It must seem a while since I last posted hey? Yeah well, I appologise for playing too much WoW now..hehe it gets addictive some times...Anyways today I went on gamespot.com as usual and I found out that Konami was celebrating the 20th anniversary of Metal Gear. That is one big event because there were multiple new Metal Gear titles announced. One of which I am really excited about is Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops+, even though I have the original MGS port, I would still buy this just for the new contents included. But the highlight of the event must be the 15 minute playable demonstration. The video was kinda dodgy for me since I have a really bad connection so every 10 - 20 seconds the video needs to buffer. But that didn't stp me from viewing what I regard as the most intense gameplays I have even seen in video games. I am serious. The explosions, sound effects of bullets flying through the battlefield...it was AMAZING. And from what I saw in the video, I am 100% certain and have come up with some ideas why Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns Of The Patriots will REMAIN PlayStation 3 exclusive.
1. During the video, Old Snake takes out the Mk. II., he is holding a PlayStation 3 controller to "control" the Metal Gear. If it is NOT an exclusive for PlayStation 3, why would they need to spend time creating an action where you see Snake controlling Mk. II. with a controller? If they were going to make it multiplatform, then they would be likely to change the controllers right? That's just pathetic then.
2. As Kojima was talking about the First Person persepective and how players are allowed to play through the game like a FPS, in past Metal Gear Solid titles, we are able to view in first person view, though we weren't allowed to move Snake simply because there weren't enough controls. I mean the analog stick was already for viewing and turning the camera angle, how can you move? Then Kojima explained that to turn the camera angle in this sequel, it is done by usuing PlayStation 3's SIXAXIS controller. Without it, the FPS feel would not be added in.
Well, whether you agree or not, I am certain Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns Of The Patriots will not go multiplatform, if they were going to do it, Kojima would have announced it during the Microsoft Press Conference or at the Konami booth (if there were booths anymore) during E3. That's all I have time to post so..I'll catch you later and from what the people at IGN.com said about it, You might not believe us now, but mark our words, you will buy Metal Gear Solid 4.
Hey, remember last time how I said that my PlayStation 2 stopped working? Well after several days of "resting", I turned my console on and mysteriously, it responded! I quickly jumped up and closed my WoW window and sprinted over to the lounge and started playing, yep you guessed it, Mortal Kombat Armageddon!! YEAH BABY!!!!! Anyways, turns out that it wasn't as good as I had expect it to be. The combat was totally different from the typical fighting games I've played, maybe it's because I never actually played an MK title so I may not be familiar with the controls or that my controller had defaults or something. It just doesn't feel as exciting or fast-paced as the moves were quite slow in response and when I tried pressing multiple buttons hopefully creating a combo, the characters just either punched or kicked once. That frustrated me and I'm beginning to think that I wasted $80 on a lousy game. But anyways, I hope Midway can develop a better and more exciting game on the "current-generation" consoles in the distant future. Apart from me frustrating over MK:Armageddon, I currently installed all three, yes all three Grand Theft Auto titles, on PC. It now appears that Vice City, my most favourite game of all time now doesn't really appeal to me so much. Maybe it's because I re-played it for so many times and also played it on GTA: Vice City Stories. I'm beginning to like Grand Theft Auto III much more in contrast. One of the reasons why I would like to revisit Liberty City is probably because I wanna see what the major differences will be in Grand theft Auto IV and try to guess where they might change some of the landscapes. I found one part which I am pretty sure will be Time Square. I'm sure you guys would already know where but I'll tell you anyway. (hopefully I am right xD) Well my theory is that Time Square will replace the "old" Time Square over in Staunton Island, just a few blocks from the court house. If you don't understand what I mean, well you might just need to play GTA III again to check because I don't have an image.
Anyways, I'm currently busy working on some projects over the holidays. These '"projects" are comics which are inspired by the games I'm actually playing or TV series. Games such as World of Warcraft, God of War which are known for their mythology are the inspiration for my currently in development comic known as Tales of Normadia. I have only come up with the basic concept of the story and characters but I hope I will have finished one chapter of the comic before this year ends. The second project which I started back in December 2006 is a story set in the Metal Gear Solid universe which depicts a spy known as Eagle to infiltrate future Germany which is captured by a large Mercenary group known as "The Messiah" which leads the Genome Army. The main character's codename is based on Hideo Kojima's ideas of calling the MGS soldiers with animal names. Funny huh? Well I have already drafted five chapters and beginning on the sixth. Hopefully it will be finished within the holidays. The last project came from an idea that I wanted to make a comic about superheroes just like the hit TV series Heroes which is currently my favourite show to watch followed by 24 and Prison Break which all airs on Wednesdays on the same channel!! What a coincidence! Anyways, Heroes, the Marvel Universe and also even Mortal Kombat are major inspirations for my comic named SuperHeroes. Pretty lame name huh? Well I couldn't think of any names to call it. I struggled to think of what powers these people would have because damn Marvel have come up with basically any superpowers you can think of honestly!! But luckily I tried to reduce the chances of copying their superpowers which was a relief. Anyways that is all that I have been doing for the past few weeks over the holidays: playing games and working on my "projects". Maybe, and I mean MAYBE you might have a little chance of seeing my comics on my blog. be sure to check IF you are interested. But I don't really think people would want to anyways. Ok now I'm gonna continue drawing in SuperHeroes, later!
Hey guys, I am really pissed off right now...I recently bought Mortal Kombat: Armageddon and I was hoping I could play it straight away once I got home. Unfortunately, I remembered my PlayStation 2 is screwed up and occasionally "disfunctions". When I went home I put the disc in and turned it on, it had the opening screen but then goes into the Browser Configuration menu. From then on everytime I turn it on it just wouldn't play games....I am really pissed off right now. I'm thinking whether I should fix my PlayStation 2 or just wait for like a few months until my bro comes back with his PlayStation 3? But the thing is, I'm still wondering if it can play PAL discs since he bought it in Hong Kong. Hopefully I can play the final Mortal Kombat game on current gen, I don't really care if I play it on PlayStation 2 or 3, I just wanna play....x(
