    Satan

Everyone is excited that today is 6/6/06. Supposedly it's the special number of some fictional "devil" character that was constructed by early Christians in response to the oppression of the Roman emperor, whose official seal included the number 666. So, really, people are merely celebrating a ridiculous misconstruence of facts. What really amuses me, though, is the fact that Satanists are Christians. They believe in the Christian Satan, and that's what they worship. They are the biggest morons of all, too oblivious to see the fact that you must believe in God if you believe in Satan. It's gleefully ironic that they are their perceived enemies.

    Drug Companies "Hiding" Cures

So I've heard from more than one intelligent person that drug companies have supposedly been hiding cures from us. Oh, and the scientists are being blackmailed somehow into keeping this conspiracy hidden.. Loo, morons, this idea is from an INFOMERCIAL. God, what is wrong with people? There are way more important things to worry about. Like real, actual issues. I've checked out the facts, the guy is so full of crap it's not even funny. He claims that the ten drug companies in the Fortune 500 "make more than the other 490 combined." Uhhh, that's just plain a lie. It's stupid.

GM's spent over a billion dollars on their hydrogen prototype, it's drivable right now. The drug companies pour bilIion into disease research, you think they're just burning that money in the incinerator in order to cover up their secret? I have a close family member who works in disease research, and I'm pretty sure his life isn't a sham. Why did they cure smallpox? Polio? Chicken pox?

My problem with this whole idea is that it skews the real problems of the pharmaceutecal industry, like the fact that they hand out psychological medications like candy without knowing the long term ramifications. The fact that much of the wonderful medications they make that work aren't being distributed to everyone who needs them. This whole conspiracy distracts from those very real, provable, big problems with the industry.

    "Yeah, right..."

You know what bugs me? Watching an action movie or some kind of sci-fi and the guy next to me keeps saying "yeah, right," as if this is some sort of documentary we're watching. Don't you think we lost all semblance of reality when the dude in Transporter 2 managed to use the magnetic crane to remove the bomb from the bottom of his car by doing a barrel roll? I mean, what, you think you're solving the mystery of the movie by proving that it didn't really happen? Of course it didn't happen, you don't deserve a friekin' medal just because your disbelief isn't quite suspended. Yes, I notice those things, too. I don't feel the need to point out every single plot-hole, unreal action, or bad, obvious CG. I hate that, too, when somebody points out something that is obviously CG as looking like what it is. Take it from me, nothing looks exactly real, ever. Even Gollum, the most detailed, cool looking CG character to ever come to screen, didn't look close to real. You're not smart because you can point these things out, just obnoxious. Get over yourself.
