It just depends on the person really, and if they judged the game on its own, or if they compared it to the games that came before it. As an RE entry it doesnt seem like it holds up to the rest, but as an action title its average or good to those who enjoy the genre. Not everyone will hate it because if they arent familiar with the series and go in with no expectations theres not that massive amount of hype for it to be weighed down with, others opinions will always differ and there will always be games that cause a divide between fans or non fans. But theres no denying the game has badly done mechanics and some strange design choices. Ill still check it out to form my own opinion of it, but theres really no reason to hate anyone who does enjoy it, just ignore them and move on. I recall you feeling the same way about RE5, but this sounds like it was the final nail in the coffin for the series for you. I dont think capcom will get the picture anytime soon anyway.

This is gonna be my final topic on Resident Evil 6 until the end of the year when it will probably end up being my biggest dissapointment of the year. I have come across certain posts of people trying to defend the game and then having a dig at it's fanbase for wanting it to be like RE1,2,3 and Code Veronica. It's like people were saying stop living in the 90s fanboys but hang on a minute.
Hang on though the majority of the fans have Resident Evil 4 as their favorite in their eyes as the pinnacle of the series. I mean it's on many people best lists by not only fans of the series but game magazines, sites and had bagged many awards such as GOTY 2005 which it truly deserved. That was when the series changed it evolved with great controls, good pacing and many other good things.
What the game didn't have you do was certain button prompts every 5 or so minutes, rubbish inventory system, poor combat and the various quick time events only really happened at key points not all the time whereas with number 6 it did. You didn't have to keep pressing L or R to climb a rope or rapaidly press the certain button 3 times in a shark chase. Yes you did if Del Lago managed to knock you out of the boat but that was to be expected.
I have also heard people comment and saying why they say it's good because it's a big game. So a big game doesn't mean a better game. I mean Sonic 2006 had about 3 stories and a final version and that was s***. Some people are saying Kevin doesn't know what he is talking about well to be honest I can actually see where he was coming from.
Worst of all are the people who say why can't they just accept Resident Evil has moved on. We have since number 4 which is a magnifcent game and still worth a playthrough now and again. It's likle fans are thinking it's people who played the older games are b****ing about it. Wrong people who played the likes of RE4 are too. Why can't some people just admit that it was bad game.
I just don't like it when some people have a go at certain people or sites thinking they got it wrong. I always determine a game on how it plays and it's enjoyable. The controls are a mess, Quick Time Events to frequent and most of all the inventory system sucks. Oh and Chris Redfields campaign is basically similar to COD and it's boring.
I didn't base my review on GS opinion I thought overall it was a bad game the demo sucked and the actual game does as well. People gave good valid reasons so stop having a go at them.
