31Dec 06Hey everyone (or no one as no one ever reads my blog :p )
I have a full stomach, im clean, shaven, dressed and ready to go out and party my way into the new year, i've already sent out new year messages (as i loose my phone or get too drunk to do it) so before i go (while i wait for girls to get ready) i thought i would write a little blog.... so here it comes.
2006 saw us introduced to some great games, actually i received my xbox 360 last year around christmas, i received condemned, call of duty 2 and quake as well as others and i remember thinking the quality of gaming and graphics were second to none, they blew me away.
The game coupled with the online extravagansa that is the 360, the acheivements and the wireless sexy look of the console and its accessories made me quickly fall in love with the beast of gaming technology..
Although all these fantastic games kept coming out and the graphics got better and better i found myself keeping to halo 2 online, for most the year this is all i played, building my levels, making friends and enjoying myself.
When halo finally got boring i turned my attention to completeing some of my 360 games, i then went and completed condemned and king kong in a short space of time and enjoyed every second of doing so.
This year i received possibly the greatest pressents i could, i got a plug and play kit (batterys are expensive you know) wireless headset (which is soooo sexy and cool) and games including need for speed carbon of which i completed 14% in an hour, Call of duty 3 of which i havnt played a great deal but will look forward to doing so and possibly the greatest game ive ever played.... gears of war!!
I put the disc in and started the game up, within minuetes my brother and i had set up a co-op campaign on casual and were fighting away anything that came close, i completed it that night in a matter of hours....
The next day a friend of mine (online) came on and we started a hardcore co-op found 28 cog tags and completed the game withing hours again and moved onto insane which we are yet to complete (stuck on cart level god damit)
The graphics are realistic, sleak and sexy to the eye, the sound quality was superb and the overall enjoyablity of the game blew me away, although i was a little let down by the online menu's and the fact you cant invite friends to ranked matches
Looking back it was clear to see it was a fantastic year for microsoft and the xbox/xbox 360 with fantastic titles being releaced and more fantastic games on the hirizon.
Upcoming games that look attractive include Alone in the dark and darkness (May) Stranglehold (April) Grand Theft Auto (Quarter 4 2007) and offcourse Halo 3 and Gears of war 2 (i hope)
So with improving graphics engines new avaliable technology can be driven with the imagination to make an endless suply on mind boggling games that will have everyone screaming for more.
2006 was a fantastic year for gaming and i predict that 2007 will be even better and brighter for the gaming world and everyone involved..... I wish you all a very happy new year and enjoy yourselfs....
27Dec 06Hey guys an gals
Let me start of by letting you know that on the xbox 360 (incase you didnt know) you can download demos from the xbox live marketplace, such as packman =) also incase you didnt know when you play a game its saved on your gamertag wether you have the full version or have completed any of the game...
Thats the problem.... there is currently NO way of removing games from this list... say your little sister downloads barbie horses or some crap and plays it, without completeing it.... your friends will look ---> Barbie horses of adventure, acheivements none, gamerpoints none ---> and they will laugh at you...
Why oh why oh why dont they make it possible to remove games from this list, im told that its because of people playing games illegaly it shows up different on the list and allows them to know who to block, but even then couldnt they make demo games say demo next to them until you download the full version and make the demo removable from the list... or not appear at all?
Something for microsoft to concider...
19Nov 06Hey *waves*
I love the acheivements sections of xbox 360 games, i think that its a great addition to playing games, and gives you an added reason to complete games and stick to playing them....
Although im a little disapointed at the same time, some games have had problems with the acheivements, i.e they havnt unlocked when they should have, which should be fixed before the games are releaced....
Im also annoyed that with alot of games you have to play online to unlock acheivements, i dont think this should be the case, acheivements should be for the games and games only, how you do online should be rated seperately on the online platform, with a level such as on halo2, if they then wanted to give gamerpoints baised on the level i think this would be a better method....
Just my view
