This is big, in fact, IT'S TOO BIG! What is this "Super Smash Bros. Mayhem" anyway? why it's a long running game project that I have been working a little bit on ever since May. I've got the characters thought up that I want in, the stages, most of the music, the items, features, and other things reaching the near ends. This is why I'm trying out modeling and such: I want to make a smash game.
So, what will it be like?
It will be like the game Brawl could have been... no cloned final smashes, no characters that you 'd rather see dead, and certainly NO LUCARIO! Of course, Snake and Sonic are comming back in for some more fun with Mario and friends, but there's gonna be some wild surprises comming up, along with some thrills and spills.
And best of all, I'm gonna give you the info you'll need on it! It won't be like Sakurai's stuff though...
Also, wouldn't it be great if you could actually have a fun filled battle even when you're stuck on Final Destination with no items? Fear not! For I'm giving you a stellar soundtrack, with some of the most epic battles, memorable memories, greatest exploring themes, and of course, stuff that would be suitable for a Wario vs. Diddy Kong battle. And it's all without that stupid Latin Choir! Isn't that something? Of course, I'll be remixing a good portion of the music myself, along with other things.
But you're only going to care about 4 things I'm putting in this: characters, items, stages, and music. Well, how will these numbers do?
= 49 Playable characters to use, considering you're gonna have to unlock about half of them, and it includes fighters like Mario, Fox, Marth, Samus, and Jigglypuff in the mix of starting characters... hmmm, you're wondering.
= 54 Stages are at you're disposal once you've got them all. New worlds await while you're old favorites come back with a fresh new look.
= some 40 Assist Trophies are willing to help along with 30+ pokemon featuring Darkari and such.
= 300+ tunes from many Nintendo games along with Metal Gear Solid, Sonic, Tetris, and Sim City pieces.
= 50 items to be used in your battles, from the favorite hammer to the bizzare mustache to the dreaded motion sensor bomb.
= Over 500 pieces for your use in stage builder. Finally, no more being bummed out.
= An adventure mode awaits your conquering. Can you save the world again?
= Many other features including online and snapshots are also in.
Now this won't be beboping tommorow, but believe me, when things start comming together, you may very well find yourself saying:
"AJ; what will he think up next?!"
Well, I managed to get my computer a better video card so that it can (hopefully) run Maya now. That will explain the mysterious disapperance yesterday. Now hopefully I can start making some of my stuff in 3D...
I also have a Deviant ART accout now, BlackDragonAJ89, with some of the digital stuff on display there. I wonder if FA is back up yet...
Sairain MIDI is the website and creation of my mere imagination and ideals. While it may sound very serious, it's actually quite the opposite...
The name Sairain MIDI:
The name that would become my website was actually a mispelling of "Sauriain", which was what I was going to call myself whenever I contributed a MIDI file to VGmusic.com, (the actual title was "AJ & the Sairain Orchestra" primarly because people that I went to school with liked to give me ideas of how to remake some music, so it was a loose clusterization of the crowd). The name soon would become the name of my website, but because I no longer work with people at school, I most likely will call title the composer/arranger with "AJ the Black Dragon" instead due to the whole group thing being gone.
The First MIDI:
The first MIDI to be put on VGmusic was a slap together version of "Hammer Bros. Battle" from SMB3, remixed for a jazzy like thing that might have appeared in SSBB (at that time, it was called Super Smash Bros. Revolution). Some others would follow, all of realitive lousiness and in need of repair (the only of the "lost MIDIs" to be repaired is David Wise's "Fox & Krystal"). The actual "good" MIDI would be "Starwolf's Battle" from Assault that came first. Since then, most of my MIDIs have improved in quality.
The Anthro Zone
The thing about the Anthro Zone is that it is somewhat different from most other Anthro art collections. First off, it has far more reptiles than mammals being showcased (since foxes & wolves are generic on others), primarly because of the high dragon count more so. Also, Sairain MIDI has far more females than males, about 4 males as of now and SEVEN females (I just created another female) plus 4 more to be revealed. There's only about 2 other males left to reveal (and this is all without the recreations of Link, Snake, Glaceon, and possibly other non-original characters). And to some, it may be kinda hard to wonder why all my characters (male and female) are skimppy on their clothes, but it's because they have fur, swim a lot (the Kroc sisters), overheat (dragons), or were designed to be kinda vulgar (Clera O'Donnell especially).

This is the newly created female: Cindy. She's a blue vixen who's going to appear in a game I'm working on now, and you'll see her actual sprites later.
Other fun facts:
- Originally, Jake Whitmore was supposed to wear only a set of black briefs and a utility belt, the design was changed later because I wanted to create a more sinster dragon who was wearing a simple set like that.
- Before Sairain MIDI went with the Anthro theme, there was going to be a another mascot simply called "Trainer AJ". AJ was just a pokemon trainer who ran an ice cream truck business driving a blue and white decked out van called "the Robot Vixen" (I have to find the picture, you'll see why it got it's name). There was also going to be a webcomic simply titled "Robot Vixen", which was a pun at "Robot Chicken" and was to be somewhat like it, except oriented around what I experinced in life. This ranged on from picking on polotitians and big business, and familar characters: from cartoony ones like Mario and Jake Long, to serious ones like Sora and Master Chief. The scheme was ended though when the Anthro Zone was established.
- Originally, my black dragon persona was actually supposed to be a villian simply called "the Black Dragon". He had a human form (it was going to be a cross between William Dafoe and Prof. Snape sorta), and was supposed to be 12 feet tall and have more markings on his arms and chest, as well as to have grey eyes with mangy long white hair and spikes. However, this was going to be the villian of "Robot Vixen", but after the scrapping of the idea, the Black Dragon was simply put to rest until I wanted to change my anthro-persona.
- Sairain MIDI has had three different website designs. The very first one (which was never revealed to the public) was a framed site with a "space aged" theme. This was scrapped due to lousy color schemes. The other design (the first one published), was also a framed site with a white text on black background with blue navigations panels. The site's remake is what I consider the 3rd version. It is the non-add-annoying table version with a white background for text and a black background for ads. The reason for the change was to conserve space.
- Sairain MIDI used to have an image gallery, a joke of the week page called "the Pokeball", and the comics containing the Anthro Zone. With site expansion though, the image gallery and Pokeball were scrapped due to their wastings (and the fact that nobody really liked the Pokeball).
- The original fox persona that I used to have was actually supposed to be the poster boy of the Anthro Zone. But because I saw how very different I was from my fox persona (I wasn't very heroic, honorable, nor romantic), I made the switch to the dragon persona.
- Ericka was created by accident! Originally just supposed to be some sketch, I decided to make her an equal with my persona. Her body figure and personallity are based on an unseen to the public artic vixen named Daniele.
- Katie Kroc was created right after I woke up from a dream about how a humanoid crocodile who used a bizzare bloating-from-eating ability to create dragon fire that she used to fight some scientests. Katie's original design had her near anerexic and with flat, long purple hair, but the more jubilant, long orange hair and somewhat normal design was choosen instead. Nobody has seen this character when she's fully bloated or dawning her extra special power: a set of dragon-like wings.
- The first original MIDI was never fully achieved. It wouldn't be until the creation of "Ending 1" that originals would start to follow.
- My first synth was a Casio CTK-491, with 99 different sounds, 1 drum set, and 100 built in songs.
- My musical voice is mostly sax/french horn/strings combo. Ever since I first took band, I was always concerned about why woodwinds never got the important parts like the brass did.
- Ericka and Clera O'Donnell are the poster girls of Sairain MIDI's Anthro Zone.
- Annie Swellow is the only avain in Sairain MIDI.
- The claw marking on my dragon form's chest, the back of the Sairain MIDI logo, and on some of the Nintendo emblems is actually based on a simple claw marking I saw on a tree from a mountain lion. It represents the ideal of simplicity and creativity in Sairain MIDI and is often associated with "Anthro freaks" to the norm. It's usually red and easy to distinguish.
- Cleaning Machine (Whenever I can get it up) doesn't have a full original soundtrack. It also has some remixes of Starfox and Eartbound music in it.
- I have come up with over 50 melodies, but none long enough or good enough to really use.
- My Yamaha PSR-E403 hates my computer's slow system.
- I have created over 30 different characters and some 15 worlds, but most never actually get to be known by others.
That should be about it for the current facts. Man, this has been a long list of things! I hope you enjoy what I have done, since I hope that one day Sairain MIDI becomes Sairain MIDI Digital Entertainment, and it makes some of the finest Anthro games that you'll ever pick up and play (and makes the next Smash Bros. too!!). All with good stories and music.
