (where there actually was an empty
seat) discussing Firefly. It then turned out she was also a Scaper so
we discussed Farscape for a while too. And I listened to some of her
filk and we just talked and talked. Then it turns out she has been
working at the same place I am now (which my mum started many years ago
btw) and she's active on LJ... which is like my home online XD So right
there I suddenly got myself a geeky friend. Connecting right away. With
quite some age difference I believe, but such things doesn't matter in
fandom!
Like immedeately when we had established that we both were browncoat,
before we even talked much, she invited me to a planned marathon this
weekend. She was like "Hey, you know what, me and a bunch of other
people are gonna watch firefly all of next weekend. Wanna join?" and
well, that I wanted ^^
Another wonderful thing with it is that we can exchange dvds XD Like
"hey, you haven't seen Doctor Who. Here you go, borrow these discs"
*giggle* So yep, that means that the next series to watch now when
Stargate is over is Doctor Who, the new one. (starting with ninth
doctor right?) While she will bowwow some Stargate from me ^^
ah, the wonders of fandom *^^*- Posted Nov 10, 2006 3:22 pm PT

3Sep 06(ok, just wrote this in my LJ but since it is me reflecting on tv stuff I think it should be here too)
I've noticed that one of my favourite episode plots in sci fi shows is alternate realities/gamees/timetravel
you know what I mean. It's just so interesting and like a nice break in the ordinary that is the show.
And
to add to that group, alternate dimensions that are just a little off
(like in a recent SG-1 ep, can't remember which and I'm too lazy to
check, where Cam, Sam and eventually Daniel ended up just a little off.
Being able to see everything, but not touch)
also, something I've learnt to love a lot with Farscape is tags. I really miss them watching SG-1 now.
If you
don't know what I'm talking about: a tag (that's what they call it in
Farscape production anyhow) is a little piece at the very end of an
episode. It's calm, settling and sometimes reflecting. In Farscape it's
often character developing in a way.
As I said I miss it in SG-1.
They tend to end an episode like "omg we're hunted" *jumps through
wormhole* *exits wormhole* "we made it" "oh you did a great job" *end*
If
there would've been a (Farscapeish) tag you maybe would've seen the
team afterwards, saying something, tending wounds, being amazed...
whatever. It's not always that I feel all "omg gimme a tag!" but
sometimes. Like when they find the stargate in Antarctica. It just
ended. I would've loved a little "after talk" or whatever. They just
carried Jack and Sam out. No "oh my what could this mean" or not even
seeing Sam and Jack recovering.
Hm, I suppose I'm just spoiled from Farscape XD
Gosh, I so don't like when they decide to make one of those episodes that mostly just include flashbacks!
it just feels like a filler, you get nothing. Sure, it serves some
purpose. Like SG-1's Politics; it was mostly
flashbacks (and those were not even good. Just entire long scenes, not
any nice patching together) but with the purpose of having that really
awful senator guy (whom I hate fiercly) shutting the operation down.
Bleh for those.
Also, changing the actor for a character is just crap. If the actor
wants to leave, make the character leave! Or if it's a minor character,
make some drastic alteration in his/her apperance... which of course is
explained ("we had to transfer her soul" haha, or something)
Still in a slight SG-1 marathon. Starting form the beginning I am mid
season 2 now ^^ And I look forward to Memento Mori soooo much! Like now
after watching the oldies my SG-1 love has grown even more and I just
can't wait for the new episode (curse those holidays!). It seems so
nice and being all Vala-ish is lovely. Just love that character *^^*
(and according to Ben Browder we'll get Cam chained to a bed? oh my)
ah well, have to wait almost a week. just gonn continue watching those old eps now then.- Posted Sep 3, 2006 1:54 pm PT

31Aug 06and apparently I chose to watch SG-1 from the beginning. Aw, it's nice to see the good ol gang again ^^ It was so long ago I don't even remember the episodes! Like the only memories I have specificly are from the pilot when they blast a whole in the wall as well as the Nox. For some reason they stayed in my memory, reviving whoever died in that episode (see, that I don't remember. that ep is actually the next in line for me to see)... but nothing else in particular. Oh wait, yeah, from ep 2 "the enemy within", when Kawalsky has a Goa'uld in him and all that. Both other than those three "big stuff" I don't remember anything. Just you know, major stuff like main characters and er, the stargate XD. I mean hell, I didn't even remember Thor! *hangs head*
Although the positive thing is that it is very pleasurable to re-watch it all. I don't get bored which I might have gotten if I instantly remembered what would happen in an episode.
and I totally miss Jack in s9 (and 10 of course) .___.
and Hammond too...
well, it will be a pleasure to go through the first 7 and a half seasons of this show! But of course I will watch the new eps as they air once a week (thank the gods for being able to download. Damn bad Swedish telivision not showing any good sci fi. Sure, there's ST TNG in the afternoons but I'm kinda tired of that. I want something exciting!)- Posted Aug 31, 2006 4:06 pm PT

31Aug 06For the first time in my life I'm now up to speed with a tv show. Usually I watch tv on well, my tv, which means Swedish television which then means that whatever nice show I might be watching is at least more than half a season behind where it originally aired. So I can always check up major stuff here or even download the episodes if it's really bad (cliffhanger for example).
But now I'm following Stargate: SG-1 as it airs in the States. And actually, the same will happen with Veronica Mars when that starts again in a while.
It's kinda exciting *^^*
Now I have two choices on how to clench my Stargate thirst. I can either try to get my hands on first season of SG-1 and start to watch it from the beginning or I can watch Atlantis faster and by myself instead of like two eps a week with Max.
Hmmm...- Posted Aug 31, 2006 2:02 am PT

26Aug 06Yup, it has sucked me in again, Stargate. Both SG-1 and Atlantis it seems.
Years ago (about 6 actually) I watched the first season of SG-1 on Swedish tv. Of course they decided not to show anymore and left me on a cliffhanger. It took some time, but I got over it. You see, 6 years ago I couldn't download and I had no means to buy any new seasons whatsoever. So there I was, forced to just leave it hanging.
Now I can download. Not buy, I'm not rich and for example Farscape is way higher up on the "to buy on dvd" list. So, I downloaded the first couple of eps of SGA, watched the double pilot. Liked it a lot. I will continue to watch it sporadically with one of my friends (who watched the pilot with me) and in the meantime I will instead watch SG-1. I don't really feel like starting over, and I kinda want to reach fandom collision soon (Ben + Claudia + Morena... like wtf. And of course Stargate itself starting to come fack fandom wise) So I did something bad, very bad. I downloaded the first SG-1 ep with Vala, Prometheus Unbound. That's like mid season 8 ^^;; And then I couldn't get hold of two eps coming after that (or well a bit after) so I had to jump. So now I'm watching the last eps of s8 and then 9 and 10. I will prolly just go back and watch it from the beginning after that...
And it doesn't feel weird nor confusing to be back. The feelings I had for the show all those years ago woke up again and I easily got into it all. Sure, a lot of small things I miss. Some big stuff too of course but I manage anyway. I've read the episode recaps of the eps I missed in season 8 and it all seems to work out ^^ Heehee, I'm looking forward to Avalon seeing both Ben and Claudia again.
Well, off I go to watch Moebius part 1~- Posted Aug 26, 2006 9:16 am PT

20Aug 06nyahahaha!
I've totally gotten two of my friends in love with Farscape.
Apparently I have a talent for dragging people into my fandoms. I suppose it's my way of telling people what it is that makes me love it. I don't go "it's about this and this in general and it's good" I come with character descritptions, some random facts, a more detail plot synopsis (leaving out just enough for everyone to get a need to know what actually happens) etc
One of my friends, somehow I've manage to form her XD Long ago I played some music for her (background while cooking or something. Not "listen to this"), she liked it and now I don't even listen much to that genre but she is a full-fledge fan. Same with books, she read some lame horse teen novels and I told her the story of my favourite book at the time (one of my favourite still) The Deed of Paksenarrion and now most she read is fantasy. And of course I've now managed to make her completely nuts over Farscape XD Had a marathon some days ago. Managed to cover 14 eps ending at Nerve. Yup, the first "to be continued" of Farscape *laugh* Such an evil way to end.
Well, tomorrow we will finish season one ^^
and of course I've manage to completely rub off Firefly on her XD Much easier though. Just show the first ep then borrow her the dvds. For Farscape we need to watch them on my own computer since I won't buy the dvds until the big badass box is released.
nyanya, I will continue and rub off fandoms on people, I sure will *^^*- Posted Aug 20, 2006 3:15 pm PT

I am such a tv/movie masochist!
I love when what I watch makes my tummy hurt cause it's so sad and painful and the most painful moments always becomes my favourites. And I tend to go back to only watch them once in a while, or to extract sounds from very sad scenes.
I always forget this but everytime I get a new fandom, or re-watch anything I am reminded cause I do it all over again. And it's not until after I've gone through it all and see what I look back on. Like now, I've recorded music and speech from the most sad parts of Farscape, just cause it's so pretty.
Still, I have to try really hard to not cry while watching or just even listening to John's goodbye in Icarus Abides. Ok, I'll be honest, I haven't managed to hold back yet... And this is what makes me love a show so much? Yup, masochism.
randomly:
I really like how John in PKW actually almost died (and became semi-comatosed) from the same thing as John in Icarus Abides, while creating a wormhole weapon, and with the "same" situation with Aeryn (+ a little extra XD)... and seeing the wormhole weapon the other John created in visions and finally saying that one of the stars was Aeryn's and not Little D's, just proving they were one and the same.
He even got th same cut on his forhead! xD
also: Ben's accent in A Bug's Life kills me everytime XD it's just so cute and funny- Posted Aug 7, 2006 1:58 pm PT

6Aug 06and it's all over now. I've seen all episodes and PKW and it has been one hell of a journey. Laughing, crying, holding my breath... all for the life of those characters.
Yup, one hell of a series.- Posted Aug 6, 2006 7:47 am PT

3Aug 06firstly: wtf do I always forget to write in this blog? I mean, Firefly? that was ages ago! I posted a bout my new love... now my heart is completely brown *laugh*
well, anyhow. Farscape. Oh god, I've just getting pulled in, not just liking it, I'm somewhat obsessed. I've managed to get through three seasons in two weeks. And it has made me cry more times than any other show. They frelling kill off main characters all the time!
If my counts are correct, John has died at least three times up to 3x18 O.o Sure, he is alive now but some many sob moments. And the others too, dying, every now and then. At least twice it has been so sad, and real. Not just heart stopping for a couple of minutes to then be brought back, but for real. With funeral or mourning people etc.
Well, touching, very touching.
And a het otp, again! I think it's the pain and struggle of John/Aeryn that makes it so wonderful, that and the small glimpses of when it actually work.
Ah yes, looove.
Yotz. I just remembered. I haven't even written a blog post when I fell totally in love with Veronica Mars O.o Oh well, that I have too at least.- Posted Aug 3, 2006 9:39 am PT
