CoolLizy's Blog

Haven't Posted in Awhile, Eh?
Cross posting this from my LJ, 'cause I'm lazy like that, and because it really gives an idea of what I like in video games. Anyway:

So, I went ahead and gave my thoughts on Twilight Princess over at GameSpot and, dare I say it? I scored the game lower than Jeff. D:

8.1 from me.

To be quite honest, and I couldn't really get into this in the review because it's more about personal preference than the game itself: I like where the series is going. I just don't know if I want to go with it. Zelda fans are pushing for longer, more labrynth-like dungeons, harder bosses, and the return of some of the more frustrating gameplay elements. Slowly but surely, Nintendo is giving it to them. I had a hard time playing Twilight Princess, and even Wind Waker of all things, knowing this. I really don't enjoy Zelda dungeons. I just don't. But, unfortunantly, there's no other series that really comes together like Zelda. Those few that try, like the infamous Starfox Adventures, usually end up as mush.

I guess I'll just have to save up a couple hundred million and make my own game series. D:

Deus Ex Machina

Just completed Deus Ex for...  Oh, the fourth or fifth time.  This time at the hardest difficulty.  Only did the Helios ending, though. From what I know about the next game, it's the "real" ending anyway (I'll have to play it one day to see).  Besides, I got tired battling those stupid bots.  Once you get to Sector 4, you don't get a lot of stealth choices as far as how you go about completing your mission(s). :/

On a related note, I'm realing getting tired of multiple endings in first person shooters.

More Super Mario Bros?
The best thing about New Super Mario Bros?  The fact that now they have a working engine, and a sequel can't be too far behind!  Booya!

Cheating Games

Gah--Soul Caliber III is not newbie-friendly.

Yay! Update!

Nintendo updated the new Smash Bros. website and added the character section.  Only Meta Knight and Pit are listed, but if they're adding a character or two a week, I expect them to slowly reveal new characters on the site within a few months.

We'll have to wait and see if such is the case.

Where's Pit?

Meh--I have this blog, I might as well use it.

Anyhow, I'd like to know what Nintendo did with the official art for Pit...  I never got into Kid Iccarus, but his Super Smash Bros Brawl model is exceptional!  (I wish I could get my hands on it and animate it.) They appear to have official art for every SSBB character announced thus far--Including Snake, mind you--But no Pit anywhere to be seen.

That makes me sad.
